Chapter 423 Half-Fiend..
"Here," Mariel handed Eli over to Prisania, who cradled him in a princess carry. Prisania's face reddened at the close and vulnerable sight of Eli.
'Damn, his acting is really top-notch...' Prisania thought to herself, impressed by Eli's performance. She glanced at Mariel, who had swiftly positioned herself in front of the hooded figure.
"Thud!"
"You think punching me would be easy?"
The hooded figure caught Mariel's punch effortlessly, but Mariel wasn't done yet.
"Do you think I am a lame fighter?" She countered, her pretty smile belying the intensity in her eyes.
"BOOM!!"
A burst of flames erupted from Mariel's punch, catching the hooded figure off guard and sending them flying backwards.
"Cough, Cough," the hooded figure sputtered, coughing up smoke as it regained its composure. It looked at Mariel with an amused smile hidden beneath the hood and acknowledged, "I guess, you are good."
'Ssllnnngg'
A large sword emerged from the hooded figure's sleeve, stomping on the ground and propelling towards Mariel with force.
Mariel welcomed the challenge, her entire body engulfed in flames and in a matter of seconds that formed into a fiery sword in her hand.
"Ting!"
She skillfully blocked the hooded figure's attack, showcasing her impressive control over fire.
"Impressive..." The hooded figure remarked, genuinely surprised by Mariel's skill.
"Well, mine is even more impressive, you know," Mariel replied confidently, pushing back against the hooded figure's sword with her own.... as the fire sword melted the sword of the hooded figure's.
"tsk" Clicking its tongue in annoyance, the hooded figure crouched low, aiming to attack Mariel's legs. However, Mariel anticipated the move.
"shhh"
With swift agility, Mariel placed her hands on the hooded figure's head, executed a graceful somersault, and flung the figure through the air.
"Thud!"
The hooded figure crashed into the ground and rolled several times before coming to a stop against a tree, temporarily subdued by Mariel's swift and skilful manoeuvre.
"Looks like you're a woman..." Mariel remarked, noticing the hooded figure's long, silky honey-coloured hair that briefly showed.
"Tsk," the hooded figure clicked its tongue in irritation, "Let me tell you, I haven't even used half of my power... I'm only holding back because of his master; otherwise, you'd be grovelling down like a dog," it spat with disdain and anger.
"All talk like a bitchy~" Mariel taunted the hooded figure, provoking a growl in response.
"Grrrr," the hooded figure grinned wickedly, shifting its focus to Prisania, who held Eli while observing the battle, completely unaware of Cambion slowly sneaking up behind them.
'I need to divert their attention while that useless incubus does his job at least for this time.....' the hooded figure thought, preparing for another clash with Mariel.
"Whoa! She is really fighting great..." Prisania's admiration for Mariel's combat skills was evident as she watched the fierce battle unfold. She was so absorbed in observing Mariel's prowess that she momentarily forgot about Cambion, who was stealthily closing in on her.
As Cambion crept closer, ready to seize the opportunity, Evelina's voice cut through the tension like a blade, "Cambion, did you really forget about me?" Her words startled Cambion, causing him to flinch and turn around to face Evelina's stern gaze.
Prisania, also caught off guard by Evelina's sudden intervention, quickly realized Cambion's proximity. "H-haha... I am sorry, I let my guard down," she admitted sheepishly. Her focus on the fight had caused her to overlook Cambion's approach entirely.
"Sigh, you're not quite ready for combat..." Evelina's sigh was laced with disappointment as she assessed Prisania's lapse in awareness. She now understood Eli's reservations about Prisania being in the Assassination group.

It should be Prisania who should sneak around not the other way!
Cambion's face contorted in dread as he realized he was cornered. Just as he was about to attempt an escape, Evelina swiftly moved into action.
'Thud'
'Thud'
'Thud'
In mere moments, Cambion found his limbs severed by Evelina's precise strikes, eliciting agonizing cries of pain from him.
"Arrrhhhh!!" Cambion's voice filled with agony echoed through the forest.
With a menacing grin, Evelina seized Cambion's neck firmly, her eyes gleaming with a mix of satisfaction and malice. "Her Majesty would be delighted to see the man who manipulated her godmother..." Her words dripped with a chilling intent.
Cambion, now gasping for breath and writhing in pain, pleaded desperately, "N-No, anything but that..."
"Hehe..." Evelina's cruel laughter only added to Cambion's terror.
Meanwhile, the hooded figure observed the unfolding chaos, realizing that the situation was escalating beyond their control. Feeling compelled to act, it unleashed its...
"ssshhh"
Mariel's eyes widened in shock as she witnessed her fiery sword being absorbed by the hooded figure's dark blade, which then transformed into a sinister black hue.
"Fiend!" Mariel's expression turned serious as she faced the hooded figure, recognizing the dangerous shift in their enemy's power.
"Yeah, Yeah..." The hooded figure said with a half-assed smile and unleashed its dark mana, which had been suppressed until now.
Instantly, the surroundings lost their vibrant life, drained by the oppressive darkness that filled the air.
Evelina's eyes widened in surprise as she recognized the dark mana's similarity to the Gorilla she had fought before.
"So, You are colliding with a Fiend!!!" Evelina's voice carried a mix of shock and determination as she tightened her grip on Cambion's throat, her mind racing to comprehend the danger they were facing.
"N-No-aarrhh-I-I 'cough' I really don't know 'cough'," Cambion gasped out, his face etched with fear. He had never encountered a Fiend before, let alone colluded with one. In truth, he harboured a deep-seated hatred for them.
Mariel, always vigilant, attempted a long-distance attack, but her fiery assault was devoured by the dark mana emanating from the hooded figure, "Looks like she is indeed a fiend" Mariel remarked, her eyes narrowing as she gauged the situation.
Evelina nodded, acknowledging that Mariel's attack wouldn't even scratch the hooded figure. With a swift motion, Evelina threw Cambion towards Mariel, who caught him effortlessly, her expression a mix of disdain and indifference.
Cracking her knuckles, Evelina squared off against the hooded figure, her eyes gleaming with determination. "I haven't encountered a Fiend capable of wielding such potent dark mana before... maybe one..." Evelina remarked, her voice carrying a hint of caution.
The hooded figure remained silent, its gaze focused intently on Evelina. With a sudden movement, it swung its dark black sword at Evelina, the blade humming with sinister energy.
Reacting swiftly, Evelina brought up her own sword, the metal crackling as it clashed with the dark blade and instantly it turned into dust due to the dark mana...
However, Evelina paid it no mind, her focus solely on her objective.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Evelina unleashed a powerful punch aimed at the hooded figure's head, channelling all her strength into the blow.
"BOOM!!"
The hooded figure was sent hurtling through the air, crashing into several trees with tremendous force, their trunks splintering upon impact.
However,
"E-Evelina... You..." Mariel's voice trembled with concern as she watched Evelina's transformation unfold.
Evelina's body began to darken, the blackness spreading from her hand to half of her face, engulfing her in a shadowy aura that seemed to devour her essence... like a half-fiend.
"Rrrroooaarrrrrr!" Evelina's agonized roar filled the air as she grappled with the excruciating pain, the darkness threatening to consume her from within.
