Chapter 2151 The Dashavatara (Various) -Part 19

Despite the loss of the Dashavatara and their main staunch allies at the Sea Fortress of Lyro, things were not going as well as they should be at the moment for them too.

With the elite force of the Sea Fortress being sent out to dispatch the Celestial leaders, the remaining Mages and ancillary support soldiers were doing their best to keep the Celestial Allied Troops at bay. Hanuman did not come alone nor did Balarama, Rama, and even Kurma

A combined force of these numerous enemies was beginning to overwhelm the Mages at bay. It was so bad that the System had finally approved the first quick reactionary force to enter the fray in order to save the Mages' asses. This was also due to the fact that Rama had previously disabled all of their cannons, not just the ones facing the beaches.

Everything that was within sight had been disposed of by Rama prior to his skirmish with the Blade Mages and Sea Hunters. This was meant to be an opening attack for his allies to press the assault and it worked. It worked big time for the attackers and they pressed their attacks with numbers, suppressing the defenders up to this point of the battle.

Surely, the defenders had a hard time managing it but they were doing all their best to stand their ground. After all, the Sea Fortress of Lyro was literally a Sea Fortress meant to diversify and spread thin the attackers as well. It was built with defending the demons arriving from the sea in mind but they had never thought that there would be so many Celestials targeting them.

However, the System had a 'prediction' beforehand that the Celestial teleportation was more targeted than one would expect. After all, the System had repeatedly gone into Lord Vishnu's mind to see how he and his team's modus operandi had worked previously. It was also a secret that the System did not leak in case the Celestials ever caught wind of the preparation that the humans had made.

What the humans and even Jin did not know was that everything was going according to the System, even to the current situation, and all within its perimeters. One could say that the System had never had such full control of the situation before. Prior to this, it had always been in reactive mode, aiding Jin whenever it was possible and ensuring that its user would not die from it all.

But this time it was different.

With the System tapping right into the powers of Lord Vishnu, the God of Preservation, the System was able to preserve all of the Mages that had been killed previously. However, at the same time, it was not willing to use its powers to resurrect any of these Mages even though it would not have cost anything especially when it had Lord Vishnu as its temporary battery.

This was to not alert the Dashavatara into thinking that there was an external force working against them and to allow them to believe Jin was the source of it all. (Technically that would not be wrong as well, since the System was connected to Jin.) All it had to do was to continue working behind the scenes to support the Mages as much as possible until the end of the Dashavatara.

And because of the assurance of tapping into Lord Vishnu's powers, the System did not worry if the entirety of Ress's Army had been decimated. Rather than saving the army, the System also wanted to cultivate a sense of loss to Jin and give him the experience that he had been sorely missing ever since the inception of the System.

He had never lost his soldiers before and the System believed that allowing him to go through this fake trial of fire, it would further boost his resolve in defeating the Dashavatara. It would have definitely been better if they had negotiated or communicated but all of those went out of the window when the Dashavatara had decided that annihilation was the easiest route for them…or so they thought.

Having lost three Avatars of Vishnu under the hands of humans was something that had never happened before. The fact that the Mages of Ress were so resolute in defeating all of the Celestials showed that there must be a trigger prior to their arrival. That was why despite the overwhelming numbers, the defenders of Lyro were still fighting to their last breath, not caring of their lives.

Their objective was to injure and kill as many Celestial minions as possible and this made the defenders terrifying. While the Celestial Armies had been to many battles, most were one sided. They too saw the familiar scenes of soldiers on the other side fighting for their lives but they had never seen one that was this determined to kill the Celestial Armies.

What's more was that, unlike previous wars and battles, the Celestial Armies were heavily demoralised through the death of their battle masters.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

The moment the word had been spread across the battlefield that Rama and subsequently Hanuman was killed, the defenders of Ress became even more fired up. Their morale shot to the roof, urging themselves to push even just one more step just to inflict damage to another Celestial Warrior despite having an entire leg into the death's doorstep.

The Celestial Warriors got beaten even more when their quick reaction force literally teleported into the current battlefront from above and they rained explosions where the concentration of enemies was at its highest. What's more, it was not as if there was a whole battalion of Mages that performed such a feat.

It was actually the Vampiric Werewolves who had mastered the art of using the Wand Rifle. The Daemon Mage Corps ironically became the saviours of Lyro's battlefront as they reloaded to send another wave of explosions before the Celestial Warriors sent men to fight against the Daemon Mage Corps. Despite its name, there were only at most 20 Vampiric Werewolves as part of the quick reactionary forces but the Celestial Warriors had no idea that Vampiric Blood Magic excelled the best in such circumstances.

With their arrival, the System believed that it could finally focus on the Ress Battlefront where most of the fighting took place in Ress' Capital, the New Ress City.
