Chapter 57 - 54: Avoiding Women
A pack of White Bone Evil Dogs, their strength still not reaching the level of Midnight Long Legs.
Wu Hen waved his palm in front of himself, and a cold jade ice silk mask quickly emerged. An incredibly seductive vertical pupil pattern appeared on his forehead, while the eye sockets exuded an aura of priest-like dignity and sternness.
His right hand was swiftly covered by a layer of Jade Light, with fine scaled patterns exuding a frosty killing intent.
There was no need to observe the movements of these White Bone Evil Dogs. Just a slight listen and all their actions were like clear waves, orderly transmitted to Wu Hen’s perception.
Among these waves, there would be some gaps, which were the safe zones for evasion.
Wu Hen’s movement technique became exceedingly agile, as if he could predict the White Bone Evil Dogs’ actions.
With a gentle tilt of his head, he avoided the evil dog’s claws.
A casual spin, as if meticulously planned, caused the two charging evil dogs’ heads to collide.
The evil dogs attacked in an endless stream, their attacks chaotic and brutal, yet Wu Hen danced among them like a butterfly, occasionally swinging his Cold Stab, slicing down the evil dogs.
In the courtyard, there were a total of thirteen evil dogs. In just a short interval, Wu Hen had already slaughtered nearly half of them.
The remaining White Bone Evil Dogs showed some hesitation. They began to circle around Wu Hen without attacking recklessly, instead guarding the crystalline Little Yuan You.
"Little Yi, listen to my whistle!"
Wu Hen suddenly released his right hand and let out a long whistle.
As the whistle sounded, the remaining evil dogs immediately bared their teeth and growled in anger at being provoked.
This was exactly what Wu Hen wanted—the growling. Locking onto them regardless of their formation!
"Shoo!"
The whistle sounded, and the Cold Stab in Wu Hen’s hand flew out on its own, drawing beautiful arcs in the courtyard, consecutively piercing through the jaws of the White Bone Evil Dogs!! Nôv(el)B\\jnn
From the first to the seventh, as Wu Hen gently raised his right hand, the Cold Stab returned to his hand. The seven White Bone Evil Dogs in front of him fell in an orderly manner...
"Hiss~ Hiss~"
Even flies are meat; Wu Hen needed Yuan You today, so Little Yi had to feast on these slain prey. A few pieces of dessert couldn’t hurt!
After swallowing a dozen pieces, Little Yi was content and no longer eyed the Little Yuan You.
Wu Hen successfully acquired the Yuan You in the courtyard by the bridge.
Knowing that shattering it would not take him home, Wu Hen resolutely began absorbing its energy.
The Yuan You’s energy was quite substantial. After absorbing it, Wu Hen could clearly feel his blood boiling within his body. Once the blood coursed through his entire system, he felt lighter, every muscle and joint became more powerful!
It really worked instantly!
This Yuan You was indeed something wonderful.
He wondered if it could enhance his physique to ten times the SuperAbnormal level and if another aspect of him could also see a dramatic rise.
"Clink~ Clink~"
The sound of dragging an object on the ground came from the distant road.
Little Yi quickly responded, indicating that it was a fresh hot dish!
"Wouldn’t it be risky to deal with a hot dish now?" Wu Hen remarked.
Little Yi indicated that it smelled the scent of Yuan You.
"Hot dishes should be eaten while hot!"
Wu Hen didn’t follow the team further; he needed to be daring; otherwise, it would be hard to collect enough wooden sticks.
One Yuan You was equivalent to one wooden stick. Becoming the person who collected the most Yuan You was the only way to meet the Yin Lord.
Following the sound, Wu Hen arrived at a long alleyway.
In the alley, there was a ghostly figure of an old beggar, her hair dirty and disheveled, her clothes tattered, her long twisted fingers like old vines.
Her body was hunched, carrying a cloth bag. If it weren’t for this being Yinzhou, Wu Hen would have thought she was an old lady collecting plastic bottles...
Though the old lady was skinny, the cloth bag on her back was not small. It oozed blood stains, occasionally showing faces, legs, and thick thighs pressed against the cloth.
The old lady’s ghostly steps were slow yet in just a few moves, she appeared beside a man with a weapon.
The man swung his sharp blade desperately at the old lady with the bag, only to be floored by a single swipe!
The old lady clearly was a seasoned Scavenger. She first crushed the burly man’s spine, then broke his limbs one by one, and finally twisted out his bodily fluids and blood before stuffing him into her bag...
Such a burly man, reduced to nothing more than a roadside can!
"No sign of Yuan You." Wu Hen stared at the Cloth Bag Ghost Woman.
The Cloth Bag Ghost Woman could pass through walls. The Yin Ants moved aside when they saw her, and some self-proclaimed clever Spirit Awakeners hiding indoors were swiftly found by her, ending up like that burly man.
