Chapter 1436: Essence Xing World’s Stargazer

Chapter 1436: Essence Xing World’s Stargazer

After Shang Xia learned of his External Avatar’s intention, he knew that the bait attempt was bound to fail.

The reason was simple. Shang Xia, a fifth tier True Immortal, had been protecting the Star Beast Nest for a long time. When he left, he was discovered and the Essence Xing World quickly determined his absence. As such, Kou Chongxue took up his post there in Shang Xia’s place.

It had been several years since Shang Xia’s absence was discovered and the Essence Xing World nearly launched an attack on the Star Beast Nest, but they discovered the presence of a second tier True Immortal.

Even if the members of the Essence Xing World were fools, there was no way they would believe that the Spirit Luxuriant World only sent a second tier True Immortal to protect the Star Beast Nest like what they could see.

After Shang Xia’s soul arrived, he knew that the experts of the Essence Xing World wouldn’t fall for it. Not to mention the fact that the fleet they sent was a mere merchant team and they didn’t have the capabilities to siege the Star Beast Nest. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Nothing could be hidden from Shang Xia’s soul, and he discovered the presence of another True Immortal in the fleet. The Essence Xing World naturally didn’t just send 1 True Immortal. However, they didn’t send any high-level True Immortals either. It showed that they didn’t plan to attack the Star Beast Nest.

Shang Xia’s External Avatar found it a pity after realizing they wouldn’t be doing anything. He no longer hid his aura after Shang Xia’s soul descended and even though he didn’t deliberately show off his cultivation, it was enough to shock the True Immortals of the Essence Xing World.

“The members of the Spirit Luxuriant World are truly crafty bastards. A fourth tier True Immortal actually pretended to be a second tier True Immortal... What is he planning to do in the first place? Bait us over and kill us all?” The second tier True Immortal on board the main ship grumbled.

“They’re trying to probe our attitude.” The hidden third tier True Immortal mumbled, “What we should be taking note of is the new high-level True Immortal of the Spirit Luxuriant World. From the information we obtained from the Essence Hong World, there should only be 3 high-level True Immortals. Looks like the fourth has appeared.”

The second tier True Immortal snorted in contempt, “So what? The Spirit Luxuriant World has 16 True Immortals at best. Their strength is barely comparable to 2 of our Elysium-level factions at best. If matched against the Dynasties, even if their Martial Emptiness Realm Sages don’t show themselves, any dynasty would be enough to suppress the Spirit Luxuriant World. If not for the special properties of the Star Beast Nest, why would we be so careful when dealing with a Spirit World?”

The third tier True Immortal grunted in approval, but inwardly, he disagreed with the second tier True Immortal of the Chen Dynasty.

“Right, how are things over at Master Ge’s side? Is our Stargazer making any progress?” The second tier True Immortal might have a lower cultivation realm, but from the way he was speaking, he seemed to be the leader among them.

Shaking his head, the third tier True Immortal sighed, “There shouldn’t be much progress. Stargazer Ge once said that the connection between this Star Beast Nest and the Spirit Luxuriant World is extremely hidden. He is unable to even locate an approximate spot in the sea of stars, and with the disruption of the chaotic streams, it’s even more difficult for him to do anything.”

The second tier True Immortal snapped in annoyance, “How much benefits has Ge Hongshou taken from all of us? How much resources has my dynasty provided? A mere Martial Dipper Realm expert can tell us that he’s a Stargazer, but no one can verify his authenticity. His status is the same as us, True Immortals, but he can’t even make any progress. He’s even using such a bad excuse to brush me off... He seems more like a fraud who’s stealing our resources!”

A strange look flashed in the eyes of the third tier True Immortal and a reminder quickly left his lips, “Lord Hou, please be careful of what you say. After all, he’s favored by many people in the dynasty. Even the emperor bestowed him with a lot of gifts. The Star Observatory was also constructed to his specifications. Lord Hou, it’s best not to offend someone like him.”

Snorting softly, the second tier True Immortal no longer spoke. However, the look of disdain couldn’t be hidden.

When they were conversing with each other, Shang Xia’s true body had already entered Star Beast Nest No.2 without anyone discovering his presence.

As soon as he entered, he appeared in a secret courtyard that had been constructed for him. He activated layers of restrictions before taking out a bunch of intricate resources that looked similar to the Star Observation Compass.

