Who Let Him Cultivate?!

Chapter 385: 384: Ten Thousand Soul Banner_1

Chapter 385: Chapter 384: Ten Thousand Soul Banner_1

The scent of blood was so strong here that even Vice Headmaster Shi felt uneasy, fearing that there was more than one ancient Unification cultivator.

If he were even more unlucky and encountered a Transcendance Tribulation Stage cultivator, it would be his turn for misfortune.

He felt a touch of relief, fortunate that he had brought Lu Yang along. Even if he were to be unlucky, could Heaven’s Court really allow their junior master to fall here?

“I know very little about the demonic blood sacrifice, so I’ll have to trouble Master Shi with the situation in this small village,” Lu Yang said earnestly, speaking the truth.

Vice Headmaster Shi didn’t dodge the responsibility. He walked to the front door of the most peripheral toilet, pushing it open to reveal emptiness. Bowls and chopsticks were laid out on the table as if the owner of the house was about to eat but suddenly disappeared without a trace, without any signs of struggle or resistance.

Vice Headmaster Shi opened several other house doors, and it was generally the same scene. The traces of life were still present, clearly showing that people had lived here, but for some unknown reason, everyone had vanished.

It was as though someone had stopped Time, moved people away one by one, and then Time began to flow again.

Tao Yaoye felt a chill run through her as she witnessed this scene – it was much like the ghost stories she wraps herself in a quilt to read at night when she was a child.

She carefully gripped onto the corner of Lu Yang’s robe, which instantly comforted her quite a bit.

“Can Master Shi figure out what happened here?”

Vice Headmaster Shi analyzed, “As far as I know, there are two ways to accomplish this: spatial imprisonment and stopping Time.”

“If it’s spatial imprisonment, it’s still bearable. A Unification cultivator proficient in spatial magic skills can do this. However, if it were Time stop, it would be terrible. If Time could be stopped, a conservative estimate would be that it’s by a Transcendance Tribulation Stage cultivator!”

“In my memory, there has been no one who could stop Time. Transcendance Tribulation Stage can only theoretically do so!”

Lu Yang nodded, “Time Immortal can do this.”

“Time Immortal?” Vice Headmaster Shi was surprised, he had never heard of this Immortal.

Lu Yang nodded, “Time Immortal mastered Time Dao Fruit. In terms of understanding Time, they were the first in ancient times, and no one could compare.”

“Is there such a thing?!” Vice Headmaster Shi exclaimed. The way of Time is elusive and difficult to understand, even entry into it is difficult.

He didn’t expect that there was an Immortal in ancient times who took Time as a Dao Fruit. The power of this Dao Fruit once realized must be incredibly terrifying!

Tao Yaoye also looked moved, how casually Senior Brother Lu mentioned an Immortal?

Looking at Vice Headmaster Shi’s big reaction, what he was saying must be something even the Vice Headmaster of the Nine Nether faction didn’t know.

How did Senior Brother know about this?

Has the gap between her and Senior Brother already grown this big?

The shocked expression on Vice Headmaster Shi gradually disappeared. He blinked and turned his head to ask Lu Yang, “What did you say just now? I was a bit absent-minded.”

“Nothing.” Lu Yang thought Unification cultivators could resist the forgetting characteristic of Immortals, but even Vice Headmaster Shi, a Great Power in the late stage of Unification, couldn’t resist the characteristic of Immortals.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

“The probability that the opponent mastering the Path of Time is a Transcendance Tribulation Stage cultivator is low. I am more inclined to believe it is a Unification Stage cultivator who can use spatial imprisonment.”

From the moment he set foot in the small village, Lu Yang’s brows had been constantly furrowed. So many people had died, and the manner of their deaths was so strange. How terrifying must the murderer be?

Killing people under the eyelids of the court, and no one noticed.

What about other villages if Huai’an Village was like this? How many people did the murderer kill?

Vice Headmaster Shi squatted down, grabbed a handful of mud from the ground. The originally dark brown soil was pinched by him, revealing a dark red color.

Seeing the puzzled faces of Lu Yang and Tao Yaoye, he took the initiative to explain, “Too many people have died here, causing the soil to be stained with the scent of blood! But because of this, I have determined one thing!”

“What is it?”

“The smell of blood here is so strong, but the scent of blood shouldn’t be this low. Certainly, someone has transferred the smell of blood elsewhere!”

“I remember that the smell of blood can be used to refine the Ten Thousand Soul Banner, a powerful weapon of the Demon Path right?” Lu Yang recalled the knowledge related to Demon Path.

“Yes, to refine the Soul Summoning Banner, Spirit Summoning Banner, and the Ten Thousand Soul Banner, one cannot do without the scent of blood and resentment.”

Vice Headmaster Shi had a confident appearance. He ground the soil into powder, tossed it into the air, and quickly formed a single handprint, casting a black imprint.

The soil powder was concentrated by the black imprint and floated in the air like silk, drifting off into the distance.

“Let’s go, follow me. If the scent of blood was refined on the spot, it would be troublesome to find, but since the perpetrator first moved the scent of blood and then refined it, I can find the real refining location based on the residual scent of blood!”

Vice Headmaster Shi took Lu Yang and Tao Yaoye with him and flew off, reaching a mountain area several hundred miles away in one breath.

“The trail ends there!”

Vice Headmaster Shi pointed to a position not far away. The three of them exchanged glances, nodded, and walked over while holding their breaths.

Suddenly, Vice Headmaster Shi and Lu Yang both stopped at the same time, and Lu Yang instinctively grabbed Tao Yaoye who was preparing to move forward.

