Let's Train Heroine

Chapter 269 Heroine's Love is Fighting 2

Lucan felt the air grow impossibly cold as Bing prepared to unleash another wave of her ice magic, her enormous maw opening wide, the breath inside her lungs shimmering with deadly frost. He knew he couldn't dodge this time—the attack was too vast, too powerful. He needed to act quickly.

Without hesitation, he raised his hand and summoned the Eclipse Veil.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

A barrier of pure darkness enveloped him, a swirling dome of shadow that seemed to swallow the light around it. The instant the veil solidified, Bing released her devastating attack. An overwhelming torrent of ice shot forward, crashing into the barrier with a deafening roar. The sheer force of it shook the ground, sending shards of frozen debris flying in all directions.

The impact reverberated through Lucan's body, and he gritted his teeth, pouring more of his energy into maintaining the barrier. The Eclipse Veil was holding, but he could feel the strain as the darkness absorbed the tremendous power of Bing's ice magic. His mana reserves were being drained rapidly—much faster than he anticipated.

Cold sweat dripped down his forehead as the barrier trembled under the onslaught. The darkness pulsed around him, growing thinner with each passing second. The edges of the veil flickered, threatening to collapse under the relentless pressure.

"I can't hold this forever," Lucan muttered, his eyes narrowing as he focused on the massive dragon in front of him. He needed a plan—and fast.

The attack finally ceased, leaving the town square in eerie silence. The veil shimmered as the last remnants of Bing's magic dissipated into the air. Lucan dropped to one knee, panting, his hands shaking as he let the veil fall. His body felt heavy, his limbs numb from the cold and the exhaustion of maintaining the shield. The one thing he was thankful is that, he could recover his mana quickly.

Bing hovered above him, her massive wings creating gusts of freezing wind. Her cold, reptilian eyes narrowed as she observed Lucan. "Impressive," she hissed, her voice like ice grinding against ice. "Few have survived my magic for this long."

Lucan forced himself to stand, his breath coming in ragged gasps. "You'll find I'm not so easily beaten," he said.

Bing's eyes gleamed with amusement. "Then let's see how you handle this!"

With a mighty roar, she descended toward him, her massive body smashing into the frozen ground with enough force to shake the entire town. The impact sent shockwaves rippling through the earth, shattering what remained of the buildings around her. Her enormous tail swung through the air, obliterating the nearby structures with ease.

Lucan barely had time to react. He leapt backward, dodging a massive chunk of debris that crashed into the street where he had been standing moments before. The ground trembled beneath him as Bing's tail smashed into another building, sending shards of ice and stone flying through the air.

"She's trying to overwhelm me," Lucan thought, his mind racing as he dodged another strike. He couldn't afford to rely on the Eclipse Veil again—not while his energy was so depleted. He needed to outthink her.

Bing's brute strength was terrifying, but it was also predictable. She was massive, powerful, and relentless, but her attacks were broad and left gaps in her defense. If Lucan could find an opening, he might be able to land a decisive blow.

Summoning what remained of his energy, Lucan used Shadow Step again, disappearing into the nearest shadow as Bing's tail crashed down behind him. He reappeared on a rooftop, watching the dragon below him, her massive form sending ripples through the snow-covered ground.

"I just need one clear shot," Lucan whispered, his eyes locking onto the vulnerable spot beneath her scales that he had seen earlier. But he knew it wouldn't be easy. Bing's sheer size made her hard to approach, and her attacks left little room for error.

He needed a distraction—something to throw her off balance.

With a flick of his wrist, Lucan summoned a surge of water magic, sending a torrent of icy water crashing toward Bing's wings. The water froze instantly upon contact, solidifying around her wings and weighing her down.

Bing roared in frustration, thrashing against the sudden weight. Her massive body lurched forward, smashing into the frozen ground as she tried to free herself. This was his chance.

"Now or never," Lucan muttered, his hand glowing with light magic as he prepared for his next move.

Lucan leaped from the rooftop, aiming directly at the gap beneath Bing's scales that he had spotted earlier. His hand glowed with light magic, ready to strike at the dragon's weak spot. But just as he closed in, Bing let out a deafening roar, and the air around them changed.

Without warning, the ice that encased the town began to shift. Spikes of jagged ice erupted from the ground, shooting upward toward Lucan, forcing him to twist mid-air. One of the spikes grazed his side, cutting through his cloak and biting into his flesh. He grunted in pain but managed to land on his feet, though his momentum was lost.

