My Celestial Ascension

Chapter 639 Heavenly Thunder Spear

"Yuan… He actually bid for this treasure. But why? Why would he want a weapon that no one can wield? What's his purpose?" Emperor Philip muttered, his face a mixture of surprise and confusion.

"I-I don't know…" Selena replied with a soft sigh, her gaze fixed on the beautiful silver-and-gold spear now belonging to Yuan. "While I agree they're powerful and shrouded in mystery, I can't fathom why they'd want such a weapon. Only they can answer that."

Daniel, however, broke into a wide grin. Looking at his parents, he said confidently, "Didn't I tell you he'd bid for this treasure? He may wield a massive sword himself, but one of his women uses a golden spear with a similar aura to this one."

"What?!" Priscilla exclaimed, her eyes widening. "Why didn't you tell us this earlier?"

Daniel shook his head and replied, "I did tell everyone here that there were people in the stadium capable of wielding that spear. But none of you believed me, so I thought it wasn't worth saying anything further."

Selena sighed again, her expression tinged with regret. "It's such a shame we couldn't acquire this weapon. It's a significant loss for our empire."

"Indeed," Emperor Philip agreed, his tone heavy with disappointment. "If we'd secured it, we could have used its material to craft two or three powerful magical weapons by combining it with other rare ores."

He paused, his thoughts drifting to a sobering realization. Despite his regret, he knew better than to challenge Yuan. Yuan's elder sister, Valeria, was not only stronger but also far wealthier than he was. She spent her time slaying powerful magical beasts and fighting in fierce battles, accumulating resources beyond his reach.

'Going against Yuan would only lead to a thorough beating from Valeria,' he thought with a wry smile, imagining her wrath. 'And that would mean broken bones and a swollen face.'

Leaning back on the sofa, Philip sighed inwardly. 'Still, this might be for the best. If the other empires or the Ten Great Families had secured this treasure, their strength would have grown considerably. At least Yuan's victory keeps it out of their hands.'

Meanwhile, in another VIP room, Denise was seething with rage. His fist slammed into the table, shattering it with a single blow.

His face burned with fury as he bellowed, "Who the hell is he?! How dare he get in my way?! I'll kill him!"

Taking a deep breath, his voice turned into an impatient roar. "And where is Uncle Gordon?! Why hasn't he returned yet?!"

Denise's rage only grew with every passing moment. His humiliation burned like fire, and his frustration threatened to consume him entirely.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

At the same time, Ajex stared intently at VIP room number one, a deep and contemplative look on his face as he furrowed his brows in thought.

"Young Master, what are you thinking? Are you perhaps considering negotiating with them for the treasure?" his protector asked, his own brow knitted in confusion as he tried to discern Ajex's thoughts.

"No," Ajex replied with a sigh, shaking his head. He wasn't confident that the occupants of VIP room number one would even entertain the idea of negotiation.

"But—" his protector began to protest, only for Ajex to cut him off.

"It's not worth it," Ajex said firmly, his tone heavy with resignation. "I don't think it's a good idea to offend them. I don't have the slightest sliver of hope that I could win against even one person inside that room."

The protector stared at Ajex, disbelief etched across his face. The Young Master, known for his unyielding bravery and confidence, now seemed hesitant and almost…defeated.

'This is unbelievable… I've never seen Young Master Ajex like this before. He looks… defeated,' the protector thought, struggling to reconcile this image with the man he served.

Meanwhile, in another VIP room, Elias seethed with rage. His gaze burned with hatred as he stared in the direction of VIP room number one, his clenched fists trembling with frustration. His face reddened, veins bulging from his temple as he struggled to contain his fury.

"Just who the hell is inside that room?! Why are they getting in my way?! I've never seen anyone so bold before!" The Magic Knight Captain roared, slamming his fist on the table and shattering it into pieces.

"Calm down. Shouting will accomplish nothing," Elias said coldly, his voice eerily calm despite the storm of anger brewing inside him. His distant gaze only added to the weight of his words as he sought to regain his composure.

