Temporal Pearls

Chapter 331 Failed Transaction

[We do have your stuff. Kindly place your hand on the mat to ascertain it is Red Canvas]

Seth didn't hesitate and placed his hand before he pulled it fast as a sharp blade cut his palm leaving a trail of blood on the glowing mat.

Seth wanted to curse but he couldn't. As the method he was speaking was using the Drumming Scale. He had recorded himself a lot and so like using a computer he connected some words and sentences to give out the response he gave just now.

[We have confirmed. In an hour we will be sending them]

Seth felt as the light became heavy.

[Kindly show us what you have]

"I'm having a hard time talking, how can I deliver a written message?" he asked.

[Use gestures]

Seth snorted before he placed some bunch of fresh embrace on the small circle at the edge of the mat, together with other leaves, fruits and roots that he knew were valuable.

[Are you in Nightmare Forest]

Seth showed a thumbed up gesture.

[Understood. Do you have access to Siprit Plant]

Seth made a thumbs up and inside the light, then the man continues to asked

[Do you have access to Barka Plant]

Another thumb up.

[Do you have access to Auduga, Larai, Aduwa…]

Seth stopped thumbing up and just placed the plant he was being asked about on the small circle until it was filled up and spilling away.

[Interesting]

There was amusement in his voice and suddenly things changed.

Seth jumped back and stood up. His attire shifted to Armour and he held his staff. Little Cub that was sleeping in the womb flashed in the room.

Her bulky size filled a quarter of the office before it bared its teeth at what was happening.

The mat disintegrated and the place became a wasp of thick energy before it coalesced into a figure of a man in a robe. He has a thin one handed sword sheathed and strapped on his hip.

He was an old man with white facial hair and long cascading hair. He has an air of authority, one that was born out of prolonged status.

Seth stood a few distance away from the energy figure, this guy has cut his hand before just to confirm who knows what he can still do.

Seth wasn't that scared though, even if the Mansion was destroyed he had the whole Forest to escape to and he refused to believe this man could do whatever he wanted in a place like this.

"So, you are a Chieftain!" The man's voice has shifted from a computer generated voice to an authoritative voice.

Seth nodded.

"Greetings, Chief Seth Enoch." The man said, his back straight and his eyes straight looking at Seth's face… mask.

Seth cuffed his hand but didn't bow and maintained eye contact as he greeted the old man.

The man looked around and seeing a lot of other things that Seth hadn't even shown, he nodded.

"I would like to have a bundle of each one of the things I have asked and the ones that I can see now. I also want a lot of fruits of any kind you can find!"

Seth stared at it for some time before he sighed disappointed. There was nothing he wanted more but the durability to surpass 2000.

Even though at 1000 the attire protected him greatly he wanted more.

Who knew what sort of dangerous thing he will be facing in the future. Especially now that he knew Medos are on the hunt. As well as humans that want to take his stuff and enslave him.

Seth can only feel like it was because the time of unshackling Gawee was coming closer that why Medos were moving against the players.

He had lost his coins, so he will use this opportunity to have more. Of course, he will feed Gawee Crown Coin's some of them. He knew it would transform into something good. He can feel it.

[Staff Of Elevation has been upgraded]

The old man observed Seth unfocused gaze. He came to know that Immortals have a special connection with the world and can receive gifts just like the Natives have some advantages.

True to his assumption, the moment he gave it excessive aura, it upgraded fast before the attire followed.

Elias ignored that as he focused on the old man that has been eyeing him all this time.

"I sense the curse of Medos on you?" Can you tell me what happened?" The old man's voice was soft and spoke slowly as if not to scare Seth.

Seth stared at him for some time before he put his hand on his facemask and removed half of it before he covered his face again.

The man's composure almost broke as he took deep breath staring intently at Seth.

Seth then waved his hand and red liquid began to write on a whiteboard asking the man why he came by himself as this is a breach of trust and boundaries.

As if Little Cub could feel his intent it growled at the old man, her hair stood on end.

The old man smiled and raised his hand in surrender explaining himself,

"This forest is the heart of Gawee. The last remnant of power that maintains itself by itself. That makes it extremely dangerous but also filled with treasures that everyone in Gawee covets. Knowing you are inside and sane, I can't resist coming to see myself."

"That is still a breach of trust and boundaries!" Seth wrote. The old man's desire was not a reason to do what he did.

"I'm sorry." The old man said sincerely as his head bowed a bit. Immediately, Seth felt his Ego has healed back to normal and even growing.

'Sneaky old man.' Seth frowned at the man's manipulation and he had no way of countering it.

"Hmm. What… do you want to?" Seth asked. Now, he was terrified of the man.

In his short life, Seth has come to understand that the most dangerous people aren't those capable of unrestricted destruction. Infact, those are easier to face. One can either run away until one was strong or face them to death.

The most dangerous people are those that will have you in their palm while you dance to their tune. You will even know you are dancing for them but you will gladly do it.

In the real world, the concept of slaves exists but slavery is prohibited. Unfortunately, slaves still exist but with different names.

All lower classes are slaves to the higher class but for the sake of control, they sugar-coated everything and made people believe they were free.

This old man bowed and apologized which brought Seth with benefits, one of the things he needed. This alone will make Seth want to see the old man in a good light.

As of now, Seth was already predicting the old man will try to help him heal his wounds and by doing so, he will be indebted to the man's help.

The worst part of this was that Seth indeed needed the help but how far will the old man go in requesting payment.

Seth's eyes never left the old man and so did the old man.

"What type of Medos did you face?"

Seth took a breath and waved his hand, the red liquid moved and weaved into the creature he faced. The old man frowned again as he observed it.

"You know about Human Medos?" The old man asked and Seth squeezed his staff in fear while Little Cub burst with Beast Force and snapped as if it was going to attack the old man.

"It has guided many other Medos toward its path but failed to create something similar to it. This one is one of them. Physically weak but cunning, intelligent and fed on mental energy and sanity!"

Seth's heart calmed down a bit, feeling sweat cooling when he realized that things weren't the famous creature.

"How are you still sane?" The old man asked.

"Can we have a transaction? I have a lot of things to do…" He waved his hand and began to write down when his vision blurred and he found himself on a circle made with human blood.

There were soldiers in full body radiant plate armour, each 3 meter tall, holding halberd. Their gaze was bright red as they stared at him.

A strange light casted on him, his wrists to fingers glowed with red light. His face was dark red, almost choking him.

After some moment, the gaze of the soldier subsided and they vanished, leaving Seth alone in the room.

About 10 minutes later, a door opened and the old man walked inside full of smiles and he said,

"We have to do that to make sure you are who you said you are."
