Chapter 412 Dinner at the Waynworth's
"Welcome...Sirs. Master Waynworth is expecting you, this way please."
He offered to take their coats and they gave him bottles of whiskey. Something that was tradition, when one was invited to another house for dinner they were expected to bring something.
There wasn't only Dean Whitmore and Jesùs, but also James. The man who helped Kiro and his friends with the first mission, to Wilfred he didn't look all that impressive.
In any case, he didn't say anything by him being there he instead lead them to the dining hall, where Sekani and Nikolai were setting up there table.
Sekani looked up at them entering and smiled a little.
"Ah, our guests. Thank you for coming." He said walking towards them and shaking their hands.
Jesús was most surprised that Sekani seemed to have been the one who prepared this meal. He didn't remember a time when he cooked for himself. He wasn't even sure he could cook.
He found himself a little impressed that he could do everything he does with his new company but still find the time to prepare dinner meals.
"Please take a seat, dinner will be served shortly."
"Thank you." Silva said.
"Thank you." Whitmore did the same.
James nodded, unsure if he was even allowed to say anything. He may have been from a prestigious family but having abandoned that name, he didn't see himself as one of them at all.
Sekani removed his apron, revealing a suit underneath. He unrolled his shirt and gestured for Nikolai to do the same.
"Isn't this the Black boy?" Jesús thought he looked familiar.
"That's him alright."
"Why's he here?"
"My guest." Sekani answered simply.
Their seats weren't even warmed and Freya walked into the room, wearing a really beautiful dress with Alora as her tail. She briefly greeted the guests and went to sit down besides her husband and Alora sat right next to her.
Nikolai felt awkward being there, this seemed too, adult for him. He regretted coming here today and now he had no way to run away.
"Won't your oldest join us?" Jesús asked.
"Not tonight it seems, unfortunately."
Since joining his oldest brother, both of them have been too busy with the online game. They came down sparingly to eat, both Sekani and Freya understood what was at stake so they weren't too strict.
They were both ordered to come down three times a week, including weekends. Which was a fair amount.
Vada, Angelina and Wilfred came in with the food and served those at the table, Sekani wanted so bad to tell them to seat and have dinner together with them but he knew that would put them in an awkward position, making them greatly uncomfortable and he didn't want that.
"Daddy, who are they, where's big brother?" Alora whispered, well as much as a six year old could whisper she was still heard by the people she didn't know.
Sekani smiled at her and leaned over, "do you know Isla?"
She nodded happily, "Kiro's girlfriend!"
To that, Jesús forced a smile. A vein popped at his temple, he knew it too, that something was going on between the two kids but he was still not ready for his little angel to have things like boyfriends.
It was simply too soon, she had even yet to graduate the academy, she was still very much of a baby to him.
He laughed loudly, "that's her father and the other man is the dean of Kiro's school."
"Ohhh, is Ki in trouble?" She asked as if prepared to protect him from anything the two men would throw at her big brother.
"None of that Freckles, eat your dinner it's going to get cold."
She nodded her and starting digging into the food. Everyone else had already started but it didn't matter since her portion of the food was much smaller.
There were small and pleasant conversations between all of them. But the three of them couldn't wait for the actual conversation they were invited for, Sekani wouldn't dare talk about these things with his wife and daughter present.
While Freya knew about this slave mine thing, she didn't know all the details. Sekani wasn't planning on telling her until the job was done, he knew that she would either stop him from going or stupidly offer to come with.
They already had Nikolai as something of deadweight, they honestly didn't need another.
"That, that food was amazing Sekani, did you cook at yourself?" Jesús had tasted better but he was impressed nonetheless.
"Of course, with my two little assistants, Wilfred and Nikolai." He wasn't the type to hog all the credit.
When they were done eating, their plates were gone from in front of them in split seconds. They were replaced with whiskey and glasses.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
That was the cue for the two ladies to leave the dinning hall and they did without arguing. Leaving the men to their own devices.
Wilfred quickly poured them a glass each and went to stand besides his master, like a good butler should.
"I think with what we're going to discuss you need to sit and be a part of this Wilfred, don't you?"
"Of course sir, he bowed slightly and took a seat."
Jesús had never seen a master of the house offer help a sat where the master sat. It was surprising but he swallowed his words, reminding himself this was not the Silva household.
"I'll get right into it, we know about the slave mine." He didn't take his eyes off them, looking for any hint of guilt in their eyes.
They didn't avert their eyes, instead they widened in shock. Not the kind of 'oh no, you've busted us' a different kind...
"So that's it then, the second piece of the puzzle is a slave mine?"
Sekani nodded.
"That Blakeson, that Black, everyone else! I find myself hoping lightning from the heavens could reach out and smite them!" Grey Whitmore answered to this.
"Seriously, what the hell do they think Sanctauri is? Their own personal playground!?"
The two were fuming with anger, James was doing so silently. Remembering that his family was also part of this.
Sekani nodded to Wilfred.
"We know where it is."
That made them almost jump from their seats with excitement.