At last, the Cloth Bag Ghost Woman’s bag was full. Even upon seeing a living person, she sighed and walked home.
Her home was at the end of a deep alley, a low building with a large tank in the courtyard.
She lifted her bag, poured all her scavenged finds into the tank, and covered it with a thin skin.
"Human Wine?" Wu Hen had cautiously followed and now frowned slightly.
Peering inside, Wu Hen indeed saw a wine jar emitting a Ghostly Glow, its energy seemingly ready to escape!
This scene reminded Wu Hen of the girl who dried bones, resulting in a Yuan You.
Similarly, the Ghost Woman knew Brewing Skill, using living humans to ferment Yuan You!
"There are still many outside~" The Cloth Bag Ghost Woman smiled, sealing the tank, and eagerly returned to the street.
She needed to catch more to brew more fine wine. Her daughter’s wedding today required ample celebratory drinks!
The Cloth Bag Ghost Woman locked the door and left her house.
Her steps were eerie; in no time, she was back on the street, catching more people for her bag.
Once the Cloth Bag Ghost Woman left, Wu Hen swiftly slipped into the ghostly house.
He heard moaning from the wine tank but ignored it.
They were twisted beyond saving, and Wu Hen had no bond with them anyway.
Stepping inside, Wu Hen moved to the hall, ears alert for the Ghost Woman’s creepy steps. Once assured she was far enough, he grabbed the already-brewed jar of Yuan You Wine.
The Yuan You Wine was potent, better in quality than that from the Evil Dog House.
Without hesitation, Wu Hen took it and looked for a safe spot to absorb it.
"Mother, I’ve come back to get the wine." Suddenly, a voice resounded out of nowhere at the door.
Wu Hen turned around and saw a woman with a red veil standing ghostly at the door—without making any noise before!
Ghost Bride???
She was supposed to be throwing an embroidery ball at the Bone Pavilion during the temple fair!
How did she suddenly appear here!!
Wu Hen was stunned.
The Ghost Bride was also stunned. She hadn’t expected a thief in her house, stealing her thousand-year-old daughter wine!
"Marry me, and you can drink as much as you want. Why bother stealing from my old home?" The Ghost Bride laughed, a mix of delight and excitement.
After throwing the ball for so long and finding no suitable match.
This man, however, looked handsome, with a fit body, pleasing in every way. Why hadn’t he been at her embroidery ball platform before?
"Bride sister, to tell you the truth, I’m a vegetarian monk, not close to women." Wu Hen was embarrassed.
Who could have thought the Ghost Bride and the Cloth Bag Ghost Woman were family!
Now he had no Yuan You and faced two hot dishes!
"Don’t you think you should look at me before deciding I’m not in your heart?" The Ghost Bride, supremely confident in her beauty, slowly lifted her veil.
Wu Hen felt fixated by the Ghost Bride, and if he didn’t escape now, she wouldn’t just reveal her face but his skull too!
"Bride sister, I think it’s unnecessary." Wu Hen resolutely refused to look at her face, and seeing the Ghost Bride coming closer, he raised his weapon and struck down!
Little Yi cleverly transformed into the most powerful nine-foot nail rake!
The Nine-toothed Nail Rake struck the Ghost Bride, who immediately turned into smoke and scattered in all directions.
Wu Hen scratched his head.
The Ruyi Jinggubang was said to take down a female fairy with one strike. He hadn’t expected the Nine-toothed Nail Rake to be just as impressive!!
Without delay, Wu Hen grabbed the Yuan You Wine and left.
Not far along, the Cloth Bag Ghost Woman, with her shuffling steps, appeared on the path Wu Hen had taken.
She stared dully at his retreating figure, her mouth forming a grin.
Soon, the smoke condensed beside her, revealing the Ghost Bride’s figure again. She too stared at Wu Hen’s fleeing figure, with a faint smile.
Mother and daughter were satisfied.
Since the prospective groom wanted to play, they’d play along and also test his endurance. If he met all criteria, he’d be the one for the wedding!
"Mother, catch more men for wine. I’ll bond with him." The Ghost Bride said.
"Okay, fine wine must be brewed from men; I’ll only catch men." The Cloth Bag Ghost Woman replied.
…
Wu Hen sprinted, trying to shake off the Ghost Bride.
The Ghost Bride’s movement was peculiar and silent, rendering his Listening Sense useless.
No matter. First, absorb this jug of Yuan You Wine and elevate his physique to the Second Rank.
Once ensuring safety, Wu Hen immediately opened the Yuan You Wine and began absorbing its energy.
However, just as he touched the cold Yuan You Wine, Little Yi released an electric surge, like a black lightning whip cracking against the wall!
From the spot where the Thunder Whip released sparks, a graceful and enchanting figure emerged.
Wu Hen turned to see the Ghost Bride!
She seemed to have been there all along, like a maiden waiting shyly for her new husband, slightly bashfully facing away…
