Villain: The Play of Destiny

Chapter 464

Chapter 464

Inside an abandoned factory, on the outskirts of Hangzhou, a couple of men in black were tied to wooden chairs, who had been mercilessly beaten by the man who was lighting up his cigarette.

"Who sent you?" Qin Feng asked, putting the lighter back in his pocket and taking a long puff.

However, neither of the Assassins answered his question. And they were never going to answer him.

He glanced at the shoulder of one, where the shirt was ripped open, and saw the Black Rose tattoo that he was very familiar with.

It belonged to the World's most powerful Assassin Organisation, whom he too had hired on several occasions to take care of some businesses.

Qin Feng knew how the Organisation worked, and he was already quite disturbed.

"I want to know who your client is, but I suppose you don't even know about him?" He asked again, slowly walking towards the two men, who could have broken free from the ropes that were binding them if the needles that were piercing their Aura Nodes were not making it excruciatingly hard for them to do it.

"You only managed to catch us because of Lord Erebus' assistant, Lord Hades," The young man, whose face was covered in blood, mockingly said, "I am disappointed." He raised his head and met the eyes of the Mortal God was now standing a foot away from him.

Unbeknownst to him, his words had truly cut deep into Qin Feng's heart, whose mind was still anxiously running at what happened earlier today.

"Tell me. Do you have any idea who the client is?" The Mortal God asked again, this time, utilising his Magic to influence the mind of the Assassin, whose pupils immediately dilated as a vacant look appeared in his eyes.

"No," He answered.

"Tell me what you know about the Pendant."

"Our task is to steal it without harming Wei Feifei."

Qin Feng frowned at the Assassin's answer, who clearly had no information about the Pendant, and when he ordered the other one to answer him, he received the same words.

"How many of you are in the city?"

"Five."

"Where are the rest?"

"I don't know..."

...

..

.

Qin Feng kept asking his questions to gather as much information as possible from the two and then killed them both.

He was quite frustrated that he had not managed to gather anything useful from them.

However, more than anything, he was frustrated at himself for trying to steal the pendant out of impulse and getting caught in the act.

He did not know why he suddenly felt the urge to grab it when he figured out that the Assassins were not just there to kill him but to also steal that pendant.

It was indeed something magical and extremely precious. He could tell that much. However, now he felt like it was not worth the risk because he had been caught.

He still could not believe that the two girls saw through his intentions, despite the complete pandemonium, and he was quite alarmed in his heart that the girl named Iseul had managed to react in time.

And she did not just react, but she was bold enough to put her Aura Dagger on his throat, extremely sure of herself that he would not dare to harm either of them.

The mocking indifference in her eyes weighed on his conscience now, and he was quite angry after learning that the Black Rose was too scared of Keith to even harm Wei Feifei, but they went on and accepted the hit on his head.

If it was not disrespect, what was it?

Well, since they had decided to take the job, they better be ready for the consequences because he was not going to let them go.

Taking one last puff, he threw the cigarette on the floor and then pressed his foot on it, generating a strange greenish-golden flame that removed every trace of it.

Qin Feng looked at the two bodies and then turned around to leave, but his steps came to a halt when he heard a voice that sent chills up his spine.

"Interesting flames."

The Child of Destiny felt suffocated and his heart threatened to leap out of his throat, but he still bravely turned around to look at the source.

"Black Rose? That's even more interesting."

There, right where he was standing a few seconds ago, now stood Keith, who was curiously looking at the two dead Assassins.

"The Big Dipper Needles," He chuckled. "Quite a handy technique, but the signs show your lack of mastery over it. Guess, Medicine is not your forte."

Qin Feng's heart slowed down when he saw the Lord of Darkness turn to look at him. The coldness in those dark eyes was unmistakable.

"How did you get here?" He controlled his restless heart and raised the question, but a simple smile that crept on the man's lips in response sent a new series of chills up his spine.

"I took the car." Keith playfully said, clearly amused at his restlessness and the attempt to stay calm. "Do you remember what I said to you in Van?"

The question made Qin Feng even more restless as Keith's words had been haunting him for hours now and they were fresh as ever in his mind.

