Chapter 92
Chapter 92: The Arrival of the Jixia Academy
Deep within the First Court lay an enormous pool, its waters a boundless, swirling ocean of blackness. The Void Empress appeared at the edge of the pool, her expression blank.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
She extended a finger, opening a rift in the Void, from which a world source emerged, drawn down into the black waters.
The churning black sea devoured it as the laws of the world source dissolved, merging with the waters and being transformed by the Void’s influence, reshaped to suit the laws of Void entities.
“My Lady!” A graceful, beautiful figure appeared, kneeling reverently behind the Void Empress.
Her name was Tiffany, the Witch of Calamity, once a deity herself. After being enslaved by the Void Empress, she had become a court attendant and had watched over the Void Pool for many years.
This Void Pool had been created by the Void Empress by tearing away a tenth of the Void’s original source. Capable of voidifying anything, it had even sparked discontent among the other Courts due to its immense power.
Now, the Void Pool had absorbed three world sources and was filled with colossal Void energy and the power of altered laws.
Tiffany, gazing at the gradually dissolving world source, respectfully whispered, “The Void Pool has now consumed three world sources… ready for the young prince to enjoy…”
Bowing deeply, Tiffany, as the Void Empress’s attendant, was privy to the secret of the Empress’s mysterious offspring. The Empress had long prepared for this prince’s evolution, with the Void Pool as one of her many arrangements.
The Void Empress’s gaze remained fixed on the Void Pool, her face expressionless. Suddenly, an image appeared before her.
In the vision, a noble and handsome young man stood with his hands behind his back, bearing the face of a human. Yet, the icy, indifferent gaze in his eyes mirrored that of the Void Empress—this young man was none other than Qin Xian.
As she gazed at the image of Qin Xian, a subtle trace of emotion appeared in the Void Empress’s eyes. To her, the universe was merely food to be devoured.
As a terror of the Void, she held no emotional attachments—not even for the human with the bloodline of the Primal-born who had once been her consort; that relationship had merely served mutual purposes. If any emotion remained within her, it was solely for her child.
Her eyes softened with boundless affection as she murmured, “My child… my only child… You shall become the most powerful Void Overlord in all of history…“
“Together, we shall devour the universe. But for now, you must stay within the human world, learn and grow within the structure of the Divine Revelation…”
…
Qin Xian, Qin Li, and Marika exited the Pantheon, returning to the Broken Heaven instance. With the world source of Broken Heaven now devoured by Qin Xian, the instance would degrade into a regular dungeon.
Marika, as the realm’s former main god, no longer needed to remain in Broken Heaven and would become one of Qin Xian’s followers.
Despite having lost most of her divine power and her main god shard, Marika was still around level 50.
Her remaining godly power and intimidating presence as a deity still held some value. If she managed to retrieve her divine fragments, she might one day restore her original strength.
The Broken Heaven instance was nearly deserted now. A group of Qin family elites awaited outside the Pantheon, their faces lighting up as Qin Xian appeared, bowing respectfully.
“Young Master, Young Lady!”
These warriors, raised by the Qin family, were prepared to die with Qin Xian should anything have happened. Staying behind to perish in the instance would have been the preferred choice if he had fallen.
But now, with Qin Xian’s perfect clearance and immense rewards, these Qin family elites could look forward to rich rewards. Though ruthless in their methods, the Qin family was generous with their allies, which was why so many sought their favor.
“Let’s go,” Qin Xian said with a smile at Qin Li, leading the group to the interface and selecting “exit.” In the next moment, they were enveloped in light, teleporting to the instance entrance.
But as they materialized, Qin Xian’s eyes narrowed slightly, sensing something amiss. The entire Hengjiang region was under strict lockdown, with Imperial soldiers and security officials from the Security Council stationed everywhere, even with other professionals patrolling the area.
“Everyone is to stay put! I want to know exactly who is responsible for killing our Jixia Academy students!” a furious voice boomed across the sky.
Powerful figures from Jixia Academy appeared, their faces seething with anger. Seeing this, Qin Xian’s brow lifted slightly, though his expression betrayed no surprise.
It seemed that Jixia Academy had finally made their move. This was expected; the deaths of over twenty students would undoubtedly provoke a reaction from the academy.
If they had ignored such a loss, Jixia wouldn’t have been worthy of its title as one of the Empire’s three great academies.
Qin Xian chuckled, untroubled. Just as he’d considered, if the favored son of destiny had remained quietly within Jixia Academy to cultivate, even the Qin family wouldn’t have dared to storm the academy grounds.
But now that he was dead, Jixia Academy would find retribution against him equally difficult to obtain. What could Jixia Academy do against him, the eldest son of the Qin family, for a mere dead man?
At that moment, a stern-looking middle-aged man appeared before Qin Xian, his face filled with hostility as he glared at him.
This man was none other than Mo Zhongshan, the Deputy Dean of the Demon Hunting Academy at Jixia Academy.
