Chapter 1176 Free-For-All (3)
The moment Kyran's magic pressure erupted, the young talents that rushed toward him stopped in their tracks. Unlike the selected few among the audience, they knew nothing about Chaos magic. But that was not to say they did not know who Coelus was and what he did in the past because they did. Instead, they did not know how Chaos magic energy felt because they had never met anyone who could use it.
What they did know was that the energy surrounding Kyran was different from the Draconic magic they were all familiar with. For this reason, they all stopped in their tracks, thinking that Kyran was about to reveal his 'second' innate magic.
However, the older generation among the audience and the tribe leaders who knew about Coelus and were also familiar with Chaos magic energy had a different opinion, and the patriarchs who had their talent participating in the match became anxious.
"The Spar Matches has been a regular event during the Grand Gathering."
Eissen's voice echoed throughout the dome before any tribe leaders could move.
"Should I say the rules once more?"
"..."
All patriarchs and their second-in-command fell silent. They did not expect their plan to backfire like this. They would not have fallen into their trap if they had reigned in their curiosity and waited for the closed-door meeting on the last day.
Even if they wanted to throw in the towel now and stop the match, they would suffer humiliation with the current free-for-all setting, more so when their supposed target had only released his magic pressure.
Back in the arena.
At the same time, the talents stopped in their tracks; Kyran had also finished covering himself with Chaos magic energy. Without waiting for the talents to recover or react, he used Dragon Steps and immediately closed the gap between him and the closest talent.
"!"
However, a dragon's natural senses were still something Kyran could not underestimate. Even before his fist could take the young talent by surprise, the young talent had already recovered and did a backflip, dodging his fist by a hair's breadth.
"Ngh!" the young talent greeted his teeth as Kyran's fist, laced with magic energy, grazed his armor. He did three more backflips because Kyran did not stop with one punch. He did not know how the latter did it, but he connected another attack with that missed punch and launched a combo using his other limbs.
Right fist— 180-degree turn with the left fist aimed at the target's torso— right kick to the leg— stomp— backkick with the left.
Although Kyran's combo did not land solidly on his target, he was not disappointed. In fact, he never really aimed at his target's body. Instead, he aimed at the weak points of his target's defensive spells.
One thing about Chaos magic that Kyran learned in the past few days was that its nature was genuinely chaotic.
The moment it collided with another mage's magic, it could disrupt the energy flow of that mage's magic. In the case of a defensive spell, once its flow was disrupted, what followed right after was very obvious. The defensive spell would crumble.
SHATTER!
"Wha—?"
The young talent was shocked as his defensive spell shattered without even knowing how. He could not dwell on being shocked because that moment's pause caused him his defeat.
Kyran's combo did not stop with him doing a backkick with his left. He continued using the same momentum right after that kick and did a roundhouse kick, aiming at the young talent's head.
Dragons in human form were still far taller and sturdier. It was not wrong to say that most of them were similar to humans with buffed physiques.
Kyran's first target was such a dragon.
Thus, Kyran knew that kicking the young talent with his enhanced strength, which was also amplified by the concept Ambros used during their match, was not enough to knock him out. Which was why he aimed at the spot, just above the ears, to ensure the young talent would take a solid hit.
BAM!
"Guah!"
Kyran's feet landed squarely on the young talent's head, rattling the latter's brain to the point of unconsciousness.
The young talent collapsed on the floor with a loud thud, causing the audience and the rest of the young talents participating in the free-for-all to gape in shock.
How could a seemingly ordinary kick knock a dragon in a single hit? More importantly, the one who landed that kick was a human who was so skinny by a dragon's standard. Even if the young talent might not be used to moving around and conditioning himself using a human's body, at the end of the day, their body's composition was still that of a dragon.
"!"
The audience snapped out of their trance as they watched Kyran zoned in on a new target.
All the talents in the arena also regained their composure and no longer hesitated. They could not allow Kyran to gain momentum. Moreover, it did not seem like Kyran was using a different kind of magic.
From the start, Kyran only used brute strength to force his way in toward his first target's defenses.
Dilitrio might have mistaken Kyran for using innate magic that was different from his usual magic when he might have only cast a support-type spell.

It should be noted that a support-type spell could possess an unfamiliar magic signature if it were a combination of three different types of magic.
With this in mind, all the young talents regained their composure and initiated their initial plan to attack Kyran from all directions.
One of the young talents, who used his magic to project his dragon tail, was the first to rush in on Kyran.
Kyran, midway to his next target, stopped just in time as the young talent with a projected dragon tail somersaulted and used his tail to do a stunt similar to a dropkick.
BOOM!
The ground where the young talent's tail turned into a small crater, with dust and rubbles filling the surroundings.
The young talent dropped to the crater and looked up. He knew Kyran managed to stop before he could land an attack. If this had been any other match, he would have already sprung out of the crater and gone after Kyran. However, this match was considered a team effort. He knew that even if he had not gone after Kyran, someone else would have come after him.
And he was right.
After Kyran dodged the latter's dragon tail, another young talent rushed him from three different directions.
Although it seemed that the three dragons would crash into each other if Kyran managed to escape, that would not happen. After all, Kyran could not find a gap to avoid their incoming attacks.
One of the talents was rushing from above, with both his fists projecting dragon claws. The second talent was aiming at his torso with a molded Ice spear. Finally, the third one, aimed at Kyran's legs, used molded weapons resembling blade-whips.
Controlling weapons like whips was usually hard. But the young talent was able to control the blade-whip with such ease. Not only that, he could control two simultaneously like they were part of an extension of his limbs.
This was why Kyran could not evade the three dragons' attack easily.
But Kyran never intended to dodge their attacks anyway. Not when he was protected by Chaos magic.
Kyran's eyes flashed as he rotated in place. The Chaos magic energy that covered his body erupted, causing a small whirlwind that deflected the incoming attacks from the three dragons.
"Argh!"
However, deflecting the attacks was not the only thing the Chaos magic energy did.
Similar to what happened to Kyran's first target, the moment Chaos touched the talent armor and defensive spells, cracks formed on the former while the latter crumbled.
Not only that.
Since the three talents were exposed to the Chaos's energy, it successfully disrupted their magic energy circulation.
The dragon tail projection, the molded weapons, the Ice spear, and the blade whips crumbled without the support of their magic.
Kyran did not simply stay idle while this happened. The moment their defenses crumbled, he took them out with a punch to the face, a palm move on the chest, and a kick to the side of the shin, respectively.
The first talent was punched in the face and got his nose broken, while the second one, who was hit with a palm move, was forced several meters back. Lastly, the third talent kicked on the shin's side and fell backward, but not before hearing a bone-shattering sound.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"AAAAHHH!"
For the first time, Kyran witnessed a dragon scream with such gusto.
Alright. It was not precisely a scream of happiness, but Kyran found the third talent's scream satisfying. He had nothing against the dragons. But as long as they continue to target him and any of his people, he will repay them in kind. Feeling amused or happy as a result of his retaliation was expected.
Kyran did not render the three talents unconscious. However, because of the effects of Chaos magic, they could no longer circulate their magic energy properly and were considered out of commission.