"Don't worry," he continued, a dark edge creeping into his voice. "I'm already planning to pay them a proper visit once the auction ends. They'll understand the weight of their sins soon enough. And then, they will pay for them."

"That sounds perfect, Young Master," the Magic Knight Captain replied, his lips curling into a sinister grin. "Let's make them pay for their arrogance. How dare they act so boldly in front of us?" He let out a cold, menacing laugh, his murderous intent evident.

Elias's own grin widened, his tone dripping with mockery. "Hmph! Who do they think they are? I'll show them what it means to go against one of the Ten Great Families."

Meanwhile, in her own VIP room, Aisha watched the events unfold with a smirk. Unlike the others, she wasn't angry or disappointed about losing such a valuable treasure. To her, the spear was secondary—her reasons for attending the auction went far beyond mere bidding.

Her smirk deepened as she glanced at VIP room number one. 'Something tells me my questions will finally be answered once I visit them.'

"Lady Aisha, forgive my confusion," Jones, her loyal subordinate, spoke hesitantly. "Why didn't you raise the bid for the treasure? We have more than enough gold coins—enough to buy ten or fifteen such treasures. I can't understand your reasoning."

"It's simple, Uncle Jones. I just don't think it's worth spending so much money on a weapon I can't even wield," Aisha replied with a slight smile.

She continued, "Besides, we know nothing about the materials that spear is made of. Working with an unknown metal would be incredibly challenging."

"You're right about that, Lady Aisha," Jones nodded with a smile. "Indeed, it's not worth investing in something unusable. It would take years of research to understand the material before we could craft another weapon from it."

"That's why I decided not to compete for this treasure once the price went too high. It's just not worth it," Aisha said firmly.

"What about them, then? Why did they buy it at such a sky-high price? Are they out of their minds?" Jones asked, his tone laced with disbelief.

"Perhaps, but I don't think they're just idiots flaunting their wealth. They must know something about this treasure that we don't. Of course, that's just my theory, so don't take it too seriously," Aisha said with a soft smile.

"I apologize to VIP Room Number One, but we won't be able to deliver this treasure to your room. I hope you can understand our reasons. After all, this treasure is extremely heavy," Teressa said, her tone apologetic as she tried to sound convincing.

"Don't worry about it, Miss Teressa. And there's no need to take the weapon anywhere—I'll pick it up myself," Yuan's voice suddenly resounded through the stadium, causing an uproar.

Many in the crowd thought Yuan was boasting or acting arrogant. After all, how could anyone possibly lift such a treasure alone, let alone move it? However, a few people, apart from his wives, believed in his words.

"Pick it up? Are you certain?" Teressa asked, visibly shocked. Her voice betrayed her concern, and her expression made it evident. "This treasure can't be lifted by a single person. Even the magic pouch didn't work on it!"

Yuan didn't respond. Instead, he tore through the concealment barrier and slowly floated out of the VIP room. He hovered in the air just outside, shocking everyone who witnessed the scene.

"H-He's flying! He's flying!"

"This is unbelievable! How is he doing that?"

"No human should be able to fly! And I can't sense even a trace of mana from his body! What is this?!"

The stadium filled with shocked murmurs as the crowd stared in disbelief. Yuan was floating effortlessly, defying both gravity and logic, without any visible use of mana.

Even the Ten Great Families, along with other prominent noble and royal families, were in a state of disbelief. Their eyes widened in astonishment, almost as if they might pop out of their sockets.

'H-He can fly?! This is unbelievable! How is he doing this? And why can't I sense any mana from his body, even though he's flying?' Teressa wondered inwardly, her shock evident on her beautiful face.

Yuan slowly descended next to Teressa, a small smile on his face. His eyes were fixed on the beautiful spear lying on the wooden box, its powerful aura making his heart skip a beat.

"Amazing! This is truly beautiful… As expected of an Immortal Grade weapon!" Yuan exclaimed with a wide grin as he approached the spear, completely ignoring Teressa.

'This will suit Vanessa perfectly… She'll look incredible holding this spear,' he thought inwardly, imagining Vanessa wielding the weapon in front of him.
