Chapter 124 Lya's Change In Behavior
'I'm pretty sure your job isn't to be a wingman,' Lucian chuckled. However, he kept the comment to himself.
Thirty seconds later, in front of Lucian was a pile of washed berries that were enough for three Berry Blasts. As the chef, he wanted to taste his concoction.
After that, Lucian placed the three Fireheart Oranges onto a chopping board and sliced them in halves with a kitchen knife.
For the Berry Blast, he needed to freshly squeeze the oranges.
Just then, a juicer appeared to the right of his hand, causing Lucian to be speechless. His speechlessness was not because of its sudden appearance. He had expected it to appear there, but what he did not expect was he would be given a manual hand juicer.
Sighing lightly, Lucian placed a halved orange into the middle of the juicer and pressed down with his other hand.
He did the same with the rest of the oranges until he had three, fourth cups of orange juice.
Once that was done, the next steps were easy. He poured the berries and orange juice into a blender. He then added a teaspoon of Golden Sugar and a pinch of Misty Sea Salt, closed the lid, and started the blender.
Sweet always benefited from a bit of salt. It enhanced the flavor, making it more complex, as well as, it balanced the flavor profile. Otherwise, the Berry Blast would be ridiculously sweet, even though the Fireheart Orange was tangy and slightly acidic.
Meanwhile, Lucian's right hand on top of the blender lid began emitting multicolored starlight, though, he, Lily, and the rest saw no visible change had occurred.
Celestial Mana continued to pour into the blender and infused into the mixture.
After a while, once the berries had turned into liquid, Lucian stopped the blender and removed the lid.
*Woosh*
A sweet and tangy fragrance wafted out, filling the kitchen and dining area. The fruity fragrance was intoxicating, eliciting a series of rumblings from the stomachs of Lily and the others.
Taking out three tall, transparent glasses, Lucian poured the Berry Blast into them, filling them up to the brim. He then added four Low-Grade Mana Water Ice Cubes to each glass.
The visual impact of the drink was mesmerizing. Swirling shades of red and purple with hints of blue and gold filled the cup.
It was a work of art that could have sold for millions of dollars if he had still been on Earth! Your next read is at empire
Lucian could not help but salivate. The Berry Blast was not only a feast for the taste buds but also for the eyes.
With that, the new drink was completed. However, Lucian did not immediately serve the Berry Blast to Garm. Instead, he waited.

As the System processed the rewards, in the small office to the side of the Southern Gates of Harmony City, a purple-eyed goblin was hunched over a cluttered desk, recording today's entries in a large book.
*Knock* Knock*
Hearing the knocks on her door, Lya frowned at being disturbed.
"What is it?" She asked the guard outside the door, while she continued to record today's entries.
It was an important task that could only be done by the five Captains of Harmony City. Having a detailed logbook of the people who entered and exited Harmony City had saved them from a lot of trouble in the past. Thus, it became an important task to ensure the safety of the citizens of Harmony City.
"Captain Lya, it's an important matter. May I come in?" The guard outside respectfully asked with a subtle nervous tone.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Lya frowned. 'What could be important that requires a guard to enter my office?'
Lya was no fool. She knew the guards and many Harmony City residents were disgusted by her. If not for her strength, and the diligence she put into her work every single day, she would have been fired fifty years ago when her hobby had been leaked to the public.
"The door's open. You can enter" Lya said after a moment.
"Thank you, Captain." The guard said and took a deep breath of fresh air, before reluctantly entering the room under the pitying gazes of his fellow guards.
He was a newly recruited guard; therefore, he had been forced by the other guards to relay the words to the Captain. Otherwise, with the rumors… no, with the cold hard truths surrounding Captain Lya, he would not have entered her office.
As the guard stepped inside the office, he became slack-jawed in confusion. He had expected to smell a repugnant stench, yet unless he was hallucinating, a fragrance of daisy flowed into his nostrils.
'Could the rumors be false?' That was his initial thought as he glanced at the office, which should have been covered in white, viscous fluids, yet it was spotless. He could even see his reflection on the wooden floorboards.
"Well? What is it? If you have nothing to report, then leave." Lya said icily as she subtly released her pressure. She was not in a good mood at the moment.
Subjected to the pressure of a Mana Vein Tempering Realm Mage, the guard's face paled, and his body began trembling.
*Clink*
Each time the guard trembled, a faint clink sounded from his armor.
'Wasn't it widely said Captain Lya despite her… preferences is a kind-hearted woman? Could it all be a lie?'
With one last disbelief and horrified-filled glance at Captain Lya, he bowed.
"R-Reporting to Captain Lya, there is a situation at our Southern Gates which requires your presence. A group of weak store owners with the City Lord's Medallion are asking to be escorted to the Moon Grove Forest."
Lya stopped writing, and her purple eyes instantly brightened at the mention of the Moon Grove Forest.
'Isn't that where my Garrett is at?' Her heart started beating faster, and her purple pupils flashed pink.
A moment later, she stood up excitedly and spoke, "I understand, I'll escort them. You, stay here and record everyone who enters and exits the Southern Gate."
What do you think?
