VRMMO: My first Contractee is Yandere

Chapter 94 Against Vampire Knight: Gourmand [1]

The continuous provocations day and night finally bore fruit.

Recently, under orders from the old strategist, Liora had been "intentionally letting vampire soldiers escape." Afterward, she would send a message to the fleeing enemy, declaring:

"I am Liora. I will slaughter all the vampires in the north. I will kill Yoyo too. If you're not scared, come at me."

It was a ridiculous provocation. But it was needed one, cause she was the only stronghold protecting humans on the northern side.

However, the fact that Liora was troublesome became an undeniable truth for the enemy army. There was a noticeable decrease in their sorties in the direction where Liora was present.

The situation was not bad.

So far, several cities which had been on under the control of vampires had been re-captured with great efforts and minimal sacrifices. Although their numbers seemed to be increasing, it appeared that the overall advance was proceeding.

It seems that eventually, an army of about ten thousand will gather at Yggdra, the City of Dawn.

Once the High Humans, who specialize in group warfare, take command... there should be a high chance of victory. Or at least, that's what I've been told.

The concern is the five special forces.

And this time, Liora's mission is to exterminate one of the three knights leading the northern invasion—the Gourmand.

Given her success so far, it's certain that the big boss will eventually come out.

Penny, the summoner and communicator, contacts us via a butterfly.

"I found him, Captain Liora. It's the Gourmand."

"Where?"

"The spot we checked on Elder Gano's map. The most likely location—the Aza Valley. It's ideal for infiltrating Lumalaza."

"Got it, I'll kill him."

If even a single vampire manages to infiltrate a city, they could easily massacre the residents. Moreover, they can increase their numbers—if handled poorly, they could multiply exponentially like rats.

It's likely that the commanders plan to attack the city themselves to make up for their losses to Liora.

But I won't let that happen.

This vampire event, at least the northern part, belongs to Liora.

Losing to Piti of the Demon King's Four Heavenly Kings was more of a blow than I expected. To grow stronger, I need to capitalize on more rewarding events.

I was too soft.

During the First Field Recapture Event, I should have discarded any concerns about stealing others' opportunities. If they lose their chance, that's their fault—after all, that's the concept of this game.

"I will win,GOD."

As for the Gourmand, Penny has already appraised him. Penny is incredibly competent—worthy of her S-rank adventurer status.

She's not on the level of someone like Eucris, but in terms of information warfare, she's top class. She sends her summoned monsters to distant locations and steals enemy information.

When it comes to information gathering, she's a superior version of Gimora.

She would have easily been an S-rank adventurer if not for her policy of only working with people she likes.

Now, let's confirm the information.

Title: The Gourmand

Unique Skill: Blood Drunken Berserk]

Judging by his skill set, he's not the type you want to face.

He's a berserk attacker. And as a vampire, his durability is higher than his numbers suggest. With two berserk skills, it looks like he's going to rely on brute force.

But there's no choice but to fight.

We'll crush him.

It was late at night.

Moving through the valley was a unit of thirty men.

At the rear, carried like a shrine palanquin, was a massive—no, grotesquely obese—man.

He was about three meters tall, but his weight was impossible to guess just by looking—probably hundreds of kilograms.

His face was so swollen with fat that it was impossible to read his expression. The vampire known as the Gourmand clutched a beautiful young woman in each hand.

Both of them were already near death.

The Gourmand would occasionally squeeze them, and a large shower of blood would burst forth, which he drank greedily.

"Delicious! Women's blood, deeeeelicious! Haa, the most deeeliciousss thing ever wooHhh!!"

The girl in his right hand was completely crushed into a lump of flesh. He greedily lapped up her blood and tossed her remains aside. There wasn't even trace a of her being as a human.

He licked the blood and flesh from his hands.

Now the enemy force was down to twenty-nine.

It seems there are about ten more girls being carried along as food... meaning the actual combatants number around twenty.

