Chapter 380 Surrounded
Indeed, Shane knew these Monster Spitters as he fought against them before. They were Zombies stronger or at the same level as Chief Spitter Zombies.
Their bloated bodies were somehow agile… They moved steadily with their acid sacs that bulged ominously. It was even quite difficult to see whether they were about to spit an acid, unlike the normal Spitter Zombies.
Because of that, it wasn't easy to predict their next attack…
"Fall back!" Captain Wei ordered. His voice was urgent as these Monster Spitters were the real reason he didn't want to fight against the Spitter Zombies.
This area shouldn't be too dangerous with Liang's portable barrier generator. However, with the presence of the Monster Spitters, they could only choose another path or fight their way out of here.
"We need to get out of here before those things get here. Let's try again after they leave or use the longest path."
As he shouted this, the Mystic Mirage members also realized their mistake… At first, they tried to shoot at the Monster Spitters, but it didn't take long before they found out that they were in trouble.
Soon, their leader also gave his command as they turned to flee!

The Monster Spitter Zombies charged while also shooting acid everywhere!

Liang quickly deployed his barriers, creating a protective shield around Shane's group. "Just within the barriers! The acids are being thrown everywhere…" he shouted. "We can't let that acid touch us or we're dead."
Bao readied his Minigun, but Captain Wei shook his head. "No shooting! We can't risk an explosion that's too near to us."
The group then steadily moved away, as the reward for killing such a devastating Zombie was incredibly lacking for the effort that they had to do in order to kill it. It was simply not worth the time to kill such a Zombie. Because of that, everyone decided to let this problem pass instead of fighting it head-on.
On the other hand, seeing that Shane's group was able to back away quickly, the Mystic Mirage members decided to scatter and broke their formation.
One of them, a woman who seemed to be injured from an acid spit, fired her crossbow at the nearest Monster Spitter Zombie.
She seemed to have used her talent and exhausted her Spirit Points as the bolt flew like it was comet!
Bang!
The bolt struck Monster Spitter's shoulder! But instead of killing the creature, it triggered a violent reaction!
The Zombie's shoulder exploded in a shower of acid, the corrosive liquid splattering everything in its vicinity!
"Get down!" Shane yelled, pulling Lysandra behind the barrier. Although the barrier was strong, Cloud calculated that the explosion would actually reach them, and it may have the power to destroy their portable barrier!
Because of this, Shane had to use his Aura of Protection and use up over 500 Spirit Points to cover everyone in his group!
Boom!
The acid hissed as it hit the barrier, but Liang's technology held firm… It was able to last for a moment, but another acid explosion occurred, and this time, it finally failed, but thanks to Shane's preparation, the Aura of Protection managed to save everyone!
Apparently, the second explosion came from the other Monster Spitter, who was attacked by another Survivor from the Mystic Mirage Clan!
The Monster Spitter Zombies roared in annoyance as their eyes locked onto the fleeing Mystic Mirage members.
The Survivors tried to regroup, but they had already wasted too much time.
Another explosion rocked the area as one of the Monster Spitter Zombies decided to launch an Acid Blast!
The group of Survivors who were previously looking arrogant in front of Shane's group were now in dire need of help as most of them had been caught by the blast!
It was only a matter of time before they got completely eliminated!

"Don't think of fighting… We need to move now! Follow me and stay low."
The group moved swiftly, using another barrier to shield themselves from the acid that was being scattered everywhere.
With Captain Wei's prosthetic eye, which seemed to have a strange ability, they navigated through the chaos, avoiding the splatters of corrosive liquid.
However, the Mystic Mirage members were being picked off one by one by the Monster Spitter Zombies.
"Since the Monster Spitters left, the ones left in their area should only be those normal Spitter Zombies. Let's use this opportunity to cross this region…" Captain Wei said that there was basically no other path near this area since it would be more difficult to climb the steep rocks.
"Got it!" Shane replied as he also thought that this was a good idea.
Soon, everyone started running as they ignored the Spitter Zombies who were chasing after them…
As they reached the edge of the infested area, Captain Wei signaled for a halt.
"Everyone okay?" he asked, his eyes scanning the group.
"We're good," Mei replied, checking over Shane and Lysandra. "No injuries."
"Let's keep moving," Captain Wei said. "We need to put as much distance between us and those Zombies as possible."
The group then continued their journey. Of course, they moved with caution, knowing that the dangers of the Zombie Outbreak were ever-present.
However, as expected, it wouldn't be so easy to avoid a problem… They indeed managed to pass through the Spitter Zombie's territory, but they were soon surrounded by 20 or so Survivors who seemed to be members of the Mystic Mirage Clan!
