Novel's Extra: I Awakened The Strongest Physique From The Start

CHAPTER 56 - The Beasts.

'What should I ask of master this time?'

Nyxia the owl, one of Alex's subordinates, was right now wondering about her reward. She didn't know when Alex was going to arrive, but she knew that he was probably on his way.

Yes, beasts are capable of thinking once they reach a certain level, and Nyxia, just like the other three beasts under Alex's command, was pretty strong.

She still couldn't speak because she needed to be stronger than she was right now to do so, but her words were understood by Alex—all that she needed. She served under Alex and Alex only, after all.

'Should I ask for that thing called cake again? Maybe ask for 50 of them?!' She giggled on the inside as she imagined herself lying in a pool of cakes. Just how wonderful would that be?

"ROOAAAARRRR—!"

Just as she was thinking about what she should demand as a reward, a roar sounded from just behind her, making her quickly shake her head, wiping away the droll that had unknowingly started to leak from her sharp beak.

"—Grrr!"

It was only when the victorious roar turned into a growl of frustration that she turned around, a smug light shining in her eyes as she puffed her chest.

Kieee!

She screeched as if asserting dominance, hoping that the lion that just popped out of the dungeon would revere her and bow down to her greatness, but all she got was an annoyed growl.

Grrr!

Alright, that was not a growl. It was a scoff.

'Does she think she can win next time? Hah! Foolish dreams!' Nyxia, knowing full well that the lioness in front of her, who had just popped out of the dungeon, would be thinking, just shook her head with an exaggerated sigh.

There was no way this dumb lioness, Lionara, would ever win against me—

Huff!

"Groowl..." (Don't forget that I have won 5 out of 20 of our matches...)

Breaking Nyxia's line of thoughts, Lionara huffed, growling lazily, and lying down in her spot. Lionara, as the oldest among the four beasts under Alex, was pretty much able to guess what the others would be thinking, so she could guess Nyxia's thoughts as well.

She knew that Nyxia had won again, and she would probably get another reward, but she wasn't much worried. She just needed one victory before she would ask for something that could make her stronger as a reward from Master.

'I won't be childish enough to ask for cakes—maybe one, but not more.' Lionara thought to herself, resting her head on her paws, staring into the horizon, waiting for their master to arrive.

Kieee-Kieee!

She completely ignored the screeches from Nyxia, as all that little dumb bird was trying to say that all those five victories were just a fluke. Experience more tales on empire

Huff!

'Just wait until I win. I will surely get something useful, unlike you...' She just huffed lazily, dreaming of the time she would win.

What would she ask? Something that could make her stronger...

'But what about the endless patting I was going to ask once I won?!' Her eyes just then snapped open as she went into a huge dilemma.

She loved being patted by her master more than anything! How could she miss a chance to get that?!

Grrr...

Now she really was stuck between hard and rock. She needed to think deeply about it, so she closed her eyes, frowning hard as she got busy with her thoughts, so much that she failed to notice the other two beasts, the horse Gatika and the Black Panther, Panthera, were both out of the dungeon.

They popped out of the dungeon at the same time as they cleared it in almost equal time.

But clearing it at the same time didn't mean they were clearing the dungeon at the same time. No matter how many entities entered the dungeon, they would always be sent into different spaces.

The ones they'll have to fight will be the same, as each dungeon has its own theme, but depending on power, capabilities, and the limits of the one entering, the number of foes they'll have to fight will change.

Neighhh!!

The mare, Gatika, looking at both Lionara and Nyxia just neighed proudly.

'No matter how strong you guys are, I will always be the fastest!' That was all she had in her mind. She loved competitions, and that was why she took part in this friendly match of theirs, but she was never really serious about it.

All she knew was that she was the fastest among the ones present—something none of them could deny.

So no matter what one said or thought, she would just jump around here and there, clearing dungeons for fun.

Panthera, on the other hand, just moved to the side. He was the only male among this group of female beasts—precisely why he always stayed silent to not get jumped by all three of them one day.

He knew that no matter how competitive and outgoing these three seemed, if he were to get involved in their fight, they would all probably kick him out of there.

'It really is hard to understand women. I just wonder how Master does it...' Panthera could just admire his master for being able to handle a woman as powerful as Mistress Sophie—she could control this dream world, after all. She was the one who once waved her hand, and a dungeon sprouted from the ground.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

The poor Panther didn't know that Sophie couldn't really control this world; all she could do was spawn dungeons.

But just as they were all thinking about Alex, they heard the voice of someone who mostly came to them when their master was with her.

"THIS IS CHEATING!! YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO USE YOUR ABILITIES THAT WAY!!"

They could hear Sophie screaming in frustration and grievance, making all of them stand straight and turn in that direction, only to see their master standing right in front of them, and Sophie, yelling from behind, was about to reach them as well.

"Don't be a sore loser now." Their master, Alex, turning toward Sophie, grinned as he added, "You started this. I just won."

He shrugged nonchalantly, turning to look at all four of them, standing straight, respect clear in all of their eyes.

Kieee!

But Nyxia, like always, just rushed at Alex with a screech, turning into her little form and perching on Alex's shoulder, ranting about how she cleared the dungeon and how, being as magnanimous as she was, she didn't even rub it on the faces of others.

'This sly little...'

Hearing all that, however, made Lionara grind her teeth in annoyance.

She couldn't even say that Nyxia had rubbed it on her face, as she would seem petty in the eyes of the only person she didn't want to. But her annoyance was just a way for her to cover her jealousy for Nyxia.

She really did envy the way that dumb bird could decrease her size. No one other than her could do it; they were all inherently big in size, after all.

Those were shared thoughts of every beast other than Nyxia.

"No. You didn't win—this wasn't even a match." It was then that Sophie finally reached Alex, turning her head away with a huff. "I never said it was a match."

It was true. She never really said it, but she did say that she was going to win, and that directly implied them being in a match, but Alex just chuckled at her words.

"Alright. There was no match at all." She shook his head, still chuckling.

He knew better than to mess with Sophie when she was having these types of emotional swings. He was sure that it was because she saw him naked and got riled, so he knew that she would get better in a while.

He just turned his head toward Nyxia and questioned as he rubbed her head with his finger, "So, what do you want this time?"

"Kiieee!" (Cakes!)

And just as everyone expected her to, she wanted cakes.

'As unambitious as ever, I see...' Lionara just shook her head at that demand, but her eyes shone a bit as she knew that Nyxia would definitely give some to her—just like she did the last time.

Neigh!

Even Gatika and Panthera seemed to have cakes shining in their eyes, as the cakes that Alex provided them with were the best things they ever had.

It was then that Alex's eyes widened, and leaving the beasts to their demise, both he and Sophie disappeared.

The beasts didn't even have time to look at the expressions of both Alex and Sophie, or they would've realized that something was wrong.

They would've realized that Alex and Sophie didn't just run away because of Nyxia's demand.
