At the entrance of the battle arena, various large flying beasts had gathered.

In the Central Hollow Region, the primary mode of transportation was aerial, making flying beasts a common sight.

However, the large size of some flying beasts didn’t necessarily mean a higher level, it could simply be that their species naturally dwarfed ordinary flying beasts by several times.

Such beasts were particularly popular during the annual interschool competitions, especially at the national level of the National Campus Beast Mastering Championship.

With hundreds of media outlets covering the event, the spectacle of majestic flying beasts often captured public attention. Students dismounting from these magnificent creatures would invariably make a grand entrance on camera.

“Look at that! A Titan Seat! Who could possibly be riding a Titan Seat here?” Exclaimed a male reporter with wavy hair and a refined appearance, holding a microphone. He pointed to a silver-gray flying beast gracefully descending from the sky.

The cameraman quickly turned his lens to focus on the Titan Seat.

As students dressed in matching uniforms began dismounting one after another, the reporter grew even more animated.

“They’re coming down! Look at their uniforms, this is Oberon Beast Taming High School!”

“Oberon Beast Taming High School is a renowned institution from the Central Hollow Region! Last year, students from their high school across all grades advanced to the national level. This year, senior student Chen Chao, who ranked 18th nationally last year as a junior, has qualified again. What kind of performance will he deliver this time?”

Another flying beast, pearly white and magnificent, caught his attention before he could finish his thought.

“Wow! A Pearl White Eagle! That’s a rare beast from the Ancient Lianke Region! Could it be that the students riding it are competitors from there?”

Before the reporter could confirm the school of the students dismounting from the Pearl White Eagle, a sudden gust of wind roared through the arena.

A majestic beast with four legs, two pairs of elaborate orange-yellow wings, a long tail, and a body covered in armor-like scales descended rapidly.

Dust billowed as a powerful airflow encircled the beast, creating a barrier that left the students riding it untouched, not even a hair out of place.

All eyes turned to this dazzling creature.

The reporter abandoned his earlier focus, his voice trembling with excitement.

“A Dual-Winged Wave Dragon! Apart from the Imperial Apex Beast Taming High School of the Central Hollow Region, who else could command such a spectacle?”

The camera zoomed in, showing students dismounting from the beast. The boys wore tailored navy-blue suits with gold-emblazoned crests on their right chests, paired with white shirts and bow ties.

The girls donned navy-blue dresses accented with white collars and ribbons. Their uniforms, refined and elegant, stood in stark contrast to those of the other schools.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

“As expected, it’s Imperial Apex Beast Taming High School! Last year’s national champion in the senior division came from this very school. Will they take the title again this year?”

“This year, their star student, Zhao Chuanyu, topped the preliminary rounds held in the Central Hollow...”

While all eyes were on the students from Imperial Apex High, a gray mid-sized flying beast quietly landed behind them.

“Alright, the fare is 522 yuan. Will you pay by scan or cash?” the woman riding the gray beast asked.

“Scan.” Sun Boyi replied, pulling out his phone.

After paying, the trio headed toward the entrance.

Qiao Sang glanced around, noticing groups of students dressed in matching uniforms walking together. She, however, stood out in her school’s lone uniform.

Curious, she asked, “Why does it seem like every school sent so many students?”

Sun Boyi thought for a moment.

“They’re probably here to watch the matches.”

That’s obvious, Qiao Sang thought, rolling her eyes. Rephrasing her question, she asked, “Why did students from other regions come, too? Today isn’t even a weekend, it must’ve been hard to get permission to leave.”

Though unfamiliar with which schools the students represented, Qiao Sang could tell they weren’t all locals. Considering the distances between regions, it seemed excessive for students from far-off places to attend just to watch. After all, getting leave in high school was notoriously difficult.

Sun Boyi chuckled.

“If your school has a student competing in the national finals, it’s only natural for others to come and support them. This is the national championship, after all.”

Qiao Sang paused.

“Does our school have anyone here?”

Sun Boyi: …

Next to him, Liu Yao hesitated before pulling out his phone to type a message.

---

Since its founding, Shengshui High School had never had a student qualify for the national championship in the individual competition. Naturally, they were unfamiliar with the spectacle surrounding such events.

In the stands, students from various schools waved colorful banners, passionately cheering for their representatives. Names of competitors were enthusiastically called out, except for Qiao Sang’s.

In the participants' section, Sun Boyi sat awkwardly. This was his first time leading a student to the national finals, and he hadn’t expected this level of disparity.

He couldn’t help but feel uneasy imagining the upcoming scene where other competitors were met with raucous cheers, while Qiao Sang stood alone.

Qiao Sang, however, seemed unfazed as she observed the arena.

The venue was open-air, surrounded by a packed crowd. Although impressive, it wasn’t nearly as grand as the venue used for the Diagram Veil Region’s qualifiers.

This wasn’t due to the Central Hollow Region neglecting the national competition but rather because they had gone above and beyond for their regional event, using their premier venue.

The First Illumination Beast Battle Arena, on the other hand, was typically used for major high school and university tournaments and adhered to standard specifications.

“Chomp chomp!”

At that moment, a small brown-and-white flying beast passed by, holding a basket filled with snacks and drinks. A QR code hung around its neck as it chirped energetically.

“Yap!”

Yabao’s eyes lit up, and he pointed excitedly at the passing vendor beast.

“Chomp chomp!”

The vendor beast turned back and hovered in front of Qiao Sang, sensing an opportunity.

“Yap…”

Yabao stared at the basket, clearly overwhelmed by the options.

“Just take them all.” Qiao Sang said.

Yabao: !!!

“Chomp chomp!”

The vendor beast cheered, immediately lowering itself to present its QR code for payment.
