Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 368 The Seige

"Yes! Keep it up!" Gene encouraged, watching as the traps worked effectively, but his relief was short-lived. He noticed that the Necromancer was activating some sort of spell and he didn't feel good about it.

Gene immediately informed Lucas about this, and they started firing at the Necromancer. However, they were simply too far… As soon as the Necromancer noticed that he was being targeted, he summoned a couple of armored undead creatures or perhaps Death Knights in front of him and continued with his incantation.

While this was happening, the remaining Zombie Warriors continued forward and were met with the Barrier of the Bulwark Beacon, which started to glow brightly in defiance of the oncoming horde.

Then, as the zombies collided with the Barrier, arcs of electricity erupted from the Guardian Nodes, electrifying the encroaching foes.

Bzzzttt!

The Barrier snapped with energy as the electric force surged through the undead, sending them crashing to the ground where they only had charred remains!

But the onslaught was far from over. The sheer number of Zombie Warriors was overwhelming, and they continued to pour forth from the back of the Necromancer.

Eldrin signaled to his fellow Elves, and with a swift motion, they loosed their arrows, the projectiles found their marks among the advancing undead… Furthermore, a single arrow didn't just kill one or two Zombies, because of their special technique and the arrowheads made of special alloy, they were able to pierce six Zombies with a single release of their bows!

It wasn't something that could be done with the low-caliber guns that are being used by the Knights at the moment.

With 40 arrows each on their quiver, they would be able to kill hundreds of undead creatures just with their squad!

Nonetheless, the onslaught continued as they realized that even Ghouls were mixed with Zombie Warriors.

"Aim for the heads!" Eldrin reminded them. After all, their arrows or bullets would just be wasted if they hit their bodies. If they really wanted to stop the horde, they had to aim for their heads!

However, the Necromancer already knew all along that his 800 Zombie Warriors and 200 Ghouls would not be enough against their defenses… At this time, he finally completed his spell!

The Necromancer raised his hands, summoning dark energies around him… Soon, in a chilling display of power, he conjured Bone Monsters that stood over three meters!

They were undead constructs formed from the very remains of fallen Zombie Warriors to destroy the barriers!

The Necromancer actually had two options in order to break their Barrier. Aside from summoning the Bone Monsters that could smash the Barrier, he could use the Corpse Explosion Spell to rattle his targets and destroy the Barrier. The number of corpses would also allow him to destroy the ramparts and perhaps kill most of the defenders standing on them.

However, once he did that, his only force would be composed of five Lichs, three Death Knights, and some Zombie Warrior dregs. That wouldn't be enough to deal with the people inside the huge shelter. This was especially true after sensing the presence of the Monk at the inner wall of the estate.

"Get ready!" Alaric shouted as he saw the monsters about to crash the Barrier…

As the Bone Monsters lumbered forward, their skeletal forms started cracking and creaking as they smashed the barriers without stopping…

Bang! Bang! Bang!

As the Bone Monsters were about to succeed, the energy of the Guardian Nodes surged, sending electric shocks coursing through their skeletal bodies. But the Bone Monsters were resilient, their forms absorbing much of the impact as the Bulwark Beacon's energy was fading out…

"We need to hold the line! Super Soldiers! Knights! Follow me!" Knight Alaric said as he decided to attack in close combat.

The three Super Soldiers didn't flinch or show any signs of hesitance.

They swiftly leaped from the ramparts to cause chaos.

One soldier wielded a Flamethrower that would scorch anything in its path. Another soldier gripped a Chainsaw, the revving blade ready to cleave through bone and flesh…

Lastly, the third super soldier brandished two spiked metal clubs, ready to pummel the undead into oblivion.

Thud… Thud… Thud…

As they hit the ground, the soldiers erupted into action, unleashing a torrent of violence upon the approaching hordes. Flames roared, and the chainsaw buzzed!n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

As for the Bone Monsters, they let the organized Knights handle them.

