Chapter 896: Overwhelming Joy

When Gu Huanhuan woke up, she saw that people all over the world had tagged her on Weibo with their sincere well wishes.

She was confused. From her memory, she hadn’t touched her phone since she went into the delivery suite. What happened? She opened her Weibo homepage and saw Wen Chi’s post. She was instantly touched.

Not long after, Shu Pan walked into her ward with a fruit basket. Gu Shaoting stayed away as he was a man and it wasn’t that convenient for him to visit a new mom. Shu Pan walked in when Wen Chi was wringing a face towel dry as he helped Gu Huanhuan clean her face.

Wen Chi greeted Shu Pan when he saw her. He then left to buy some breakfast.

He figured that the two women would have much more to talk about when left alone.

“Wen Chi is a really good husband to you.” Shu Pan said with envy after Wen Chi left the ward.

Shu Pan bent over to look at the little angel in the rib as she spoke. The little cutie was so pretty and sleeping so soundly…

“Cousin-in-law, listen to yourself. Isn’t my cousin a good husband to you too?” Gu Huanhuan teased. It was public knowledge that the CEO of Gu Group was a doting and dedicated husband to his wife…

“Sigh. Huanhuan, you have no idea how much of an art marriage is. Your cousin and I giving each other the silent treatment now.” Shu Pan said begrudgingly, her tone resentful.

“What happened? Are you alright?” Gu Huanhuan asked with concern. She hadn’t heard of any conflict between the couple for a long time.

“It’s the same old problem. Your cousin has a ton of social engagements with his business partners lately and he’s been drinking more. You also know that he has a stomach problem but he just doesn’t take good care of himself. If I mention it too much, he complains that I’m nagging.” Shu Pan had been really upset. She and Gu Shaoting had quarreled twice over this, but he still didn’t seem to take the matter to heart.

Shu Pan felt like she had been punching cotton; her punches had absolutely no effect.

“My cousin is really something. Ignore him and let him worry for a while.” Gu Huanhuan said a little angrily.

Shu Pan looked up at Gu Huanhuan and said, “Let’s not talk about him anymore. It’s such a killjoy. Our little darling is the cutest. My heart melts when I see her. I heard that your pregnancy was uneventful and you gave birth to her the next minute. Did the little darling give you a hard time?”

“It was okay. I was in labor for less than three hours. She came out faster than I thought.” Gu Huanhuan nodded gently.

“But it was too painful.” Gu Huanhuan could not help but complain.

“You actually forgot all your pain when you saw her, right?” Shu Pan had been through it, so she understood the feeling.

Shu Pan was very glad when she saw how loving Wen Chi and Gu Huanhuan were.

Gu Huanhuan recovered well after childbirth but Wen Chi still refused to let her do anything. He insisted that she rested in bed and did everything he could do for her. Wen Chi didn’t even bat an eyelid when he was seen helping Gu Huanhuan clean her face.

Gu Huanhuan’s face turned red when others saw the gentle and caring side of Wen Chi but she couldn’t be happier.

Gu Huanhuan was discharged after four days in the hospital. Reporters who had heard the news pointed their cameras at the entrance of the hospital. When Wen Chi walked out with Gu Huanhuan carrying the baby, camera shutters and flashes clicked non-stop.

Gu Huanhuan didn’t want their effort to go to waste and granted them a quick interview.

“First of all, a big thank you to all my friends for your concern. The baby and I are doing very well. As I’m still weak, I’d like to ask for a little more recovery time before I give everyone more satisfactory answers.”

Because Gu Huanhuan was very sincere and new moms recovering from childbirth shouldn’t be exposed to the cold, the reporters all made way for Wen Chi and Gu Huanhuan to leave the hospital.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
