Chapter 844: Chapter 840: Wives Also Need to Be Pampered

Richelle had always wanted to do this, but never found the time.

Now, however, the time seemed right.

When Roy returned home that evening, Richelle noticed his tired expression. After confirming he didn’t need a late-night snack, she urged him to take a bath.

Roy came out of the bath to see the familiar silver needle pack by the bed. He raised his eyebrows at Richelle.

“You’re giving me acupuncture?”

Roy had been recovering well, receiving acupuncture every three days.

But if his memory served him right, he’d just had it done yesterday.

Richelle gestured for him to lie down. “You look exhausted. Let me do a few needles for you.”

Roy obediently lay down.

While administering the acupuncture, Richelle told him what happened earlier tonight.

Roy had no idea so many children’s things were stored in the storage room. “There’s that much? I knew Uncle Axel stored the unused gifts there, but I didn’t know it was such a large quantity.”

Richelle agreed.

“Indeed, more than any small shop could stock.”

Roy nodded. “I should’ve thought of it earlier. But now it’s a good opportunity to take the three kids to the orphanage and see if there’s anything we can help with.”

Richelle responded, “I told Nathan to come with us tomorrow.”

Roy had no objections. “That’s fine, he’s familiar with the process. Let’s have him arrange it. Just be careful with the children at the orphanage, as the people there can be mixed. Let Delroy take more people with him.”

Considering her recent run-ins with the Thompsons and the Lilliputs, Richelle vaguely understood that the Greens were on opposing sides of the situation.

The scope of the interests and fields they were involved in must have been much larger than she knew.

With the incident involving Dylan Collins, Richelle still hadn’t figured out what interest of theirs she had touched upon.

Now, with the William Bailes incident, the situation was real. It not only cut off a money laundering route for the Thompsons and the Lilliputs but also returned the money to Lewis Group.

It was hard to say whether Mason Lilliput would retaliate somehow.

As a result, Richelle, who had always wanted to keep a low profile, set aside that concern for the sake of her and her children’s safety.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

“Okay, I’ll let Delroy arrange it tomorrow. As for you, how many places do you have to fly to?”

Roy had just heard about his itinerary from Benjamin Fred the day before. Starting tomorrow, he would be flying to several cities each day as part of the Federation’s investigation into industrial structures. “Three places, I guess. I will probably spend the next two nights away from home.”

Richelle nodded, “Then tomorrow, I’ll send your prescriptions to Mr. Fred. You need to change your medication.”

Roy had always entrusted Richelle with matters regarding his health.

“As I always say, pay attention to rest. No matter how much medicine you take, it can’t make up for a lack of rest.”

Roy nodded again, but his voice sounded noticeably sleepy.

Richelle knew he was tired, so she stopped talking and let him sleep deeply.

The next morning, Roy left before the children woke up, but he left surprises for them.

When the children found gifts on their bedside tables, they excitedly jumped around, bringing their presents down to Richelle.

Seeing the presents in the children’s hands, Richelle felt a tad bitter.

Roy only had his eyes on the children, didn’t he?

Didn’t he know that not only children needed to be taken care of, but also his wife!

But soon, Richelle realized she had misunderstood Roy.

When the soup dumplings, fried dough sticks, and soy milk arrived steaming hot, Richelle’s eyes reddened.

These items were from a well-known breakfast place in the old neighborhood, where Richelle and her children, Timothy and Tifanny, used to live. A few days earlier, Richelle had mentioned how much she missed having breakfast there.

At the time, it was just a passing remark, and she didn’t give it much thought afterwards.

But Roy remembered.

Amidst his busy schedule, he’d sent the driver to get them.

Of course, sending the driver to buy these items wasn’t a big deal for him.

What mattered was that he didn’t let the small matter go unnoticed.

It was clear that as long as it was something that could make Richelle and the children happy, no matter how big or small, he would remember and do his best to fulfill them.

Not only Richelle liked the breakfast platter, but so did the children.

So when the children smelled the aroma, they shrieked with excitement and gathered around it.

Mother and children happily feasted, and Richelle had Uncle Axel film a short video of them enjoying their meal. She sent the video to Roy.

She sent another message.

“The breakfast was delicious, thank you, Mr. Lewis!”

With that message, the memories of their ambiguous, yet happy old times instantly came flooding back!
