Novel's Extra: I Awakened The Strongest Physique From The Start

CHAPTER 41 - A new skill and a new game.

As said before, Alex was the rising star of the human side, with potential similar to Vanessa's—something people discovered quite late to do anything, just like they did with Vanessa.

Now, with Alex in the academy, they couldn't kill him. Not because it was forbidden to kill anyone in the academy city—it happens a lot; people just don't know about it—but because Alex was an invited student.

Students with invitations are those who come under the protection of the mysterious academy's principal. A being with unknown but unfathomable power.

So, unless Alex was out of the academy city or he had taken part in a life-and-death match, there was no way to kill him in the whole of Originveil City.

His moves, however, were observed by many people because he was Vanessa's son and also because he was the holder of a ground-breaking ability called gravity manipulation. Yes, Alex had revealed one of his cards—enough to make people see him as a threat but not enough for them to make suicidal moves.

So, even a move, such as not revealing the names of the top ten rankers of the first year, which, because of him being the referee, was under his control, was seen as a major scheme by the others.

'Winning the heart of the commoners.'

That was what they thought, but all Alex was doing was looking out for Mira, nothing else. She was someone he cared about, and although he still wasn't sure how to treat her, he didn't want her to suffer, so he didn't let her identity leak.

But he couldn't just do so with her, or she would become the target of many girls for being too close to him while being a commoner, so he used the others as a cover for her.

"In today's match, which is held under my supervision, we will not see them by their names." Alex began, his voice pulling everyone in as he had used one of the skills he bought from the shop.

[Commanding Presence (Rare): Your presence becomes more commanding and domineering, making people weaker than you feel awe and respect for you just by hearing your voice.

→ Moral Booster: It boosts the morale of all those under your abilities, but a higher number of people means a higher amount of mana.

→ Hypno bane: Using this ability, you could lift the effect of some low-ranked mind control skills of those who you talk to.]

It was a useful ability, but it cost him a considerable amount as it was a mental ability. The good thing about this ability was that it was undetectable and not harmful to anyone, elevating its cost.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Today, we will see them by their colors. They all have their colors assigned to them, and they are aware of it, but you guys..." Alex continued to answer the unasked question of the audience, grinning mischievously as he waved his hand, and the moment he did...

*Flutter*

The linen clothing that covered a large board—something many people were curious about since it was never seen here before today—fluttered, blown away by a wave of wind, making the audience gasp.

The timing was just that perfect.

"You guys are going to be the ones choosing the fighters—the ones who would fight against each other." Alex's voice pulled their attention back to the match at hand, and the moment he completed his words, the audience roared again.

""WOOOOAAAHHHHHH!!""

They didn't understand what Alex was hoping to achieve from this, but having the power to decide the matches sounded exciting, and it had never happened before, so they were really looking forward to it.

The more intelligent ones, however, were a bit confused now. What did he want to do now? They thought.

They already knew he was defending the commoners, but he made a whole game plan for them? Or was there something else he wanted to achieve?

"He's trying to pull their attention away from the names and backgrounds of the participants and push it all on a new and interesting game he had invented."

One of the fourth-year teachers commented, his eyes flashing with understanding, and the teachers around him, although not as sure as him, still nodded their heads.

"But we cannot rule out the possibility of him trying something else..." Another teacher added, making others nod their heads again.

Just like this group of fourth-year teachers, many were trying to guess what he wanted to achieve, but his words didn't let them do it for long as all of them, no matter what they did or said, were interested in this new thing.

"All you have to do is choose a color from the ten colors you see there, and for that, all you will have to do about it is reach under your seats and grab the device placed there."

Alex, oblivious to the thoughts of the overthinkers, went on, pointing at the ten color bars made on the corner of the board that was just revealed, and the audience, listening to his words, reached under seats, only to find a black-colored device with ten buttons, one for each color.

It was a new type of device—something even the royals and imperials haven't seen. Curious, many people started pressing buttons randomly, wondering what it was for, but Alex's voice, explaining what it was, made it all seem new and thrilling.

"Those devices are what will enable you to vote for your color; for example, people on my left, please press the blue button for me." Alex turned to his left and asked for everyone on his left to press the blue button, and the moment they did...

*Beep*

The blue-colored bar started to fill up with some kind of shiny liquid, making everyone realize what was happening.

No one here was dumb enough to not understand it by now, and even if there were some, they could just ask their neighbors.

"As you see, the moment you press the button, your vote is registered, and the bar with the highest vote will be the one selected. But only vote when I tell you to."

With the explanation done, Alex turned toward the participants and said, "I hope you all remember your color, as that is going to be your name in this competition."

Seeing his smile, the participants smiled back, reassuring him that they did remember their color; even Ben nodded his head, but Keryu, who was sure that there was no one named Alex in the real novel—at least not this famous—was still wondering what was happening.

"Alright then, the voting for the first match of the first round will now begin!" Alex announced, but that was not all, as he added.

"There would be two votes, one for each participant of the match, and each voting procedure will last for no more than 10 seconds, so be fast with your finger and decide which color you want to vote for before the time runs out as there will be no second chance." With that, Alex paused.

He let his words get settled in the minds of the audience, and as soon as he saw their eyes filled with anticipation turning toward him, he continued, "The first vote will begin..."

Alex pulled the begin long, his eyes turning toward the board, his hand raised in the air, and soon, with his hand chopping down, he exclaimed, "Now!"

As soon as he did so, the audience, including the nobles, teachers, royals, and imperials present, all pressed a button. Wanting to be part of this new and exciting competition.
