Chapter 397 397
397 397
Leon's fist crashed into Akito's body once more, sending a sickening thud through the air as the Major limp body hit the ground with a resounding boom.
The crowd stood frozen, wide-eyed, and silent, barely able to comprehend the brutal display of power they were witnessing. Even those used to battle couldn't hide the shock painted across their faces. Whispers began to ripple through the crowd as more powerful auras stirred from the edges of the military complex.
"This is madness," someone muttered, their voice trembling. "He's taking on a Saint-level warrior..."
"Who is he?" another whispered, eyes locked onto Leon. "No ordinary man could fight like this."
Leon remained standing over Akito's crumpled body while his eyes swept the scene, filled with cold amusement as he sensed the shifting energy around him.
More were coming at him and honestly, it wasn't bad rather.
It was good.
From the growing crowd, the air seemed to thicken with tension, the oppressive weight of multiple powerful auras converging on the area.
High-ranking officers and cultivators from the Sector, men and women who commanded armies and wielded extraordinary power, began to gather. They watched, some in silence, others with barely concealed anger, as Leon nonchalantly stepped on the defeated Akito's body.
As the tension in the air thickened, a group of high-ranking officers stepped forward from the crowd, their faces twisted in disdain. Their eyes gleamed with arrogance as they took in the scene before them, a mix of anger and contempt simmering just beneath the surface.
"Look at this pathetic display," sneered a tall woman with sharp features and a cold smile. "A lowly thug thinks he can defy the authority of the Sector. How amusing."
Another officer, a burly man with a beard that bristled with indignation, stepped beside her, arms crossed over his chest. "You should be groveling at the feet of Major Akito. Instead, you dare to step on him like he's some worthless trash."
Leon stood there, still casually resting his foot on Akito, his expression unchanging. He didn't respond to their taunts, which only fueled their anger.
"Why don't you take your filthy foot off our Major?" demanded a third officer, a young man with a pompous smirk.
" This isn't a playground for you to show off!"
Leon's silence only heightened their rage.
"Is that all you've got?" Leon finally spoke in a voice laced with boredom.
"You're all barking dogs that don't bite"
The group exchanged furious glances.
"Enough of this!" shouted the bearded officer, his face flushed with anger.
"You think you can mock us? We'll show you what real power is!"
In a flash, several of them lunged at Leon, their auras flaring as they unleashed their attacks. But just as they were about to strike, Leon's demeanor shifted. He drew upon his draconic eyes making the air around him crackling with energy.
A wave of dread washed over the crowd. They stumbled back, eyes widening in terror as dark, ominous shapes seemed to materialize above Leon, two pairs of eyes glowing like coals. It felt as though the very essence of fear had come to life, wrapping around them like a shroud.
Every officer froze, their bodies betraying them as a paralyzing force pressed down. They dropped to their knees, unable to move, the weight of their own arrogance collapsing beneath the pressure of Leon's presence.
"Do you see now?" Leon's voice echoed, calm and unwavering amidst the chaos. "You have no idea who you're dealing with."
The haughty sneers faded from their faces, replaced by the stark realization of their vulnerability.
"ENOUGH!" n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
A figure stepped forward with his eyes burning with fury while his presence was far more commanding than the rest.
His grim expression was framed by an aura that seemed to bend the space around him, distorting the air like the heat of a furnace. He moved slowly yet each step started shaking the place.
The murmurs of the crowd died down, replaced by an eerie silence.
"How dare you cause such chaos in a military establishment!" His voice echoed like a thunderous boom that seemed to shake the very ground beneath them.
"Do you think yourself above the law? Do you know where you stand?"
Leon's eyes lazily drifted toward the speaker.
He was a tall man, clad in dark military garb, his expression twisted with rage and disgust. His aura was thick with power, a Saint, easily the strongest figure in the group. But Leon's grin only grew wider, a gleam of excitement sparking in his eyes.
"Oh, a Saint…" Leon said, his voice dripping with mockery. He tilted his head, sizing up the man.
"Finally, something interesting, otherwise I would have been bored."
Saying this, Leon yawned.
The man's face twisted further into a sneer. "Disrespectful brat! From which family do you hail? I'll make sure they pay for this insult."
Leon chuckled, shaking his head. "Family? I don't belong to any family. I'm just a lucky guy who stumbled onto some opportunities. Don't worry, though. You'll still die all the same."
The man's eyes flared with rage. "Good, that means no one will miss you."
In the blink of an eye, the Saint-level figure struck. His hand whipped forward, releasing a ray of pure, condensed energy. The beam tore through the air with terrifying speed, a sharp whistle slicing through the silence. The crowd gasped, many stepping back, anticipating Leon's inevitable demise.
But Leon didn't move. The energy struck him directly, creating a deafening explosion. Dust and debris flew everywhere, the ground shaking from the force. The bystanders shielded their eyes, the shockwave rattling through the area. As the smoke began to clear, they stared in disbelief.
Leon still stood there, unharmed, his foot casually planted on Akito's unconscious body.
He spoke as his face twisted into an amused smirk.
"Hahahaha!" Leon's laughter echoed across the crowd. "Is that all? Is this the extent of your capability?"
"You…Who are you?"The man frowned with widened eyes.
" You've forgotten me, haven't you? Just because I've been gone a few days…"
The figure's face paled. His attack hadn't even scratched Leon which started worrying him greatly.
Leon's smile vanished, replaced by a cold, deadly expression. "It looks like I'll have to remind you of who I am. Looks like I'll have to carve out the same fear in your hearts again so that any random cannon fodder on the street won't dare challenge me."
