Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 421 Quarrel

After talking about all the necessary things, Nathan and Alavenya chose to head to the inn first and waited for the manager to gather all the information before making their move.

Still, Nathan couldn't help but discover Alavenya's habit when they were heading to the inn.

"Mhmmm." While munching on a fresh fruit, she raised her finger. "Aunty. Give me this one."

"Chicken stick? Give me a second."

Yeah, Alavenya seemed to be eating a lot. She had been munching things this whole time.

Every step they took, they would hear the crispy sound of the apple being crushed in her mouth.

"Whoa. This is the first time I know you are a big eater." Nathan looked impressed.

"What? Dealing with you is exhausting, so I need to replenish my calories."

"What calories…" Nathan smiled wryly while lowering his vision. "Have you been eating this much this whole time?"

"Hmph. Mind your own business."

"Nothing. I'm just impressed. Even though you eat that much, you are still… How do I say this? Your body is just perfect. No fat, right?"

"I train a lot, so there's no way I'll get fat. If I don't eat this much, I will just have no energy." Alavenya shrugged.

Nathan sneakily moved his hand toward the bag of apples before Alavenya suddenly slapped his hand away.

"What?" Alavenya glared at him.

"Just one won't hurt, no? Give me one."

"No." Alavenya harrumphed before thinking of an idea. "If you want, how about begging me?"

Nathan clicked his tongue. "Then, don't mind it."

For the first time in their fight, she finally saw Nathan getting frustrated. This might be her way of annoying the heck out of him. If she succeeded, Nathan would be the one losing against her.

As soon as they reached their inn, Nathan raised his finger. "A room for two, please."

"What?! Two rooms!" Alavenya hissed.

"Why do you need two rooms? Even your father has given his consent. He said everything I decide to do won't get any complaints from him." Nathan shrugged.

"Do you think you can use my father as an excuse the whole time?"

"Of course not. I'm an honorable person. Wait. Do you think I would do something to you? No, are you expecting something?" Nathan grinned, teasing her.

"Huh? Are you joking?"

"Oh. Don't tell me, you are actually scared?" Nathan smirked.

"Who says I'm afraid?" Alavenya glared at the receptionist. "Fine. One room. Two single beds."

"I can't do anything, you know. Even your father will kill me if I do something to you, so you don't have to worry." He shook his head helplessly.

"Hmph!" Alavenya paused for a moment. "That's right. What's the best menu you have here?"

"We have grilled pork belly."

"Give me eight sets."

"Control your eating habit."

"Mind your own business. And none of them are for you."

"I know, I know." Nathan chuckled. "I will get one set. I'm already full just looking at her."

"You!" Alavenya ground his forehead in frustration.

"Hahaha. Ouch." Nathan just laughed while raising both his hands. "This is the ninth time, by the way!'

"You…" Alavenya gritted her teeth and ultimately stopped.

"Here is the key." The receptionist smiled wryly, wondering if their relationship was good or bad.

Nathan nodded. "Thank you."

"See, you're attracting attention." Nathan pointed to the side.

Because of their quarrel, the people couldn't help but look at them, wondering what was going on.

Alavenya was speechless. She was so consumed with her frustration and anger that she forgot that she was still in public space.

Before she got too embarrassed, Nathan pushed her back with both hands while saying, "Alright, alright. Let's go upstairs."

It was as if Nathan were saving her from embarrassment.

"Don't push me." Alavenya snarled.

"Yeah, yeah." Nathan hollowly laughed and continued to push her until they couldn't be seen anymore.

It didn't take too long for them to reach their room.

"You…" Alavenya didn't know what to say.

Nathan raised two fingers. "In any case, since we already know what we are going to do, we'll be splitting our job. You will be the one observing the people to ensure they don't sneak in while I guard their storage. This way, none of them can be stolen."

"Wait. I should be the one guarding the storage. Observing people is not my forte."

"I have told you to follow my arrangement. And I won't take no for an answer." Nathan snorted.

"You bastard. I'm not done with you!" Alavenya immediately looped around him and ground his head with her knuckle.

"This is why you have to fix your anger issue. At this rate, it's going to take a long time. Oh wait. If that's the case, does that mean you actually want to stay with me for a long time? After all, I have to do it until I manage to fix your anger issue.

"I never thought you would be like that. It turns out I have been wrong. You're the one who is excited to see me." Nathan acted shy, as if he was embarrassed knowing that fact.

"What did you say? How dare you slander me?" She gritted her teeth.

"What slander? You're the one who doesn't want to fix your anger issue."

"You're the one making me mad the whole time!"

"Just admit it. Hahahaha. You're just too embarrassed to admit it. No, wait. Was this the reason the Dragon King was adamant in asking me to bring you to the academy even though I rejected him at first?"

"Who is embarras—" Alavenya wanted to shout again, but she abruptly noticed his words.

That was right. Nathan previously said she thought too highly of herself if she thought Nathan was taking the mission to get her into the Frexia Academy and that her father didn't care if she went to the Frexia Academy or not.

And Nathan had just said something that contradicted everything that had transpired this whole time.

Alavenya's gaze turned sharp. She pulled Nathan's head back so that he could see her in the eye while asking, "What did you say earlier?"n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
