The Dreamer's POV

Chapter 241 The Big Guy

Just as I was about to hover away, the thing revealed itself. The boss, the Muck guardian/demon itself appeared, bringing the fight to me as natives tended to.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

I watched it rise from underneath the black soil, just a few inches away from me. I watched as the soil tore apart and large vines surfaced, its head had large strands of vines running down from it, swinging slowly as it moved.

Speaking of its head, the thing's head was a thing of wonder and confusion. Its head was more humanoid than not, but not exactly the best look. It looked deformed as a lower part of its face dripped. Its face was of different elements strung together to form a concrete appearance.

Part bush, part vines, part muck and part wood, a conglomerate of nature, and it roared exposing its black diseased-looking mouth.

It sent its hand at me hoping to swat me like a fly.

BOOM!

Its arm of muck and thick wood banged against my protective shield and I backstepped recoiling from the impact. Its' neck , if I could call it that, was a joining soft thing of the muck and leaves, with many bright leaves jutting from it. Most of its arms were of wood matter, with black muck and green leaves filling in the crevices across.

Its' torso seemed to be made of hardened soil, it looked rigid–the most rigid part of its body, and sturdy too.

Its legs were just like its arms as were–tough hard things that could cross distances in a stride.

And as expected, this thing was a towering mass of defense. I didn't have to hit it to be certain that it was extremely tough, it was the Muck guardian afterall.

I utilized my absolute appraisal, flying backwards in the air, as muck spittle made their way to me from its cry.

"Seems like you will be fairly interesting, let's see what you can do."

The thing threw an arm at me once again and the result was the same, my Haven protective shield bounced off its arm, and I wasn't harmed in any way.

'Not intelligent?'

"Quite the powerful fella." A smirk ran across my face as excitement was starting to set in, yes, it seemed like this muck guardian demon would give me the thing I craved, which was a good fight–an enjoyable exchange of strikes.

I called upon my trusty rocks, about three of them, and they hovered about me, pulsing with energy, and waiting for my command.

They zoomed at the target, hitting different areas. One struck a part of its torso, another struck its arm and the last struck its head. The impacts caused the collosal thing to backstep, I was hoping it would fall, but it withheld itself and maintained its footing.

And though my rocks sank into the various parts of its body, they didn't cause great damage. I retracted them, intending on seeing what the Muck guardian demon would do.

I could see the holes in its head, torso and arm that my rocks had made, but unlike its minions, it didn't break apart from the strikes.

I watched as the holes closed in on themselves, the healing was microscopic, from the tiniest strands to become the whole, and at a great speed.

I had a regeneration skill too, and though I had never really been in many situations where I had to use it, I understood that it was taxing, it consumed a lot of life energy.

The wounds it received healed completely, like they weren't there in the first place, and once again, it roared.

"Yes, not intelligent in the least."

It threw forward its arms, I was away, farther than where its arms could reach, but from its fingertips were thick strings of muck projected and coming at me.

They coiled as they streamed forth at a surprisingly high speed, thickening as they joined. However, before they could get to me, I struck them down with my energy rocks.

"Yes!"

The slimy mud tendrils bursted to nothing but then, just more streamed out the fingers of the guardian, and again and again I sent my rocks to destroy them.

They increased in regeneration speed and travel speed that they got to me once but with my Haven between us, no contact was made, just a bang on my energy shield.

Seeing that this move was to no avail, it roared, visibly frustrated. I knew that because it actually had an uglier frown that it did at the beginning of our fight.

It roared once more, this one seeming like a moan and a cry of attack.

And then it stomped, jutting rectangles of soil raised and came at me from different directions.

BOOM!

A little wave went across my shield, it felt the blows, but I was unscathed, I didn't move even.

"So that's the stomp."

The masses of rocks pushed against my Haven until they broke, and with another stomp of its left leg, a new barrage of rocks came at me again.

This time, I decided to move, I wanted to keep things interesting and so I deactivated <Haven>.

"It's time to get real." My energy rocks glimmered at my side, and I flipped, drifted accordingly, avoiding the flat masses of rocks coming at me.

I utilized my energy rocks in neutralizing some of them, but there seemed to be no end to them, they kept coming with every stomp, like they were being called by it.

I had to bring the fight to the main self.
