Chapter 331. Viperax’s Anger
Dragon King's Harem Chapter 331. Viperax's Anger
Unfortunately, even with such clear evidence, Viperax did not immediately admit it.
Once again, he concentrated on something else. “Wait, you have a portal skill? Why did I never know it? Why have you never announced it to this world?” he asked, turning the topic of conversation once again.
Viperax's attempt to deflect the conversation was met with a firm rebuttal from me.
I leveled a steely gaze at Viperax, my patience worn thin by his evasions. "Since you were more surprised by my portal skill than that factory, I'll assume you know about it," I retorted, cutting through his attempts to derail the conversation.
My tone carried a hint of annoyance, signifying my growing impatience with his avoidance tactics.
Al stood silently by my side, his expression inscrutable but his readiness to support me evident.
Viperax's expression wavered.
Yet, true to form, he quickly pulled himself together, slipping right into that usual act of not giving a damn. You could tell he’d been through stuff like this before—knew how to brush off the heat and twist the story to fit whatever game he was playing.
Due to my statement, Viperax wanted to speak again. "I never said—" Viperax tried to butt in, but I cut him off before he could finish. I wasn’t in the mood for another one of his excuses and shifted the conversation before he could catch his breath.
Without wasting another moment, I turned to Al, issuing a clear and decisive order. "Al, evacuate the prisoners and bring them here!" I snapped. We didn’t have time to mess around—the longer those people stayed locked up in that factory, the worse things could get.
Al's response was swift and unwavering. "Yes, Your Majesty!" he affirmed, his tone resolute as he immediately pivoted towards the imposing structure.
A transformation unlike any other began to take shape. Al’s form contorted and shifted, morphing into his true essence as a member of the shadow clan from the witch tribe.
With an eerie grace, Al's body stretched and elongated, towering to a formidable height of two and a half meters. His once flesh-toned skin took on a ghastly hue, a sickly shade of pale black-grey reminiscent of decaying corpses.
The tattered remnants of his royal attire faded into obscurity, replaced by a billowing cloak of midnight black, its edges frayed and worn from the shadows' embrace.
The transformation did not end there. Al's eyes, once vibrant and full of life, now glowed with an otherworldly luminescence, their once vibrant hues replaced by a piercing white that seemed to pierce through the darkness itself. Yet, perhaps the most unsettling aspect of his metamorphosis was the way his form seemed to defy gravity, hovering effortlessly a few inches above the ground like a specter of the night.
Al swiftly glided towards the factory. His movements were fluid and swift. The air around him stirred.
Yet, amidst the silence, Viperax's fury erupted once more. With a determined focus, he unleashed his earth skill in a desperate attempt to thwart Al's advance.
The ground trembled as jagged spikes of earth surged forth.
But Al was not one to be deterred so easily.
With a quick turn, I invoked my Shadow Walk skill, my body melting into the darkness before reappearing in a flash to intercept the attack. My outstretched hand crackled with energy as I summoned my fire skill.
‘Fire Pillar!’
Twin pillars of fire to shield me. The earth spikes collided with the fiery barrier, their momentum halted by the searing heat and crackling flames.
The air filled with the acrid scent of smoke as the two opposing forces clashed, vying for dominance in the battlefield of elements.
For a fleeting moment, the world seemed to hold its breath.
- Boom!
The explosion reverberated through the air, its thunderous roar echoing across the landscape as earth and fire clashed in a spectacular display of elemental power.
The billowing smoke and swirling dust obscured my vision, casting a hazy veil over the scene before me. But despite the chaos unfolding around us, my focus remained unwavering, honed in on Viperax.
Through the haze, I could sense his presence. My Dragon eyes pierced through the obscurity, allowing me to track his movements with precision. Even as the dust settled and the smoke cleared, I kept my gaze fixed on his position.
"So, the factory is your handiwork after all," I declared, my voice resolute. Though I lacked concrete evidence to support my accusation, his panic spoke volumes.
Yet, accusing a king of wrongdoing was no small matter, fraught with peril and uncertainty. I knew that I trod on dangerous ground, playing a perilous game of cat and mouse. But, I refused to back down.
