In the Jade Empire, the teleportation formation within Storm City's fortress flared with radiant white light, releasing waves of spatial energy into the air. Moments later, a formidable army dressed in black armor emerged, numbering approximately three thousand soldiers.

These were the elite forces returning from the Northern Fortress. The remainder of the troops were scheduled to arrive in Jade City over the next few days.

The soldiers who arrived first wore relatively relaxed expressions; some even appeared joyful, as though they had just emerged victorious from a hard-fought battle.

As the black-armored troops marched out of the teleportation formation, a pitch-black carriage emerged behind them. Inside the carriage, Richard had discarded his armor, his face clouded with a grim expression.

The soldiers outside—and even those stationed at the Northern Fortress—believed that Richard had triumphed over Emperor Beta of the Sky Empire, securing a decisive victory. Yet, the bitter truth was far from it: Richard had relented. He had been forced to agree to Emperor Beta's terms.

"I need to fix the internal issues before addressing external threats. I did nothing wrong," Richard muttered, his fists clenched tightly as his body trembled. His gaze was fixed straight ahead. "It’s not my fault! This is all because of you, Alicia!"

"Head for Jade City immediately!" Richard barked, throwing open the carriage window.

Upon hearing his command, the expressions of the black-armored soldiers shifted, and the air grew heavy with tension. Without hesitation, the massive force moved out, making their way toward the next teleportation anchor.

Meanwhile, in Jade City, the atmosphere was equally, if not more, tense.

Guards patrolled the city incessantly, their bloodshot eyes and hardened expressions betraying their exhaustion. Many had been on duty for nearly twenty-four hours, leaving them irritable and on edge.

What weighed on them most was the immense pressure from their superiors, who had issued a strict ultimatum: they had until midday tomorrow to locate the elusive succubus.

The mere thought of failing their mission sent chills down their spines and filled their minds with dread.

With their minds burdened by such stress, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor was out of the question.

"Martial law again?" Taurus muttered, his tone laced with frustration, as he sat in the Adventurers' Guild.

He had intended to grind levels with his guild that night, but Jade City had been placed under curfew at sunset, prohibiting anyone from entering or leaving.

"I’m not sure. This seems to be limited to Linhnan. The other servers haven’t been affected," S.K.Y. remarked indifferently, adjusting his imaginary gold-rimmed glasses.

"Could this be because they still haven’t found that succubus?" Taurus asked, idly tapping his fingers on the table.

"That’s the most probable explanation," S.K.Y. replied.

"What a troublesome woman." Taurus shook his head and turned to S.K.Y. "Who knows how long this will drag on? Forget it—have everyone inside the city log off and rest. The ones outside can keep grinding."

"Understood," S.K.Y. replied as he opened the Guild interface and sent a public announcement.

"What a killjoy," Taurus grumbled, slamming the table in frustration before opening his game interface and logging off.

S.K.Y. adjusted his imaginary glasses and muttered cryptically, "Killjoy? I wouldn’t call it that." For a brief moment, his eyes flashed a deep blood-red, a strange phenomenon that disappeared almost as quickly as it had come.

It was so fleeting that it seemed as though it had never happened at all.

In real life, aboard the [City of Chaos], the atmosphere was calm yet watchful.

"Master, the target has begun moving," Little Blue reported, her gaze fixed on the virtual screen in front of her.

"Heading straight for Jade Flower Garden?" Yaeger asked, her tone calm but her eyes sharp.

"Precisely," Little Blue confirmed with a nod.

"Doesn't he realize that reckless actions always lead to failure?" Yaeger commented, raising an eyebrow.

"It’s pretty obvious that this Hank holds a deep grudge against you, Master," Little Blue replied with a sly smile.

"I don’t even know him. What’s there for him to resent?" Yaeger sighed in exasperation.

"It’s probably the guy sitting beside him—the fatty looks like he’s full of grudges," Little Blue remarked with a casual shrug.

"Don’t bother with the details. Just inform me when they’re about to arrive," Yaeger instructed, raising her teacup to take a sip of the fragrant brew.

Meanwhile, Vera 17 and 18 were busy tinkering with a brand-new device gifted to them by Little Blue. Though referred to as a "calculator," the device was actually a sophisticated smart terminal, capable of being operated directly through one’s consciousness. Its convenience was unparalleled.

"This is amazing. I hacked into it effortlessly! Hehe, now let’s see what Master’s enemies look like," Vera 17 chuckled mischievously as she tapped the virtual screen, which immediately displayed live video footage.

Judging by the crystal-clear quality, it was obvious the footage came from a traffic camera.

"They’re just about to pass by… Ugh, damn it! Their car has tinted windows!" Vera 18 pouted in frustration.

At that moment, a luxury sedan sped down the road. Inside, Hank, who had been resting his eyes, suddenly opened them wide. ‘Strange… I have a weird feeling, like someone’s watching me,’ he thought, scanning his surroundings.

He glanced around but saw nothing except the blur of the urban landscape rushing past the car. ‘Was it just my imagination?’ he wondered.

Pushing the thought aside, he turned to Doug, who sat beside him, and asked, "Doug, how exactly do you want her to die?"

"Twist off her head… No, wait! First, break her limbs. Then, slice her gut open, pull out her intestines, and strangle her to death with them!" Doug’s face contorted with malice as he spoke with disturbing enthusiasm.

‘That’s way too grotesque,’ Hank thought, frowning at the suggestion. Unwilling to stoop to such depravity, he replied flatly, "Let’s just see how things play out."

"Hank, I’ll remember this favor for the rest of my life!" Doug trembled with emotion, his voice thick with tears.

"We’re sworn brothers; there’s no need to be so formal," Hank said solemnly, patting Doug’s shoulder. "Besides, that [Princess] dared to offend Dragonbane Mountain. She must face the consequences!"

The luxury sedan continued speeding down the road. Five minutes later, it pulled up near Jade Flower Garden.

"Based on the intel from [E-Fairy], [Princess] is hiding somewhere in this area," Hank said as they stepped out of the sedan, surveying their surroundings.

"We have to search for her ourselves?" Doug grumbled, his tone laced with annoyance. His impatience was evident—he was itching to tear that damned woman apart right then and there.

"That’s all the information we’ve got," Hank replied before glancing at Doug. "Why don’t you wait in the car? I’ll bring her head to you soon enough."

"No chance. I need to see her die with my own eyes!" Doug exclaimed, his eyes burning with intensity.

Hank’s eyelids twitched slightly, betraying his irritation. Carrying such a burden while searching for his target was undeniably troublesome.

‘Are we going to spend the entire day searching?’ Hank considered refusing outright, but hesitated when his gaze fell on Doug’s dangling arm sleeves.

Having climbed the ranks of Dragonbane Mountain together since childhood, the two shared a bond forged over years of camaraderie.

‘Sigh, fine.’ Reflecting on their shared history, Hank finally decided to relent and was just about to nod in agreement.

At that exact moment, a flash of red caught the edge of his vision.

“It’s her!” Hank snapped to attention. Sure enough, an impossibly stunning beauty clad in a red dress was strolling casually across the street.

“It’s her!” Doug shouted as well, his eyes widening so much it seemed they might pop out of his skull.

As if sensing their gazes, the dazzling figure came to a halt and turned her head slowly in their direction. Beneath the warm glow of the streetlamp, her breathtakingly beautiful face was revealed.

There was no doubt about it—it was the one they’d been searching for, [Princess]!

Before either Hank or Doug could make a move, Yaeger spun on her heel and bolted without hesitation.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