When he was thrown around in the spatial storms earlier, the compass was completely destroyed. However, Shang Xia noticed a layer of faint light coming from the compass when he was making his way over, and the needle looked like it was vibrating violently, seemingly attracted to something in the void. Shang Xia looked in the direction and saw that it pointed to the Essence Xing World’s fleet, and curiosity got the better of him.

One had to know that when Yuan Qiuyuan made the compass, there was only 1 goal in mind and that was to find Star Beast Nest No.2.

After it was damaged, Shang Xia didn’t know what changes it had undergone, but it looked like something changed. He wanted to get to the bottom of the matter.

It wasn’t too difficult for him to understand what was happening with the compass now that he had arrived in the Star Beast Nest.

He traveled through the chaotic streams alone to temper himself and prepare for the comprehension of his martial intent. However, there were many experts in the Star Beast Nest at the moment and they were clearly not Shang Xia. They didn’t fly over to the Star Beast Nest on their own.

Shang Xia quickly sent a transmission over to the institution to summon someone and not long later, the Five Element Teleportation Formation activated and Xin Lu appeared in the Star Beast Nest.

Ever since Shang Xia dragged her out from the Star Origin Dao Field, she rarely showed her face outside. She had been hiding in the Tongyou Elysium and the core regions of the Tongyou Institution most of the time.

It was her first time stepping out from the institution after so many years.

Because no one knew that Shang Xia had entered the Star Beast Nest, Xin Lu was brought to his External Avatar before being led to his courtyard.

“Take a look at this. What’s going on?” Shang Xia handed the broken compass to Xin Lu the moment she arrived.

She knew that there had to be a reason she was summoned and she quickly started to inspect the Star Observation Compass. She revealed a look of shock and gasped, “This... The compass was disrupted by a common origin. Are there Stargazers in the Star Beast Nest?”

“Huh?” Shang Xia was taken aback by her sudden request. He looked at the Star Ships floating outside and seemed to understand what happened. “We don’t have Stargazers here, but... Seems like there should be a Stargazer in their fleet.”

Shang Xia turned to look at Xin Lu as he continued, “Do you know what they’re trying to do? Why did they cause the compass needle to point in another direction?”

“They’re probably trying to locate our world by using the connection to the Star Beast Nest. In my opinion, they’re wasting their time. Our world isn’t connected to the Star Beast Nest by a spatial tunnel. Instead, we used the Five Element Teleportation Formation. Even Yuan Qiuyuan wouldn’t be able to locate the Star Beast Nest if he didn’t know where it was in the first place. There’s also a region of chaotic space between us...” She muttered.

Xin Lu might have just reached the Martial Dipper Realm, but she was a Stargazer. Her status in the Tongyou Institution was extremely high and she knew some high-level secrets. That included their contact with other worlds outside the Star Curtain, among other things.

Shang Xia thought for a second and mumbled, “There’s no need to care about the position of our world. They won’t be able to find it... However, that leaves one thing. That’s a path that leads into the Heaven Observation Field through the Star Curtain.”

Xin Lu continued to think and she answered, “They don’t know about the Five Element Teleportation Formation and they would definitely continue to attempt to locate our world since they don’t know it’s futile. Whatever it is, they should have tried many times already.”

“Oh.” Shang Xia grunted before communicating with his External Avatar. He quickly confirmed her guess. In recent years, the Essence Xing World had been carrying out constant trade with the Spirit Luxuriant World and a fleet would come at regular intervals.

“You’re right. The Stargazer of the Essence Xing World should have hidden in the fleet and he probably came by many times already.” Shang Xia’s reply caused Xin Lu to become a lot more confident in her guess.

She seemed to have thought of something and continued, “Right, when did your compass start to show signs of deviation? Did you seal it off the moment you discovered it?”

Shang Xia sighed helplessly, “It happened when I was traveling to the Star Beast Nest. I was swept up by a powerful spatial storm and I couldn’t pay attention to the compass. The next thing I knew, I noticed the deviation of the compass. When I discovered it pointed to the Essence Xing World’s Star Ship, I felt that something was wrong.”

Xin Lu shook her head in response. “There’s no doubt about it. The hidden Stargazer definitely sensed your presence. However, he can only feel an approximate location and he doesn’t know your identity either. However, he probably has no doubt you’re a True Immortal.”

“Hm?” Shang Xia’s eyes narrowed slightly .”Do you mean to say that they will be able to track me with this compass and determine my location?”

Xin Lu thought for a moment before she answered, “With me here, we will be able to track them down the same way they’re locked onto you.”
