Chapter 1708: Number One Below The Late Stages
Chapter 1708: Number One Below The Late Stages
The rain of lightning continued for almost a minute before dying down. Grey was still mid- air, staring down below him, waiting for the young lady's figure to come into view once again. He didn't expect to beat her with just this move, he was only trying to see how she would defend against it before attacking once again.
The young lady's figure came into view once again, and she wasn't as elegant as she previously appeared. Her curly hair was messy, and her eyes showed a hint of anger, as well as surprise.
"You also have the space element?" She asked through a raggedy voice as she tried to catch her breath.
"I suppose you can say so." Grey replied. He pointed at her once again, and this time, the young lady didn't dare to remain in the same spot.
As she moved, she felt her entire body turn light, and before she could figure out what was happening, her figure shot straight at Grey.
Everyone who saw how her body was positioned knew for a fact that this movement wasn't of her own will, rather, she was pulled by a mysterious force.
Grey had his palm open, and the young lady's figure was grabbed by Grey. With Grey's hand clutching her by the neck, there was nothing else she could do. It was as if the entire strength had been drained from her body the second Grey's palm made contact with her neck. There wasn't any form of hostility from the hold, even though it was her neck, she knew Grey had no intentions of harming her.
Grey looked at the Elder in charge of the battles, awaiting him to announce the result of the battle.
The Elder quickly announced the winner, rocking the entire arena. The duo of Nathan and Harry who had previously thought that they were superior to Grey when they first met him couldn't help but gulp in some saliva. Luckily, they didn't try to act tough in front of Grey when they first met.
Ezekiel, who was on the stands, was shocked. He didn't expect that Grey would actually be victorious over his opponent. Grey's first performance was stunning, but looking at it properly, he took advantage of his explosive speed, and the fact that his opponent underestimated him to take her out with a single move. As impressive as it sounds, it's something that could happen when an error is made, hence the reason he didn't believe that Grey could defeat this young lady.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Lord Dante's eyes turned sharp as he looked at Grey. What Grey had done is shocking to say the least, and he has truly drawn their attention over to him. The feeling of unease came once again as he looked at the figure standing mid-air.
Grey had let go of the young lady after he was announced the winner, so he was the only one standing there, lording over everyone else in the Mid stages of the Sovereign Plane.
"That technique he just used is hard to deal with." An Elder in the Eighth stage of the Sovereign Plane commented with a serious look. The technique could be dealt with if he knew when it's used, but that's the problem, there's no way to know when such a technique is used, and if one is caught by surprise just like the young lady, they will not have time to react before they are disposed of.
From Grey's two fights, the Elders could already tell that if Grey wanted to kill either of the young ladies who were his opponents, he would've been able to achieve this very quickly. They couldn't help but recall what Faction Leader Bertram said some minutes back 'he's still holding back'.
This statement a few minutes ago was hard to believe, but now, they knew for a fact that Grey was indeed holding back.
'No wonder the Gnomes want him dead.' Lord Dante thought to himself. Grey's use of elemental attacks was top tier, even among old monsters like himself.
With Grey's age, it's only a matter of time before he gets to the Half God Plane. Once he gets to that level, he'll be unprecedented. Of course, there will naturally still be people who can deal with him amongst the old monsters. In his cultivation stage, Lord Dante could also defeat all those in the same stage as himself.
Grey being the number one under the Late stages of the Sovereign Plane in the Pyro Faction already proves that he's a genius even among geniuses.
A realization soon dawned on not just Lord Dante, but the Elders from the Pyro Faction as well. Since Grey could beat a Sixth stage Sovereign, one who could battle some Seventh stage Sovereigns, doesn't that mean that he could also fight with Seventh stage Sovereigns and have a good chance of winning over some?
In the outside world, it's normal for them to accept something like this, since not all Sovereigns are that powerful. Some of them in the outside world are fed multiple treasures, so even though their cultivation stages give them a high position, their true strength isn't something to write home about. But the Pyro World was different, just being born here already gives one a physique superior to those of the outside world. They can absorb more essence, and even of a higher quality compared to the outside world, so they all train and get to the stages they are in, unlike those who are fed treasures.
This doesn't mean that there aren't treasure junkies that won't defeat people of the same stage, after all, someone like Klaus exists. Klaus could be said to be a treasure junkie, yet his strength is outstanding. People like Klaus, however, are very rare.
On the platform.
Grey descended and nodded in the direction of the young lady, just as he was about to turn around she spoke up.
"Remember, we're hanging out after the competition." She reminded him.
Grey smiled but didn't say a word.
"I'm Matilda."
"Grey."
"It's nice to meet you, Grey."
