Novel's Extra: I Awakened The Strongest Physique From The Start

CHAPTER 44 - The stakes are high.

The matches continued after that, again decided by votes. But unlike before, everyone's colors were changed.

"What would be the fun if you all knew who you were voting for?" This was what Alex had said when he changed the colors.

If the audience knew who was whom, then it was no different from letting them directly choose who would fight. Alex wanted to leave a bit to the luck as well.

The audience, although a bit disappointed, as they had already decided who to vote, still happily voted. It was a unique thing, after all. They had never been this actively participating in the matches before.

Every time, the audience was supposed to just sit back and watch as the contestants were selected by lottery, and then matches were conducted with people with famous names winning. Today, however, no one knew anyone's name, and without names, it was hard to guess who was who.

Even the most famous person isn't known to everyone in the world, especially when the world they live in is as big as Astralorbis. That was why, without knowing the names, it was hard to guess a person, unless, of course, they were entities such as the leaders of races or the strongest entity of a region.

So, with random yet selected voting, the matches were decided.

Keryu vs. Julius—the boy who was the winner of the last match in the previous round.

Ben vs. Margaret.

These were the match structures, and unsurprisingly, both Keryu and Ben won the match. Keryu's match, just like the last one, ended pretty quickly, but during Ben's match, something unique happened.

"Ben! Is that really you?!" Margaret, who saw Ben from close, shouted in shock and elation the moment she saw Ben, making him frown, but as soon as he recalled the little girl with orange hair whom he used to play with during his childhood, his eyes widened to the extreme.

"Orango!" It was then that he realized that the girl he hadn't seen for more than 8 years—the one whose name he never got to know—was Margaret.

It turned out that Margaret and Ben had known each other during their childhood, being play buddies for 8 years of their childhood, only to be separated as Ben was picked up by a passing powerhouse.

Ben used to call her Orango, a name he came up with, as Margaret never told him her name, but he never thought that the snotty kid from back then would grow up to be a beauty like this.

So, after chatting for a while, Ben was about to surrender, wanting to accept defeat, but Margaret was a step ahead.

"I admit defeat." She declared as she smiled at Alex as if telling him her decision, and Alex, after passing her a reassuring smile, declared Ben the winner.

"I was never interested in the seat in student council; I only wanted to have fun, so after you win this competition, let's have some fun!" This was all she said to Ben before running off backstage, going to get a seat in the audience.

Alex, who could listen to their conversation, just shook his head. This novel had so many plots and so many things to solve, yet Sophie thought that this novel was the simplest one...

[I-I never did an in-depth reading, alright! I thought it was romance-based since I only focused on the chapters related to that!]

Sophie quickly tried to defend herself, as she could tell what Alex was thinking. It was as if she were a cat with her tail being stepped on.

She knew that it was her fault for not being an immersive reader, but what could she do? She made a mistake, and now there was no going back from it.

The moment she got the choice from the goddess, she only remembered the romance and harem part of the novel; she completely forgot, or more like she never even focused on the other parts. It was later when she became the system, gaining knowledge greater than she could ever hope to; she realized just how complicated and complex the plot of this novel was, but again, they could do nothing about it.

"Black and White, are you guys ready? Or does any of you want a break to heal your mana and stamina?"

Soon, with only two participants remaining to fight before the finalist was decided—Keryu and Ben—Alex called them both in and asked the question.

He knew that they were far from tired, as one of them didn't even break a sweat, defeating his opponent even before the poor guy could make a move, and the other won without even fighting, but it was his job to ask, so he did.

"No." X2

Both of them, listening to Alex's words, replied in unison, shaking their heads, their eyes fixed on each other, none having any desire to lose the match.

Ben had just given his word (he didn't) to Margaret that he would win and then spend some time with her, so he didn't plan on losing. He wasn't interested in the student council seat as he didn't know what he could get from it, but due to his promise, he couldn't lose. No matter what.

Keryu didn't want to lose as well. He knew how monstrously impossible it was to defeat the protagonist, as this guy literally had tons of plot armor protecting him, but he just couldn't lose.

His first love—his sister—had her life at stake here. His father has her as a captive, and the only way to have her released is to win the competition in the most overbearing way.

Why would his father do that? Well, although it wasn't forbidden to have incest among demons, Keryu was a useless son until the real Keryu died and the transmigrated Keryu took over. The transmigrated Keryu retained the feelings the real one had for his sister and confessed to her, only to find out that she loved him just as much, but things weren't that easy.

His father had already decided to marry his sister off to some other empire in order to gain more political allies, and Keryu, who heard that, couldn't sit still; he confronted his father about it, and after a long up and down between them—something that almost killed him—his father came up with a conclusion.

"You either win the competition, making the demons seem like the strongest race among this year's students or forget about ever seeing your sister ever again."

So, Keryu didn't have any option but to fight. He still had one Trump card in his arsenal, and if used correctly, he might be able to win the match.

Both of the participants had their own motives and their own goals, and they were both determined not to lose. Staring into each other's eyes, they could gauge each other's intentions.

They knew that, just like them, their opponent had no intention to lose. If that was not all, both of them were strong.

One of them wasn't aware of his own strength, while the other, although fully aware of his strength, knew that the opponent would be hard to deal with, and between them stood another guy—a guy who knew both of their limits.

The guy, Alex, had a calculative glint pass through his eyes as he stared at both Keryu and Ben simultaneously.

"Since none of you have any desire to take a break, I will announce the start of this match in three, two..." He raised his hand, feeling the tension in real-time, and so did the audience.

They could all tell that even if this fight didn't turn out as epic as Mira and Brisk's, the stakes here seemed higher for some reason.

"...one. Start!"n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

And with those words, the battle began.
