As time passed, a man dressed in formal attire appeared, standing atop a medium-sized flying pet beast with a predominantly white body and fan-shaped tail feathers, hovering in the center of the arena's airspace.

The man's voice rang out, echoing across the venue: “Welcome, everyone, to the 336th National Campus Beast Mastering Championship Finals!”

His voice was powerful and spirited, instantly igniting a sense of excitement among the audience.

The crowd instinctively quieted down, directing their attention to him.

He continued: “This year’s competition will be broadcast live across the nation. I am confident that the entire country will witness your remarkable performances!”

“Now, let me introduce the leaders and guests attending today’s opening ceremony!”

Approximately 70% of the audience consisted of students, with the rest being friends, family, and school staff accompanying the participants.

Although some spectators were professionals, the large student crowd maintained order, refraining from disrupting the host’s introductions with idle chatter.

The atmosphere felt overly formal, leaving Qiao Sang slightly uncomfortable with the seriousness of the proceedings.

“Which one is Qiao Sang?” Asked an elderly man with graying hair seated in the first row among the leaders, squinting as he scanned the contestants' section.

“The one holding a pet beast that's snacking.” Replied a balding man next to him, pointing at a specific area in the contestant seating.

The elderly man followed his gaze, narrowing his eyes further.

“Leaf.”

At his command, a cat-like pet beast with a leaf growing on its head, perched on the elder's lap, let out a soft cry. The leaf shook slightly, releasing a green, glowing powder.

As the powder entered the elder's eyes, his vision instantly sharpened.

“So that’s her.” He murmured.

“Has she agreed to let the Treasure-Seeking Demon bypass the arena rules and teleport her opponent out directly?”

The balding man shook his head.

“Not sure.”

The elder opened his mouth to speak but was interrupted by the host’s resonant voice from the center of the arena: “Now, let’s welcome Minister Wang from the Education Headquarters of Chongdao Region!”

The elder refrained from speaking further, instead stroking the leaf-headed pet beast, which then vanished.

As applause filled the air, the elderly man stood and waved briefly to the crowd.

After nearly ten minutes of introductions, the man in the center concluded his acknowledgments of the attending leaders and guests.

Without further delay, he raised his hand and announced loudly:

“Next, let’s begin the pairing for the first match! Please direct your attention to the screen!”

At his words, a massive virtual cube screen materialized above the arena.

Around a hundred photographs appeared, shuffled rapidly, and soon froze into fixed pairings:

Beilun Region, Gao Jianyu vs. Dongjia Region, Sun Yi

Guri Region, Mao Shilei vs. Liaoxi Region, Liao Qiang

Zhitiya Region, Zhou Shanliang vs. Guwu Region, Hu Fan

Tuwei Region, Li Haoxia vs. Zhongkong Region, Xia Fengyuan

Lianbo Region, Wu Hengxu vs. Yuhua Region, Qiao Sang

In total, 65 pairings and 130 participants were displayed.

“Wu Hengxu… Ranked 29th in the divisionals with one mid-level electric pet beast and one mid-level ground-dark hybrid pet beast.” Said Sun Boyi, flipping through his notes. Ꞧ

Feeling reassured, he relaxed slightly.

Even though he knew Qiao Sang had the potential to win the championship, seeing that her opponent wasn’t particularly strong gave him some relief. It was hard for him to maintain a calm demeanor on his first time accompanying a student to the national finals.

Meanwhile, Qiao Sang remained unfazed, immediately deciding which pet beast to summon for her battle.

The matches commenced with the first pair entering the arena.

By the time it was Qiao Sang’s turn, two hours had passed. The host once again appeared, riding his white flying beast:

“Let’s welcome Wu Hengxu from Lianbo Region and Qiao Sang from Yuhua Region!”Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Unlike the elaborate entrances of Guwu’s divisional competitions, the national championship adopted a simpler process. Qiao Sang had already left the audience area earlier and waited in the contestant tunnel.

Hearing her name, she straightened up and stepped toward the light at the end of the corridor.

Back in Yuhua Region, Zhehai Province, Hanggang City, Shengshui High School

The Shengshui Gymnasium was packed with the school’s entire faculty and student body, seated in a circular, tiered arrangement. A giant virtual screen in the center broadcasted the event live.

When Qiao Sang appeared on the screen, stepping out of the tunnel and into the arena, the entire gymnasium erupted in deafening cheers.

“Qiao Sang! Qiao Sang!”

“Qiao Sang! Qiao Sang!”

The uncoordinated voices converged into a thunderous chant that reverberated through the gymnasium, creating an awe-inspiring spectacle.

---

Back at the Arena.

“Wu Hengxu! Wu Hengxu!”

Supporters from Lianbo Region chanted enthusiastically, holding banners that read, “Wu Hengxu, You’re the Best!”

It was the first time in the competition that only one side’s schoolmates were present to cheer, sparking discussions among the audience:

“Which school is Qiao Sang from? Why didn’t any of her classmates come?”

“Maybe they got stuck in traffic?”

“Don’t be ridiculous. There’s no way Zhongkong Region would have traffic issues.”

“Could it be they don’t think she’ll make it past the first round?”

“That’s absurd! She made it to the nationals, it’s a big deal no matter what!”

A student from Guwu Region couldn’t hold back any longer and interjected, “Do you even know the seeded players? Qiao Sang is a favorite to win the championship! With her Ice Xilu, she’ll completely dominate this Wu Hengxu guy!”

Hearing this, a student from Lianbo Region exclaimed, “Oh, right! Qiao Sang was the divisional champion from Guwu Region this year!”

The realization spread through the crowd. They glanced around, puzzled as to why a potential national champion’s school hadn’t sent anyone for support.

---

On the arena floor, the referee signaled the start of the match. Qiao Sang clasped her hands together, forming a seal.

In the next moment, a green star formation glowed beneath her feet.
