Chapter 482: Store policies
Chapter 482: Store policies
As Kevin stored the remaining potions in his space ring, Key hesitated for a moment before speaking as he headed toward his office. "Kevin, can we talk?" she asked.
"Yeah, sure," Kevin nodded with a smile, making his way to his office while the other girls resumed their work and reopened the store for customers.
Settling into his comfortable chair, Kevin asked, "So, what do you want to talk about?"
Key still looked hesitant, though not embarrassed, as she sat down in his lap, pressing her small but firm backside against his crotch. "It's about Natalie," she said softly. "She's been asking me every day when you're going to give me a cultivation technique."
Kevin, amused by this, tightened his grip around her waist and took in her sweet, feminine scent. "But I already gave you one," he replied with a playful smile.
Key shifted a little in his lap, biting her lip as she continued, "You did, but I can't give it to my sister. You know... because of the store policies."
Kevin smirked, the glint in his eyes unmistakable. He had put those policies in place himself, specifically to prevent the employees from sharing their cultivation techniques with others. It wasn't just about control-it was about ensuring that those techniques remained exclusive to the store, and more importantly, to him.
"Ah, yes," Kevin said, his voice laced with amusement. "Those policies. I made them for a reason, you know. Can't have everyone passing their cultivation techniques around like candy, can we?"
Key pouted, pressing herself a little closer as she tried to reason with him. "But Natalie is my sister, Kevin. You know how badly she wants to become a cultivator."
"Then tell her to come work at the store," Kevin replied, squeezing Key's ample breasts playfully. "She can get one-heck, even our security guards have cultivation techniques." Now that Kevin had become wealthier, it was easier for him to buy lower-grade cultivation techniques. He had already purchased a couple of Earth-type Earth-grade techniques for the two security guards he had hired. They wouldn't become particularly strong, but at least they could serve as a buffer if anyone ever tried to attack the store. It hadn't happened yet, but who knew what the future might hold?
While some of his other employees had shown interest in different cultivation paths-like Amy, who focused on weapons, while the other three trained in combat-Kevin's reputation in Lucima City was still relatively small. Only a few customers from the city center visited his store, mostly alchemists. But as his store's name grew, it was inevitable that challenges would arise.
To prepare, Kevin was setting up safeguards, building connections, and ensuring everything was in place for potential problems. Of course, he also took time to enjoy some personal indulgences-like the one currently sitting in his lap. Key had started rubbing her butt against his crotch, seemingly forgetting the original reason she came to talk. With a slight blush, she said, "I'll tell her that." Then, with a straightforward look, she added, "Now, can you fuck me?"
Kevin chuckled at her boldness and nodded, amused.
About half an hour later, Key stepped out of Kevin's office, her face flushed, her hair a bit messy. The other girls gave her knowing glances, all of them aware of what had just happened -after all, each had been with Kevin in a similar situation, except for Chloe, the only one still a bit oblivious.
Chloe, confused, tilted her head and asked, "What were you doing in there for so long?" Key blushed, struggling to come up with an answer, then finally said, "Just helping the boss with inventory."
Chloe, satisfied with the response, nodded innocently and then turned to the red-haired beauty standing nearby. With a casual smile, she said, "He seems free now, you can go in now."
Key looked at the tall woman with surprise and confusion as she made her way into Kevin's office. Returning behind the counter, Key asked, "Who was she?"
Chloe shrugged in response. "I don't know. She looked like a model. She said she was an acquaintance of the boss and was waiting to meet him for a few minutes." Key, now checking some items since there weren't many customers around, added with confusion, "I was going to let her in earlier, but Aunty stopped me and said to wait until you came out."
Hearing this, Key blushed and glanced at Sia, who shot her a teasing smirk. Key didn't know what to say. If Chloe had sent the woman in a few minutes earlier, she would've caught Key in a very compromising position-one she wouldn't have been able to explain. Meanwhile, inside the makeshift office, Kevin was surprised by his unexpected visitor: Roma, the widowed wife.
"What brings you to my store, Miss Roma?" Kevin asked as the graceful lady took a seat across from him.
She was dressed in simple yet stylish clothes-likely branded, given her past as a model. Roma didn't mind Kevin's straightforwardness and kept her expression neutral as she replied, "I'm here to talk about the offer you made me."
Kevin recalled the offer he'd made to her about working at his store. Roma continued, "I'm just here to listen. Don't expect me to say yes."
Her tone wasn't arrogant, but practical. After meeting with some of her model friends, they had offered to help restart her career, which could earn her at least 60k units a year-more if she landed good gigs. However, Roma didn't want to return to modeling. She hated being constantly looked at by strangers. And 60k a year wasn't enough to cover her house payments or her daughter's education.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Hoping Kevin might offer something better, she came in, though she didn't expect much, given how small the store seemed.
Kevin's response surprised her. "I pay my employees 15k units a month, but they're trained and knowledgeable about the items we sell. For someone new, like you, I can start at 10k. Don't worry, the pay will increase as you get the hang of things. Plus, there are other benefits -like access to cultivation techniques. Most of my employees are cultivators because of this perk."
