Chapter 5597 Fighting Sha Tiantong

BOOM!

Heaven and earth trembled violently as a massive ripple of energy erupted from Sha Tiantong. His aura finally stabilized, no longer climbing, but what followed left everyone in shock—a ninth heaven vein shimmered into existence behind him.

This ninth heaven vein was translucent, unlike the fully condensed eight veins that preceded it. Still, its appearance was enough to cause Su Yu and the others’ hearts to sink.

“How is this possible? He still managed to condense his ninth heaven vein? Were we too late?!” shouted one of the squad leaders, his voice filled with despair.

The translucent heaven vein was the same size as the other eight, a clear sign it had already formed. Though incomplete, it was only a matter of time before it fully condensed. In other words, their desperate efforts had merely delayed Sha Tiantong, not stopped him.

“How hateful!” exclaimed one of the squad leaders through gritted teeth. 

He knew that Sha Tiantong would complete his ninth heaven vein within a month, and then he would unleash a calamity upon the human race.

After condensing his ninth heaven vein, Sha Tiantong raised his head and laughed. “Hahahaha! I didn’t expect this! I’ve actually condensed my embryonic ninth heaven vein. The heavens favor the devil race! Humans, prepare for your annihilation!”

Sha Tiantong had ignited his heaven vein dragon qi in desperation, expecting the process to destroy his ninth vein for a temporary surge of power. Instead, this reckless act had the opposite effect, stimulating the vein into condensing successfully.

Clenching his fist, Sha Tiantong radiated such overwhelming power that spatial tears appeared around him. The sight left Su Yu and the others in utter despair. A nine-vein Heaven Saint, even at the embryonic stage, was a force leagues beyond their comprehension.

Su Yu and the others had been willing to sacrifice themselves to stop his advancement because they were aware of how catastrophic it would be. Unfortunately, fate played with people. With the devil race’s cruelty, Sha Tiantong’s success meant devastation awaited the human race.

The devil experts erupted in cheers, their savage smiles directed at Long Chen and his allies.

“What are you waiting for? Hurry up,” Long Chen said calmly.

“Long Chen, you’re strong and brimming with potential. You can’t die here!” Su Yu declared, her voice resolute. “We’ll ignite our blood souls to activate the devil-trapping grand formation. It’ll only buy you a single breath of time, but you know what you have to do!”

Su Yu took a deep breath, her determination unwavering. She had already accepted her fate. A nine-vein Heaven Saint was beyond them, but if Long Chen survived, there was hope for the future of their race. Whatever happened, they had to make sure Long Chen escaped safely.

“What are you talking about? If you keep talking like that, I might fall in love with all of you,” replied Long Chen, shaking his head.

His words weren’t transmitted spiritually but spoken aloud, leaving Su Yu momentarily stunned, her cheeks turning red. No one had ever said something like that to her face.

But then, she realized he’d said “all of you”, not just her. Angrily, she snapped, “This isn’t the time for jokes! Run and avenge us later!”

Slamming her hands together, she began forming seals. The other Southern Alliance experts followed suit, ready to make the ultimate sacrifice.

“Don’t even think about escaping!” Sha Tiantong sneered as he vanished into the void.

Su Yu’s heart skipped a beat. Her soul shuddered as an oppressive Heavenly Doyen power froze her in place. She couldn’t move, let alone complete her seals. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

A devil claw emerged from the void, reaching for her throat. Unable to move, Su Yu could only watch as that devil claw closed around her neck.

However, just as it was about to touch her, a hand slapped the void, forcing Sha Tiantong out of it. 

BOOM! 

Sha Tiantong’s fingernail was only an inch away from Su Yu’s throat, but Long Chen was there to slap his face away.

“Are you treating me as nothing more than empty air?” asked Long Chen.

Sha Tiantong was fast, but Long Chen was even faster. Even when Sha Tiantong hid himself in the void, Long Chen could still track him.

In an instant, the pressure on Su Yu vanished, and she stared in shock.

“Thank you, but just leave this to me,” Long Chen remarked. 

He smiled at Su Yu and the rest of the Southern Alliance experts. Although they weren’t that strong, they were true warriors he could respect.

“I’ll kill you!” Sha Tiantong roared, his face burning with both pain and humiliation.

A clear handprint flickering with starlight could be seen on his twisted face. The stinging pain and burning embarrassment were unbearable for him.

BOOM!

The void exploded beneath Sha Tiantong as he vanished again.

The next moment, the space in front of Long Chen tore open, and Sha Tiantong’s claws lunged for his shoulders. Devil qi swirled around them, the power of his heaven vein dragon qi making heaven and earth tremble.

With hands encased in starlight, Long Chen simply caught Sha Tiantong’s devil claws.

“Die!” Sha Tiantong bellowed, channeling all his strength to tear Long Chen apart.  But despite his overwhelming power, Long Chen’s hands barely quivered.

“Is that all you’ve got? What a foolish little shit.” Long Chen spat in Sha Tiantong’s face, provoking him to the limit.

Sha Tiantong’s eyes turned bloodshot, and his face twisted in rage. All of a sudden, a blood-colored sphere appeared in his mouth. But before he could unleash it, Long Chen’s knee shot up, slamming into his chest, followed by a devastating kick to his jaw.

BOOM!

Sha Tiantong was launched skyward, black smoke spewing from his mouth as fragments of teeth rained down.

“Do you think you can imitate Boss Long San’s moves?” Long Chen sneered, clasping his hands behind his back. His arrogance was overwhelming as he watched Sha Tiantong writhe in the distance.

When the surrounding experts saw fragments of teeth falling out of Sha Tiantong’s mouth, they were frozen in shock, staring at the scene as if time itself had stopped.