Keith had told him that day that he would not act against him unless he provided him a reason. And he had just done that today.

"Do you not cherish your life, Qin Feng?"

The arrogance in the question hammered on his mind, and subconsciously, he clenched his fists, circulating his Aura throughout his body.

"I see. You don't cherish it." Keith smiled some more.

"I..."

"You tried to steal something that does not belong to you, Mr. Qin, knowing well that it belonged to me."

Qin Feng frowned as he was cut off, and it was almost as if Keith had read his mind and knew that he was going to come up with an excuse.

"So, you are going to kill me because I tried to steal a pendant?" He voiced out the thought that crossed his mind and received an answer that humiliated him to the core of his being.

"You know that I can kill you, and yet you tried something like that." Keith disappointedly shook his head. "You are a fool, Qin Feng. Just like Azdaar was." He looked back into his eyes and smiled some more. "And all fools meet the same end."

Never in his life had he felt like he did right now.

He felt like he was insignificant in those dark eyes, and that smile on his enemy's face suffocated his existence.

Rage started boiling in his veins, and some very dangerous thoughts crossed his mind. He hated himself even more when his instincts told him to run and not fight.

"No apologies?" n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"No," He braced himself and answered, refusing to be humiliated even more.

"Very well. We will discuss your punishment in a few days."

To his surprise, Keith did not attack him but started walking towards the main entrance, not giving him another glance.

And Qin Feng hated the relief that washed over him.

"Fight me!" He shouted, and he heard his enemy chuckle at his words.

"It's not the right place. And I have to return home before dinner." Keith raised his hand and waved, not even looking at him, leaving his back open for an attack, and kept walking out.

Qin Feng stayed in his place even after he heard the engine start and the car left. His mind was occupied by a myriad of thoughts, but they all made him angry at himself.

Was he truly this insignificant in Keith's eyes?

Was he not even worthy of being considered a threat?

The conversation they just had kept replaying in his mind over and over again, and the fact that he was scared, angered him even more.

How did he manage to sneak on him like that?

But more than anything, Qin Feng was now restless because he felt like Keith had figured out the secret of his flames.

It was a secret he had kept from everyone all his life. His trump card. And now he had let someone who had seen those flames live.

Perhaps, he had not figured out their truth, and logically, it should be the case, but he had now made up his mind.

Qin Feng knew that he would never be able to grow stronger with how much Keith weighed on his mind now. He had become his Heart's Demon. And his pride was not going to allow it to remain to be the case.

"I will make you pay for looking down on me..." He whispered, making a vow, and the golden flames flickered in his eyes. "I will kill you."

On the other side, inside the car, Keith smiled when he heard the System's Prompt, telling him that Qin Feng now hated him to the core of his being and had made the vow to kill him.

He had received plenty of Fate Points for becoming his Heart's Demon, and Qin Feng's Fate Value had stopped rising.

There was plenty of it there for him to steal, but he was not going to drag things and attempt to completely deplete it.

The matter needed to be settled in the coming few days so that he could focus his time on his brides.

And the plan was already in effect.

When he reached home, the girls were immensely relieved to see him return on time.

"I failed, Master." Yingying lowered her head as she said those words.

She had not been able to react in time, and if Iseul had not acted and Feifei had not grabbed the pendant out of instinct, Qin Feng would have succeeded in stealing it.

"Don't be harsh on yourself. The man you were up against is a Martial General," He told her, patting her head. "I will make you strong, and you will be able to stand as Iseul's equal." He leaned in and whispered near her ear, and his words washed away all her worries and insecurities.

Of course, he knew what his Shadow had been feeling lately. And he was quite amused by her frustration.

"Did he apologise?" Qingyue asked, and he shook his head, straightening his back.

"No," He smiled as he looked into her grey eyes.

"What now?" Feifei questioned, feeling anxious in her heart, and everyone in the room looked at him to hear his decision.

"He dies."

It was Rebecca who said those words, and they all tensed up.

"Yes. He dies." Keith chuckled and nodded his head, and then lazily stretched his arms. "We are late for dinner."