The eight knights, led by Knight Seraph and Knight Alaric, moved unhindered and activated their auras, increasing their strength, speed, and defense…

Clank! Clank! Clank! Your next journey awaits at empire

The knights clashed with the Bone Monsters, aiming to destroy its feet…

With each swing of their blades, they unleashed waves of energy, pushing back against the skeletal monster.

The battlefield was soon filled with the scent of burning flesh and bones and the echoes of clashing metal as the battle continued.

But the Necromancer, watching the chaos unfold with a sinister grin, decided that he had seen enough… He had to end this farce before the Survivors could return!

He raised his staff and ordered the two Death Knights, clad in dark armor and holding cursed weapons, to step forward.

Additionally, five Lich emerged from the shadows, their skeletal forms exuding an aura of malice. They joined the fray with their dark spells, ready to turn the tide in favor of the undead.

These five Lich were actually the reason why the Necromancer managed to obtain a huge number of Zombie Warriors. After all, each one of them would cost him about 20 Spirit Points even after reaching a high level. There was no way he would have more than 15 thousand Spirit Points.

Thankfully, he was able to find a cemetery and use the Lich's natural power to create undead creatures. This was why he dared to challenge this shelter that basically owns the whole region at this point. He knew that if he defeated this powerful shelter, he would be the ruler of this place!

With only one Death Knight remaining by his side for protection, the Necromancer observed the battle from a distance, confident that his minions would overwhelm the defenders.

Even if the powerful Monk was present, he believed that the five Lich could deal with them.

Thud!

The Knights finally defeated one of the Bone Monsters after spending more than half of their energies!

"Eldrin! We need to fall back!" Knight Seraph shouted, sensing the shift in the battle as the new foes surged forward.

The pressure mounted, and it became clear that the defenders were being overrun.

"All defenders, retreat to the inner wall!" Eldrin commanded as he realized that the Death Knight was able to fight both Alaric and Seraph at the same time!

The super soldiers, the warriors, elves, and knights, though reluctant, knew they had no choice.

The order was definitely the right decision as they suffered in the first barrage of Dark Spells from the Lich. They began to withdraw, skillfully fending off the zombies and Bone Monsters as they fell back.

As for the Curses and Spells being thrown by the five Lich, their Auras could barely fend them off, and they wouldn't be able to last long. They had to leave quickly!

"Cover each other! Move!" Knight Alaric urged, rallying the defenders as they began their strategic retreat. Together, they formed a protective line, parrying blows and firing arrows to hold the undead at bay.

As they reached the inner wall, the Aegis Force Barrier was there to protect them!

The Bone Monster was strong but definitely not enough to destroy the Aegis Force. Perhaps, it needed an hour to do so! They knew about this since even the Tyrant Zombies struggled to destroy this Barrier.

Finally, the defenders took a moment to regroup while their hearts were still pounding with adrenaline. They were tired, but their spirit wasn't broken yet. They still have three trump cards they could use in case of emergency.

One of the Trump Cards was obviously the numerous Talismans that Aya the Shaman had made for them!

For now, however, they felt that as long as they rested enough and planned how to deal with the Bone Monsters, they'd be able to win!

In the meantime, the Necromancer also took a moment to gather his strength. He closed his eyes and focused, drawing upon the dark energies around him to recover his Spirit Points.

This respite was important for him.

Once his power was restored, he would be ready to unleash his lethal abilities, including the Bone Spear and the Death Ray. He relies on these two spells to deal with the powerful Monk who was mysteriously watching him from the manor.

As the seconds, the five slow-moving Lich finally approached the inner wall. They were also protected by the two Death Knights while the only Bone Monster surged forward.

"Begin!"

The Necromancer commanded!

With this instruction, his undead summons started to assault the defenders who had retreated behind the stone ramparts.

Of course, the Necromancer also stepped forward... He was ready to join his minions in the assault.

But as he took his first stride, a sudden chill ran down his spine.

He sensed a powerful presence behind him, one that sent alarm bells ringing through his mind.

The newcomer was a tall man clad in an outfit reminiscent of a warlord, and two blades rested at his side…

"Who dares to challenge me?" the Necromancer grunted as he faced the man.
