Chapter 734: Chapter Twenty-eight: Record (Pleading for a Monthly Ticket! XOXO!)
Tang Luo, armed with pen and paper, moved amongst the main peak of Bifang Mountain, recording the details of each arena champion. A young boy, who had grown over time, loyally accompanied him, his eyes shining with battle fervor as he watched the arena.
…First arena, practices metal-based cultivation, skilled in boxing and kicking techniques, strong and resilient, inherently agile, advanced cultivation in the ‘Transcendent Peak’, a perfect balance of speed and strength…
…Third arena, practices fire-based cultivation, skilled in swordsmanship… highly advanced in the cultivation of unity of spirit and intent, quick and sharp, top-tier combat intuition…
…Eleventh arena, practices five-elements cultivation, skillful in Spirit Art, Five Elements Spirit Body lineage, advanced cultivation in the unity of spirit and intent…
…Eighteenth arena… Wind Spirit Body lineage… advanced cultivation in the unity of spirit and intent…
…Twenty-third arena… Divine Wood lineage… advanced cultivation in the unity of spirit and intent…
…Twenty-seventh arena… Dragon Spirit lineage… starter level in Fierce Realm…
Spotting the 28th arena, Tang Luo focused his attention on the battle in the ring. Distraction pulled at his sleeve, and he looked down to see his excited younger brother, Tang Xing.
“Brother, the disciples of Martial Saint Mountain are so strong!”
“Feeling the itch to fight?”
“Yes!” Tang Xing nodded earnestly. His eyes were filled with resolve as he said, “I want to fight them.”
“Can you beat them?”
“I can’t beat them!” said Tang Xing honestly. Although he still harbored the idea of acquiring the champion seal from the last Spiritual Fire Pride, he realized that the talk of who was stronger and who was weaker was nonsense after truly observing the arena champions.
Were there any weaklings in the arena? It was simply a congregation of strong fighters and those who were even stronger than them!
The rare earth level lineage holders took up seventy percent of the champions in the hundred arenas. The remaining thirty percent were, at the very least, naturally-gifted martial artists possessing human-level lineage – either blessed with natural strength or agile and fleet-footed, with heightened senses as standard equipment.
The reason why Tang Xing, who had no ounce of lineage talent, was so excited was because he felt that he could not confidently defeat any of the fighters in the arena.
Before experiencing the melding with heaven and earth, Tang Xing’s goal in any match was to win – losing would sadden him. After the experience, however, he stopped fighting merely for victory. He came to realize that losing was more nourishing.
“Though I can’t win, I feel stronger already by just having one fight!” Tang Xing said earnestly, his eyes glowing at his brother. “Can I?”
“Of course, you can.” Tang Luo gave Tang Xing’s softened little head a good rub, pointing at the first arena in the distance. “The champion of the first arena may not have earth level lineage, but his boxing and kicking techniques are quite rare at his age. He’s most suitable for testing your martial capabilities. If he comes close, surrender immediately. Do not hesitate, so as not to hurt yourself.”
“Got it, brother!”
Seeing the lively little fella dashing towards the first arena, Tang Luo revealed a pleased smile like a kind aunt. Since the beginning, he had only brought Tang Xing here to broaden his horizons.
As for defeating all the geniuses from famous families and crushing the disciples of Martial Saint Mountain, he had never dreamed of it.
After all, the little guy was neither inherently outstanding nor awakened to any lineage, to beat geniuses at least ten years his senior, who had been groomed under the wealth of prominent families, was too whimsical, let alone these outer disciples of Martial Saint Mountain.
But what delighted Tang Luo was that, upon seeing invincible opponents, there was no fear, but surges of the will to fight. In terms of psychological quality alone, the little guy has surpassed many formidable fighters.
Well, consider it an eye-opener.
Everyone has their time to shine. Clearly, it wasn’t Tang Xing’s turn yet, but after this battle, he was certain to experience swift growth.
Ah, how promising! The delighted elder brother’s footsteps lightened as he continued recording the arena information. From time to time, a brilliant smile would appear on his face. Soon, he arrived at the 36th arena.
Whoa! This person looks familiar!
Tang Luo couldn’t help but take a few extra glances, confirming that this was indeed the child warrior from Martial Saint Mountain he had once crossed swords with in Xiling.
Glancing around, he noticed that this arena attracted a noticeably larger crowd compared to others. The mere handful of spectators at other arenas was in stark contrast.
“Hey, brother.” Tang Luo asked jovially to a young nobleman beside him, “Why are there so many people around this arena? Does the champion possess some special qualities?”
The young nobleman measured Tang Luo from head to toe, confirming that he was not the son of one of the major families before he replied dismissively, “Because he’s the youngest champion in this martial arts conference, so many families choose to start from him. Why? Interested?”
The young nobleman gave Tang Luo’s young, good-looking face another look and shook his head. “I’d advise you to forget it. This young champion is not simple.”
Just then, a figure was thrown from the arena, flying dozens of feet before crashing to the ground.
“See for yourself.” He pointed first at the challenger who was thrown out, then at the young champion meditating on the platform. “To have achieved such accomplishments at such a young age… No doubt he’s a Martial Saint Mountain stalwart’s progeny. Surely, there’s a place for him amongst this year’s inner disciples!”
“Thank you for the advice.”
“It’s no big deal.” The young noble waved his hand, then turned his attention to another arena, mumbling under his breath, “Everyone wants to take advantage of the young champion, but now – send a few up, and a few get wounded. I’m not going anywhere near that ticking time bomb.”
As the nobleman strolled off, Tang Luo looked towards the old acquaintance on the platform with amusement and annoyance, cursing inwardly.
He still remembered when Bu Xiao introduced him as an outer disciple of Martial Saint Mountain. Now it was evident that this was a member of the Bu Family, possibly a cousin equivalent to Bu Xiao. Extrapolating from his current level of spiritual power…
In just seven years, he had cultivated from the initial stage of ‘Transcendent’ to the level of unity of spirit and intent – the guy’s talent must be around 1.4. No matter how sacred Martial Saint Mountain was, he wouldn’t believe that a disciple picked at random would be this terrifying.
Just as he was about to leave, he heard the familiar sound of footsteps. Looking around, he saw the same old boy ping-ponging about.
“Lost?”
“Yes!” Without the slightest sense of dejection, Tang Xing replied with excitement, “Brother, did you know! Spiritual Power could be used this way! He used all the pores of his body to inhale and exhale Spiritual Power. With his feet unmoving, he can teleport, and his speed is like a ghost. I didn’t even have time to solidify my Spiritual Fire seal when he got close. If I hadn’t admitted defeat in time, I would’ve been injured…..”n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
The overexcited boy was completely oblivious to the volume of his words. As this was the hottest arena of Bifang Mountain, his words attracted frequent glances from the crowd who were curious as to who was this fellow that had surrendered without a fight.
Not to mention, the young champion in meditation, unable to restrain himself, had opened his eyes to see which reckless challenger from a renowned family was making these comments.
So young!
The young champion instantaneously spotted the animated Tang Xing and only one thought crossed his mind. If an adult nobleman from a well-known family said the same words, they’d be considered an idiot without doubt.
But when we heard those words from a child of about ten, one sees a future filled with boundless prospects.
