Chapter 416 Boss Shye is Mighty!
"C-Crowley unleashes his trump cards at the beginning of the match! P-Pardon my surprise, but this is the first time I'm witnessing him go all out if this is even his full strength!" Corey's loud and passionate voice woke everyone up.
Indeed, Shye had a reputation for toying with his opponents for a while before destroying them in the end.
Hence, watching him go all out right from the start was…kinda sick.
It seemed that he didn't want to give his opponents a chance.
Although the Balkrow crowd had already witnessed the power of his trump cards individually, seeing them used together made Shye appear like an invincible demon lord, with the Krevar adventurers seeming like mere mortals who had dared to step into his demonic domain—mere fish on a chopping board.
The apprehensive expressions on their faces made Shye look even more dominant.
Retrieving Adamance and Mithra from the system's inventory, Shye felt the familiar warm sensation course through his body, tremendously boosting his attributes.
Subsequently, he swapped out his scholarly mage outfit with his…now outdated warrior armor set.
'Ughh…I really need to gather materials and ask Meido for a whole set soon…' Shye inwardly thought, unsatisfied upon realizing that showing off would be better if he had some sort of flashy and powerful armor.
The crowd had different opinions though.
[Congratulations! You've earned 43,090 points!]
'W-Well, if this was enough to impress everyone then good enough for now, I guess…'
Unbeknownst to Shye, the sequence of his transformation was nothing short of immaculate, allowing him to capture the hearts of the crowd.
At that moment, it was as though he was the transforming superhero everyone dreamt of seeing when they were still kids.
"Tch, showing off won't help you," Dodge murmured in anger and a hint of jealousy, dashing straight towards Shye with his glaive the next moment.
He then brandished his weapon vertically downwards in an attempt to lure Shye into blocking his initial attack, allowing his teammates, who were also rushing right behind him, to get into position and ruthlessly rip Shye apart.
Dodge was the typical strength and agility type warrior so he was fairly confident in his ability to win head-on clashes.
Against a rookie? There was no way he would be inferior…right?
Unfortunately, he found out the next moment how wrong he was as Shye also decided to charge forward instead of defending.
Your next journey awaits at empire
He then swung the greatsword in his left hand, Mithra, outwards to blow the glaive away before activating a skill.
'Blades of Despair!'
A dark purple aura began to shroud the blades of Adamance, making it appear extremely menacing in the eyes of the approaching adventurers.
Shortly after, before Dodge could even recover his balance, Shye stabbed Adamance towards Dodge's throat.
"NO!!"
"Dodge!!"
Although they were fighting within the confines of the blue dome, Dodge would never have thought that he would be eliminated after just one attack.
Shye's transition from easily blowing his attack away to ruthlessly stabbing him in the neck was simply too fast, making it impossible for Dodge to evade the blow; hence, Adamance spine-chillingly stabbed the Krevar party leader squarely in the neck.
Shockingly, instead of turning into an azure light, he simply felt most of his energy leaving his body, causing him to collapse onto the ground.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Witnessing the harrowing turn of events, Dodge's party members couldn't help but stop charging.
They truly thought Dodge was done for.
Well…in a way, he was already done.
Such a clean, lethal blow would naturally sap almost all of Dodge's energy as the blades of despair would suck a portion of one's mana and stamina depending on the extent of damage the attack would have done.
And since a neck stab would've immediately killed Dodge, the blades of despair sucked out 99% of both his mana and stamina, leaving him helplessly crawling on the ground.
Stepping on Dodge's head, Shye mocked in a soft voice that only his fallen adversary could hear: "Hahahaha! if I didn't hold back, you'd be dead by now. However, for the sake of the event, I shall give you another chance."
Naturally, the party leader from Krevar City felt rage boiling in his heart after hearing Shye's words, however, a hint of fear also crept its way inside without Dodge noticing.
"D-Dodge is fine, let's help him!"
Realizing that their party leader and psychological pillar somehow seemed to be alive, the other six swiftly continued dashing forward in hopes of saving Dodge before the darned ashen-haired rookie dealt the killing blow.
Luckily for them, Shye didn't have plans on finishing the party leader off…for now, at least.
Upon noticing the movements of the other six, a great idea popped up in his mind; then, the next moment, he immediately acted on it.
Drawing his right foot behind him, Shye delivered a forceful kick to Dodge's head, propelling him uncontrollably toward three of his companions, colliding with them like a bowling ball hitting its targets head-on.
Then, with a mighty flap of his mana wings, he turned into a blur that was headed straight towards the remaining three.
Extending his arms sidewards, Shye slammed them at the neck of two adventurers before headbutting the last one.
As a result, all seven were blown backward, barely stabilizing their footing at the edge of the arena.
Witnessing such a spectacular scene wherein their hometown hero sent all of his opponents flying almost simultaneously, the crowd roared in excitement.
Especially enthusiastic was Seira, who had been supporting Shye ever since he barely began his career as an adventurer.
"UWOOOOOGHHH!!! BOSS SHYE IS MIGHTY!!"
Naturally, upon hearing her passionate roar, the others around her couldn't help themselves, echoing her sentiments as though they were Shye's underlings themselves.
"B-BOSS SHYE IS MIGHTY!!"
Even Corey stood with his mouth agape in astonishment.
He initially believed that a one versus seven would be a bit of a stretch even for an (A-) ranked lone dungeon conqueror.
Who would've thought that such a mind-boggling scene would occur instead of Shye struggling to fend off all seven emerald-ranked adventurers?