Bing's eyes narrowed with cruel amusement. "Did you think I wouldn't notice your little tricks, human?"

Before Lucan could respond, the ice spikes multiplied, surrounding him in a ring of deadly sharp edges. He had no choice but to teleport away, using Shadow Step to blink out of the trap and reappear a few feet away, panting. The pain in his side throbbed, but there was no time to tend to it. Bing wasn't giving him any breaks.

With a flick of her massive claw, Bing sent another wave of ice spikes hurtling toward him, forcing Lucan to teleport again. He darted between shadows, moving as fast as he could to avoid the barrage of ice that now seemed to come from every direction.

But the dragon's control over ice was far more intricate than just launching frozen projectiles. As Lucan dodged, he noticed that the spikes weren't random—they were forming a barrier around him, cutting off his escape routes, boxing him in. Bing was toying with him, using her powers to trap him in a cage of ice.

His vision started to blur as the cold became more oppressive. Snowstorms conjured by Bing's magic swirled around them, making it nearly impossible to see more than a few feet ahead. The ground was shifting beneath his feet as more ice formations rose from the earth, creating a maze of obstacles.

Lucan clenched his jaw, struggling to keep his focus. He couldn't rely on brute strength or endurance—he knew that. The Eclipse Veil had drained a significant portion of his mana, and now his Shadow Step was the only thing keeping him alive. But even that had limits. Bing was too strong, and every second he spent dodging was a second wasted.

To make matters worse, as soon as he managed to land a blow—small, precise strikes at her exposed joints—Bing would simply manipulate the ice around her to heal. Frozen flesh would reform, sealing the wounds as though they were never there. Every effort he made was undone in moments, her regenerative abilities making her seemingly invincible.

"Is this all you've got?" Bing taunted, her voice echoing through the storm. "You're nothing more than a fly buzzing around, trying to land a meaningless strike. You can't beat me."

Lucan's mind raced. She was right. He couldn't beat her in a battle of endurance—her control over ice was too overwhelming, and the storm obscured his vision, preventing him from finding another opening.

As another spike of ice shot toward him, he teleported once more, barely avoiding it. But he was slower now. His mana reserves were running low, and every step took more out of him. The cold bit into his skin, numbing his fingers and making it harder to focus.

"I need to find another way," Lucan muttered through gritted teeth. He couldn't keep running. Bing was playing with him, drawing out the fight, waiting for him to slip up so she could finish him off. He had to end this before that happened.

A thought struck him—Bing's ice manipulation was flawless, but there was one thing he still had that she couldn't control: the shadows. They were the one thing that her ice couldn't penetrate, the one thing that offered him some level of freedom.

Summoning the last of his strength, Lucan used Shadow Step again, this time not to dodge but to reposition. He blinked through the storm, moving from shadow to shadow, getting closer to Bing while staying just out of sight. She knew he was there, but the blizzard made it harder for her to pinpoint his exact location.

In the cover of darkness, Lucan formulated a plan. If he couldn't strike directly at her, then perhaps he could disrupt the very ice that gave her strength. He needed to attack the core of her power, the magic that kept her regenerating.

As he drew closer, he used the ability he didn't want. Void Sight. He activated it once more, despite the toll it took on him, and through the storm, through the blinding cold, he saw it.

The ice around Bing wasn't just a tool for her attacks—it was connected to her, flowing like blood through her veins. It was part of her magic, sustaining her, fueling her regeneration. Enjoy exclusive adventures from empire

Lucan's eyes narrowed. If he could disrupt that flow, even for a moment, he might stand a chance.

Gathering his strength, Lucan conjured a pulse of Black Magic, aiming it not at Bing but at the ice surrounding her. The dark energy rippled through the air, crackling with power, and as it struck the ice, there was a sudden shudder.

For the briefest moment, Bing faltered. The ice around her body flickered, the regeneration slowing. Lucan saw his chance.

Without hesitation, he lunged forward, using Shadow Step one last time to close the distance. His blade, glowing with light magic, struck true, piercing through the gap beneath her scales and driving deep into her flesh.

Bing roared in pain, her massive body thrashing as the magic pulsed through her. Lucan felt the cold bite into him again, but he didn't let go. He held on, pushing the blade deeper, channeling every last ounce of his power into the strike.