While licking his now-clean hands, the Gourmand bellowed like a spoiled child.

"Lioraaa! Lioraaa, I want to eat you! The blood of a cute little girl! And you can regenerate! You were born just to be eaten by meee! Lioraaa!"

"Ew."

Even Liora muttered in rare disgust.

I, too, found myself thinking, ew.

The enemy was advancing along the path through the valley. We were waiting, hidden in the forested mountains, concealed by the trees.

All the information we needed came from Penny's summoned monsters. We watched the enemy through an orb that projected their view. There's no need to let them live.

"Alright, Liora, let's—"

Just then, the giant man in the orb met my gaze.

"The scent of a woman... and this exquisite smell... it's a charity just for me!! A woman made just to be my blood bag!"

"Liora, dodge."

A moment later, the palanquin was hurled with tremendous force. The trees, meant as a shield, were mowed down, and Liora's right arm was blown off as she tried to evade.

Then three human girls were turned into lumps of meat and thrown at us.

From the valley came a roar.

"Lioraaaa! You look sooooo tasty!"

The lumps of meat were blown away by a Bomb Lightning spell.

The Gourmand launched himself toward us at a speed that belied his size. It seemed like he wasn't running but propelling himself forward with brute force by kicking the ground.

From above, like a falling meteor, the Gourmand descended, his body drenched in blood, sweat, and other fluids.

I won't let even a single drop touch Liora.

"Darkness Creation, Mode: Smoke."

A smokescreen spread.

At the same time, I deployed a shield to protect Liora from the liquids. Liora silently readied her scythe and murmured.

"Come, Rouro."

Answering her call, Rouro appeared.

Rouro tore a tree from the ground and slammed it into the falling Gourmand. The sound was like an explosion.

The tree snapped, and the Gourmand spread his arms wide.

"What are you? There's nothing worth eating!"

"Grrrroooar!"

"Break!"

Rouro's fist collided with the Gourmand's.

In a single blow, Rouro was shattered into pieces, and the Gourmand was also blasted away, tearing through the trees and vanishing from sight.

"Let's start with a sniper shot."

"Yes... Got it, Master!"

Just as Liora was about to activate Snipe Lightning, countless arms sprouted from beneath her feet, attempting to bind her.

Liora's eyes widened.

In a split second, she unleashed a Shining Burst, creating a pillar of light around her body to repel the arms.

A heavy thud echoed.

It was the sound of a spear piercing through Liora's abdomen, passing through several trees, and punching a hole in the mountain.

Liora coughed up a massive amount of blood.

Had she not reacted instantly, the spear would have pierced her heart.

"Ugh..."

"Despite his looks, he's ridiculously strong."

"I'm stronger..."

"Indeed. And we have the Forbidden Blade."

The scythe technique specializes in anti-vampire attacks, a fatal art for enemies that rely on regeneration.

I decided to wait for Liora to recover before engaging in close combat.

But Liora's abdomen wasn't healing.

"Is... is this a healing block? No, your HP is recovering."

"A curse... maybe?"

"It seems that spear had such an effect. I'll retrieve it. Liora, hide for now."

Liora tried to retreat.

But the vampires weren't alone. Nine more vampires began to charge up the mountain. I called upon Samurai to stop them.

Samurai, taking the form of an octopus, extended his tentacles.

Then, another projectile.

Samurai shielded Liora, and most of his body was blown away. The projectile appeared to be a large rock.

The nine vampires regrouped.

We were clearly being pushed back. I bit my lip, debating whether to pull out a sword from my Item Box.

But Liora acted faster.

A wing disappeared from her back.

"Kokma's Wing, activate—Shining Slash."

Liora activated the recently acquired Kokma's Wing.

One of the eleven arts under the Angel's Factor skill.

It provides a constant buff to "magic attack power" and, when activated, allows for "one devastating magical attack."

The light blade, enhanced by the Forbidden Blade and Kokma's Wing, was unleashed.

The nine vampires were obliterated.
