Chapter 1257  Kill The Monarch Or...

"She won't turn into a chimera if the source she absorbs originates from the same person."

"Originated from the same person?" Evan muttered, frowning as Anastasia's words triggered a memory.

He suddenly recalled the dream Valery had told him about.

'It seems my guess was correct…' He thought. He then explained to Anastasia the dream Valery had experienced—in which she saw a small girl (the Primordial Loli) being brutally beaten by a man—whom Evan suspected to be Azroth, who used a skill called Sever on her. (Chap—821)

When Anastasia heard Evan mention the Primordial Loli, her expression showed a flicker of surprise for a moment.

'It seems a lot happened during the short time he was away, and he even came into contact with matters tied to the Origin Universe,' Anastasia thought.

She listened carefully as Evan explained Valery's dream in detail. When he finished, a look of realization crossed her face, and she nodded.

"I think you are right about Winterclaw and this girl being related to that little Primordial," Anastasia said. "The reason I said she is dying is because her source is too small to successfully help her reach Rank One."

"Can you explain in a way that I can actually understand?" Ashley interjected, her face full of confusion.

Evan, too, was perplexed by Anastasia's explanation. He understood her implication that Winterclaw and Valery were connected to the Primordial Loli, and he grasped why sources originating from the same person would prevent Valery from turning into a chimera.

However, he couldn't fully understand why Anastasia was so sure of this, nor what she meant by Valery's source being "too small."

Seeing their confused expressions, Anastasia pondered for a moment before finally speaking.

"From what this girl told you about her dream, it can be confirmed that the small girl she saw was definitely the Primordial Loli you spoke of. As for the person who fought her, that person was you," Anastasia said.

'It was Azroth, not me,' Evan thought irritably but chose not to interrupt and continued listening to Anastasia. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"The weapon shrouded in black aura that you used to fight that Primordial must have been the Halberd of Destruction. The reason Valery couldn't see its true form in her dream was because she wasn't strong enough to perceive it. The current Halberd of Destruction you have is just a replica, but the aura of destruction it emits when activated is still so powerful that it can threaten even high-level Core Evolvers." Anastasia paused for a moment and then continued.

"If the replica is capable of such destructive power, you can imagine how terrifying the true aura of destruction from the original Halberd of Destruction must be. Even though it was just a dream, if this girl had seen the true form of the Halberd with her messy S-rank power, her soul would have been destroyed instantly."

Evan was stunned by Anastasia's words. But he suddenly recalled the first time he had entered the closed world of the Dryads and seen the World Tree.

Upon seeing the World Tree, he had unlocked a memory of Azroth destroying the Universal Tree. The weapon Azroth had wielded in that memory, shrouded in black mist, was almost certainly the Halberd of Destruction.

At the time, even though he had already become a Rank One Core Evolver, the memory of seeing the Halberd of Destruction had made his mind buzz and nearly caused him mental injury. (Chap—713)

'It seems she is right. The weapon shrouded in black mist that Valery saw in her dream must have been the Halberd of Destruction…' Evan thought. Then, recalling the Sever move Azroth had used on the Primordial Loli, everything began to fall into place, and he immediately understood what Anastasia was trying to convey.

"Are you saying the Sever move Azroth used might be one of the techniques from the Soul Slayer War Arts that came with the Halberd of Destruction and this technique directly targets a person's source?"

Anastasia smiled at his accurate deduction and nodded.

"Exactly. If my guess is correct, you—or rather, Azroth—used Sever to cut away a portion of that Primordial Loli's source. That severed piece of her source was later divided into two parts. One part gave birth to Winterclaw, while the other part gave birth to your friend here," Anastasia explained, then continued.

"Normally, it's impossible for someone with an incomplete source to survive. However, because the source that gave birth to Winterclaw and Valery belonged to a Primordial, they were able to live despite having incomplete sources. That said, the portion of the source Valery possesses is very small. While it's sufficient to support an S-rank or lower life form, it cannot sustain the existence of a creature beyond S-rank."

Anastasia gazed at the ice cocoon as she continued, "Since the Tree of Life evolved her core to Rank One, her life level has risen to a higher plane. Her small source can no longer sustain her existence, which is why I said she doesn't have much time left to live. As for why her vitality is increasing instead of declining despite her dying state, it's because her source is on the verge of exploding. Right now, it's like a bomb, releasing all its vitality before it detonates."

A look of understanding flashed across Evan's face as he absorbed her words. He also remembered that Elysia had also mentioned Valery's evolution had failed because she was missing something—most likely her source.

Anastasia noticed the thoughtful expression on Evan's face and grew more serious.

"Now that we understand the situation, we have two choices," She said.

Evan turned his attention back to her, waiting for her to elaborate.

"First, we kill Winterclaw and help her absorb his source. But killing that cunning creature won't be easy. Moreover, we don't know what will happen once she absorbs his source. The moment she does, the severed piece of the Primordial's source will undergo a tremendous transformation. There is also a chance that she might awaken some of the Primordial's memories and turn hostile toward us. After all, you were the one who severed her source in the first place."

Evan frowned deeply at her words but didn't respond, knowing she was right.

Seeing his troubled expression, Anastasia took a deep breath and continued.

"The second option… We kill this girl directly and erase all future problems."
