Chapter 125: Abigail Doesn’t Want to Lose Teddy

Chapter 125: Chapter 125: Abigail Doesn’t Want to Lose Teddy

Pullan was very painful and frustrated.

However, these emotions did not spread to Abigail. She continuously observed Brandon Piers’ condition on the way.

After surgery, the most concerning issue was fever. They had just been running in the underground parking lot. She could not guarantee that this man had no postoperative complications. Finally, they entered the city center hospital. The hospital’s surgeons took over, hooked up all the instruments, and the data returned to normal. Only then did Abigail breathe a long sigh of relief.

But as her mood slightly relaxed, Abigail turned her head and saw the despairing Pullan. She frowned. “He’s temporarily fine. I’ve called the police. They will arrive soon. Check the situation at Piers’ Mansion and report to Elder Piers.”

“Okay.” Even though he felt sad, Pullan knew it was not the time to vent his emotions. There were more important matters he needed to handle.

After giving instructions, Abigail collapsed outside the ICU. Brandon was temporarily fine, but what about Teddy?

She had not seen the little guy for more than six hours and did not know what was happening at the Piers’. Her whole body ached, and her heart was tense.

After Pullan finished his call, she hurriedly looked over. “How is it? Where is Teddy?”

“Couldn’t get through. But Young Master Roberts is on his way to the hospital. Elder Piers was trapped at Sincere by Uncle Piers’ people, using health as an excuse. They are in a standoff with the guards left by Brandon.” Pullan replied dryly.

Abigail’s face turned pale. If Elder Piers was trapped at Sincere, then Teddy was in even greater danger.

“Miss Abigail, don’t worry. When the Second Young Master was on the operating table, arrangements were made. The little young master’s life would not be in danger, even if they took him. Besides, if the Second Young Master died during surgery, and his biological son met with an accident, it would raise suspicions about the Second Young Master’s death for the investigation agency. So even if they took the little young master, they wouldn’t harm him.” Pullan had calmed down. Although he said this, he knew that the little young master’s safety was only temporary.

Once the Second Young Master’s estate was settled, it would mean that the little young master lost his protection.

So while the Second Young Master was still alive, they had to find Teddy and ensure his safety.

That was the Second Young Master’s only child. If the Second Young Master didn’t make it through this time, the Piers’ line would be completely gone.

“I have to go back to the mansion. Stay here and wait for Young Master Roberts. Don’t let anyone slip into the ward.” Abigail reminded him once again before leaving. She had to return to the mansion to find Teddy.

“Miss Abigail…”

“I’ll act accordingly.” Abigail interrupted Pullan. Although Teddy could be temporarily safe, no one could guarantee the enemy wouldn’t go crazy and torture the little guy.

A baby under three months old, just a meal or two without food, could cry hysterically and lead to pneumonia. Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Abigail wouldn’t take that risk.

Regardless of her own attachment during this period, she couldn’t abandon Teddy simply for the sake of the original owner.

She had been in this body for nearly three months. Although it was tough, she survived. And Teddy was saved by that genuine plump girl at the cost of her life. She had to protect him.

After saying that, Abigail ignored Pullan’s reaction and rushed out of the city hospital.

She hailed a cab and headed straight for the Piers’ mansion on the hillside.

She urged the driver along the way, reducing the one-hour drive to forty minutes. When Abigail got out and rushed to Piers’ Mansion, she realized the place was eerily quiet.

Unlike the usual tranquility, it was the quietness of lifelessness.

It made people feel uneasy.

Abigail’s heart tightened bit by bit, her mind filled with George Piers’ fair little face and bright eyes, which had a semblance to hers. He recently learned a new trick and would giggle when teased.

That laugh could heal everything in the world. Abigail did not want to lose it.

“Teddy, Kelly… Butler? Aunt Tracy…”

No one responded to her. It was June, but Abigail’s body felt like it was falling into an ice cellar, shivering from the cold.
