Chapter 479: Magma Vein Alchemy Furnace
Chapter 479: Magma Vein Alchemy Furnace
"Good morning, boss," a young man greeted Kevin as he approached the entrance of his store. He was one of the new hires, brought on by Sia as a security guard. With a shop catering to cultivators—many of whom were notoriously hot-blooded-there had been enough incidents to warrant dedicated security personnel. Sia had hired two men for the job, much to Kevin's initial displeasure, but he didn't mind too much since both were married. He just hoped they weren't the type to stray like his uncle.
Entering the store, Kevin found it as bustling as ever. Customers were scattered throughout, interacting with the five ladies who worked there, the newest being Key, who was still getting the hang of things. Seeing how busy it was, Kevin decided to help out, attending to some customers to ease the load on his employees.
It was the start of the month, a time when the store was usually packed. Kevin made it a point to use the system's merging lottery at the beginning of each month to introduce new products, which always attracted a crowd. Today was no different, with eager customers flocking in to check out the latest items.
He had considered using the merging lottery function at regular intervals to keep the store consistently stocked, but that would leave him with little free time for other pursuits. Instead, he chose to do all the merging at the start of the month, filling the store with new products that sold out almost as quickly as they were put on the shelves. For the rest of the month, when customer flow slowed down, he still managed to earn tokens through other system functions like the ore processor and essence extractor, which were performing quite well.
Kevin was now just 700,000 tokens away from reaching the 1 million mark needed to upgrade the system. He was confident he would hit that milestone before his next trip to the Den, which was still six months away. A significant portion of the 300,000 tokens he had already earned came from selling Crimson Vein Alloy and Replinium. He could have made even more, but he was careful to release only a few kilos per day to keep the prices high. This strategy not only benefited him but also the Demitia family, who had seen their fortune grow
substantially—almost reaching 100 million in revenue within an week, by sourcing the Replinium from the misty mountains and getting earlier start on it.
He could have earned the same amount by selling the raw ores directly, but doing so would have driven the price down to just above the ore's base value. Instead, he focused on selling products crafted from those materials. Two of those products, made from Crimson Vein Alloy, had arrived today. In an initial deal, he had supplied 20 kilograms of the alloy to produce an alchemy furnace, which he received in return. To his surprise, the system had a different plan for how to sell it.
[Item: Magma Vein Alchemy Furnace
Tier: Immortal
Level: B
Price will be decided by auction.]
He was surprised by the system's decision to put the item up for auction. The system had never done that before, which suggested that this alchemy furnace might perform far above its grade. Though Kevin didn't know much about alchemy or furnaces, he understood that high-tier furnaces were incredibly rare. Even the three senior alchemists in Lucima City only possessed Heaven-grade furnaces at best, making an Immortal-tier furnace just a step below almost unheard of in the city.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Kevin was excited to start the auction, knowing the price could easily reach into the millions. If he revealed the furnace was made from Crimson Vein Alloy, it would likely drive the price of the ore even higher. However, the craftsman who had made the furnace seemed to have already left, making it impossible to produce more. So, Kevin decided to sell only one of the two furnaces, keeping the other for Maria.
As the morning rush began to slow down and the time for the auction drew near, Kevin addressed the customers in the store. "Dear customers, if you're here to participate in the auction for the alchemy furnace, please stay in the store. For those who are not here for the auction, we kindly ask you to leave and return later. As an apology for cutting your shopping short, we will prioritize your next order when you come back," Kevin announced.
A few customers seemed annoyed at first, but the promise of priority service on their next visit was enough to send them off satisfied. With that, only about twenty customers remained in the shop, all of them neatly dressed and filling the air with the scent of herbs-clear indicators that they were either alchemists or professionals who worked with herbs.
Kevin recognized a few familiar faces among them, including Simu Teyan and some other regular alchemists who frequently purchased from his store.
An older lady with gray hair spoke up, "Boss men, the post on the CA's website mentioned that this is an Immortal-grade alchemy furnace, so it must be made from Immortal-grade materials. Can you tell us the names of these materials?"
Kevin smiled and replied, "Miss Qela, I'll explain everything in just a minute. First, let me welcome you all to the first-ever auction hosted by Omnistore. Unfortunately, we have only one item up for auction today, but hopefully, in the next one, we'll have more."
He gestured toward Sia, who headed into the storeroom as he continued, "There are a few rules for this auction. First, no threats if someone counters your bid, and absolutely no fighting. Anyone who breaks these rules will be banned for life from shopping at Omnistore. If everyone understands, let's proceed with the auction."
As he finished speaking, Sia emerged from the storeroom carrying a tray with a furnace on it, draped in a black cloth. She placed it on the counter as Kevin smiled at the eager participants. Among those present were students of the three senior alchemy masters, as well as some other highly regarded alchemy masters from Lucima City. It's worth noting that alchemy is one of the wealthiest professions if the cultivator has talent in it.
All of the attendees were at least billionaires in terms of their wealth, and when measured in qi stones, they will be millionaires at least, but he couldn't put the qi stone as currency as system didn't allow it.
