Chapter 331: Arrive Just In Time
Chapter 331: Arrive Just In Time
Huang Qian's expression changed when he spotted a group of soldiers surrounded by deformed monsters.
He rushed toward them, shouting, "It's the soldiers!"
Hearing his shout, the surrounded soldiers turned toward him, their eyes lighting up with hope.
One soldier recognized Li Tianyu and shouted desperately, "Captain Li! Quickly, open the gate!"
A few meters from the gate, Jia Xiang swiftly pulled out the controller and deactivated the electricity. The moment the electricity current stopped, the deformed monsters surged forward.
Seeing this, Huang Qian grabbed a grenade from his backpack and yelled, "Run!"
The soldiers outside the fence, noticing the grenade in his hand, quickly jumped into their military vehicles.
As the vehicles sped past the fence, Huang Qian shouted, "Sister Xiang, Captain Li, get into the car!"
Realizing what he wanted to do, Jia Xiang and Li Tianyu grabbed the hands of soldiers and climbed aboard the military truck with their help. As the military vehicles passed Huang Qian, another soldier reached out and pulled him in.
Without wasting any more time, Huang Qian pulled the grenade's safety pin and threw it at the approaching monsters.
Boom!
The grenade exploded, killing a group of deformed monsters. Seeing that countless monsters were catching up to them, Huang Qian pulled out more grenades from his backpack and threw them one after another.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
When the dust settled, he saw that a significant number of monsters remained. He then took out a satellite phone from his pocket.
As he dialed Shi Xuan's number, Huang Qian said to the soldier holding him, "I'm going down."
The soldier looked at him in shock and said, "It's too dangerous to stay here!"
Huang Qian looked at him and calmly said, "I won't die."
Seeing how confident he was, the soldier finally agreed and let go of his hands.
Jumping down from the military truck, Huang Qian landed smoothly, rolled twice to absorb the impact, and stood up, gripping the phone tightly as the call connected.
"Brother Xuan, the west area needs support!" He shouted while fending off the deformed monsters.
From the control room, Shi Xuan monitored the scene on the main screen.
Seeing the dangerous situation, he clenched his hands until his fingers turned white and said, "Hold on! Captain and the others are on their way."
Before Huang Qian could respond, three deformed monsters lunged at him simultaneously. Realizing there wasn't enough time to dodge, he braced himself for the incoming pain.
Seeing this from afar, Jia Xiang's eyes widened in horror. Rushing toward him, she shouted, "A Qian, watch out!"
Swish Swish Swish-
A second before the claws pierce Huang Qian's eyes, countless vines shoot out from behind, wrapping around his body and the monsters' claws.
Before he could react, Huang Qian felt the vines tighten and pull him backward. As his body flew through the air, a powerful gust of wind surged from behind. In the next second, the deformed monsters were shredded into pieces by countless invisible wind blades.
Landing on the ground, Huang Qian raised his head and saw Yao Ran standing beside him with countless vines shot out from her palms.
Retracting her vines from Huang Qian's body, she said, "I'm sorry we are late. Are you alright?"
Huang Qian grinned and replied, "No. You arrived just in time. I'm fine."
Just when he finished saying that, Jia Xiang rushed to his side, slapped his head, and scolded, "Do you want to die?! What were you thinking, standing there in the middle of the battlefield?!"n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Noticing the anger and worry in her voice, Huang Qian lowered his head and murmured, "I'm sorry."
Before Jia Xiang could continue scolding him, Long Yu interjected, "You can lecture him later. Let's focus on taking down the monsters first."
Hearing this, Jia Xiang took a deep breath to calm herself, then shot Huang Qian a sharp glare before running toward the monsters. Watching her angrily slice through them as if they were tofu, Huang Qian swallowed hard in fear.
Patting his shoulder, Yao Ran said, "Let's go."
With Long Yu and the other's help, they successfully pushed the deformed monsters out from the fence. Once Long Yu turned the electricity back on, everyone finally had a chance to catch their breath.
Standing on the ground littered with sticky black liquid and minced monster flesh, Long Yu looked at the group and said, "Let's clean up and then go back."
"Yes, Captain."
Following his command, Yao Ran and the others began gathering the monsters' remains and piling them up. When the pile was waist-high, Han Renqi used his fire element ability to incinerate the corpses. It took them two more hours to finish clearing the battlefield.
When the task was done, Long Yu called Shi Xuan and asked, "Is there any other area that needs cleaning?"
Shi Xuan checked the surveillance cameras briefly before responding, "The situation is under control now."
Long Yu let out a tired sigh when he heard this. "Good. We will head back."
"Roger that."
After putting away the satellite phone, Long Yu turned to the group and said, "Let's go."
Covered in the monsters' blood and flesh, everyone declined the soldiers' offer to ride in the military vehicles. Instead, they walked ahead while the vehicles followed closely behind, heading toward the air raid shelter.
Upon arrival, Huang Qian led the soldiers to the back entrance to park the vehicles and undergo purification procedures. Meanwhile, Long Yu and the others entered through the
main entrance.
After stepping out of the cleansing room, everyone quickly returned to their bedrooms to take a bath. Fortunately, they had plenty of stored water. Otherwise, they would have to endure the pungent smell and dirt.
Yao Ran had just finished taking a shower when someone knocked on the door. She hung the towel on the towel rack and went to open the door. Before she could see who it was, her wrist
was grabbed.
"Elder Sister Yao Ran, hurry up! Something happened to those soldiers from the Juncheng
Military Base!"