Tao Yaoye looked ahead, it was lush with trees, filled with the chirping of birds and the fragrance of flowers. She couldn’t see any difference from other places.

Vice Headmaster Shi looked at Lu Yang in surprise, not expecting Lu Yang to react as quickly as himself.

“You also realized it? One more step forward and we will be entering a formation!”

Lu Yang nodded, “In ancient times, this was called the Ghost Striking Wall Formation, anyone who stepped into this formation would lose their sense of direction, be confused inside, and finally trapped to death here!”

“It’s still called Ghost Striking Wall Formation now.”

“There must be secrets hidden here, considering they’ve set up a Ghost Striking Wall Formation to prevent people from getting in.”

“Furthermore, there are multiple Array Methods concealed within the Ghost Striking Wall Formation, blocking any probes from the outside, and those within cannot probe outside.”

“Someone must be cultivating inside the formation, unwilling to be disturbed by the outside world!”

“I smell a hint of blood emanating from within the formation!”

“Judging from the way the formation is set, it’s not the doing of someone at the Transcendance Tribulation Stage.”

“Well, that’s good if it’s not someone from the Transcendance Tribulation Stage.”

The two discuss and analyze the formation, inferring what might be happening inside: an individual at the Unification stage set up the formation in the mountains, refining the smell of blood, and does not wish to be disturbed. This is related to the massacre of Huai’an Village.

Tao Yaoye follows in silence, struggling to keep up with Lu Yang’s pace.

Why is it that Senior Brother Lu can communicate so fluently with those at the Unification stage on this matter?

When Tao Yaoye was on missions, she encountered excellent cultivators at the Foundation Establishment and Golden Core Stage. Those people spoke confidently as if they knew everything, but in front of those at the Divinity Transformation Stage, they stuttered and seemed scared. If they encountered those at the stage of Refining the Void or Unification, they could barely utter a word. They lack so much compared to Senior Brother Lu.

Vice Headmaster Shi smirked. He enjoyed disturbing others’ cultivation process, especially if he could drive the ancient cultivators at the Unification stage into the paths of demonic cultivation!

He pulled out an Octagonal Hammer from his Storage Ring, tossed it upward, and the hammer became as sizeable as a small mountain. Each of its corners gleamed with cold light.

The Octagonal Hammer fell, descended like a meteor, intimidating in its momentum.

Crack–

The massive Octagonal Hammer landed as though it struck something, making a crackling sound.

Vice Headmaster Shi rubbed his hands, pressed downward once more, imbuing the Hammer with a new force that shattered the invisible barrier.

Crack– Crack– Shatter–

The barrier shattered, and the smell of blood rushed forth.

Tao Yaoye’s eyes widened in disbelief at the scene before her. There was no hint of any picturesque scenery.

The trees had withered. Rivers of blood flowed. The earth dyed red. Ghostly figures loomed. A sinister wind howled. A shriveled old man sat in the center with a blood-red banner standing beside him.

“Who are you?” The old man abruptly opened his eyes, blatantly disregarding Lu Yang and Tao Yaoye. He glared at Vice Headmaster Shi, his teeth clenched.

The formation he had set up should not have been discovered. The only weak point was the leaked smell of blood which only an ancient demon could discern.

The ages-old demon had no grudge against him. Why would it destroy his formation!?

“I am your grandfather!” Vice Headmaster Shi laughed heartily, called back his Octagonal Hammer, and lifted it to smash it down.

The shriveled old man grabbed the tattered banner to dodge, muttering incantations while evading.

Vice Headmaster Shi dismissed this with casual indifference. In his other hand was a white bone scythe. He swung and hacked at the old man, realizing that the disruption of his formation had caused backlash for the man. The old man was in terrible condition.

Cornered like a dog!

“Is this the standard you set? You’re just disgracing ancient cultivators!”

“Still trying to refine this Ten Thousand Soul Banner? That’s just leftovers from my game!”

“Die for your grandpa!”

Vice Headmaster Shi demonstrated his might, driving the withered old man into retreat. The old man didn’t even launch a decent counterattack.

Boom–

The Octagonal Hammer and the bone scythe fell simultaneously, smashing the withered old man into the mountain.

“Well, well, well, the younger generation is to be feared indeed!” The old man laughed in fury, walked out of the cave, the banner in his hand shimmering.

Vice Headmaster Shi clicked his tongue, “I was complacent.”

“Complacent how?” Tao Yaoye asked.

Vice Headmaster Shi pointed at the withered old man and spat, “I was too absorbed in the fight just now and didn’t realize this old man has been refining the Ten Thousand Soul Banner. Now that he’s completed it, it’s going to be tough to deal with.”

The withered old man’s face was so dark that it seemed like water could drip from it. The words gratingly made their way out from between clenched teeth, giving an extremely discomforting impression.

“This seat unintentionally came upon a massive amount of blood aura – ideal for refining the Ten Thousand Soul Banner. Today, I’ll let you young ones know just how formidable this seat is!”

“Ten Thousand Soul Banner, rise!”

With a howling sinister wind that chilled to the bone all around, countless ghostly figures began to materialize behind the old man. They were massive and seemed to number well beyond ten thousand.

As the old man laughed heartily, the Ten Thousand Soul Banner was fully refined, and the ghostly figures became increasingly distinct.

Lu Yang recognized the figures of these ghosts: pigs, cows, sheep…

“Huh?”

The four present were all momentarily stunned.
