Chapter 43 Liu Yan Is Ready to Fulfill Her Promise
Shortly after, the junior officer brought Qin Feng and Chuchu to the door of an office.
“Reporting, Commander! A level-four citizen wishes to see you, claiming there is an urgent matter that must be reported in person!” The officer stood at attention, saluting the door.
“Come in!” A lazy voice came from within.
Creak~!
With a soft creak, the door opened. The officer led Qin Feng inside.
“It’s you!” Liu Yan instantly recognized Qin Feng, her eyes lighting up.
Qin Feng smiled as well.
At this moment, Liu Yan was wearing a perfectly fitted military uniform, her posture straight, exuding an aura of both authority and beauty, with a slim waist and a commanding presence.
“Why did you leave last time without saying goodbye?” Liu Yan then glanced at the junior officer. “Lieutenant Wang, bring a cup of tea for this young man and the little girl.”
“Yes, Commander!”
Lieutenant Wang cast Qin Feng a complicated look. Who would’ve thought that this young man not only knew their commander but seemed quite familiar with her?
“Please, sit down!” Liu Yan smiled, inviting them.
Her office was quite large, with a dedicated area for receiving guests, complete with a tea table and sofas.
Once Qin Feng and Chuchu were seated, Liu Yan also walked over and sat across from them, crossing her long legs.
“Young man, I still need to thank you. Last time, following your advice, I managed to get an artifact with an 86% power amplification. Next time you go to the Yuanqi Pavilion, remember to call me along,” Liu Yan said, her face showing her excitement.
Qin Feng smiled and said, “That was just luck. Once or twice might work, but going too often won’t. Actually, I came today to ask for your help.”
“What do you need? Just say it.”
“I need a place to stay at your residence for the night.”
Just as Lieutenant Wang was bringing the tea, he heard these words and was so startled that he nearly spilled the boiling water. His face twitched from the shock.
Oh my god!
Do you even know who you’re talking to?
Commander Liu was known for her no-nonsense, decisive style. She was like a queen who wouldn’t tolerate any disrespect.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
And this Qin Feng, did he just ask to spend the night with her?
Was he seeking his own demise?
“Stay overnight?” Liu Yan blushed slightly, as if she recalled something. “Why did you leave without a word last time?”
Last time, Qin Feng’s abrupt departure had left her somewhat disappointed.
“I had urgent matters to attend to at the time, so I had to leave. But now, I’m here. It’s not too late, is it?”
“Not at all!” Liu Yan’s cheeks reddened as she chuckled softly.
“I, Liu Yan, always keep my promises. If I said I’d do something, I’ll do it. You can stay at my place tonight.”
Dang~!
Lieutenant Wang almost dropped the teacup again, barely managing to steady it before more water spilled.
Oh my god!
Did I hear that correctly?
Commander Liu actually agreed?
In his mind, Commander Liu was a goddess, unreachable and untouchable. Yet, here she was agreeing to let this kid stay the night?
For a moment, Lieutenant Wang started questioning his whole worldview.
“My sister will need to stay at your place, too,” Qin Feng added, glancing at Chuchu.
“This…” Liu Yan hesitated. “Is that… appropriate?”
Her concern was less about space and more about how Qin Feng intended to have any “meaningful” interaction with her if his sister was around.
“Uh, are there not enough rooms at your place?” Qin Feng asked, scratching his head.
“There are enough rooms, but if it’s just the two of us, having your sister there might be… inconvenient,” Liu Yan sipped her tea, smiling without explaining further.
Lieutenant Wang, overhearing this, felt a surge of jealousy. He could hear that Liu Yan was implying something deeper.
Qin Feng, however, suddenly understood. Liu Yan had misunderstood his intentions.
“Sister Yan, I meant to borrow your place to cultivate for the night. I’m on the verge of a breakthrough.”
“Oh, that’s no problem.” Liu Yan put down her cup, still smiling, thinking to herself that this must be an excuse Qin Feng came up with to hide his shyness. However, it was a rather poor one.
Cultivation breakthroughs typically took time and peace. Some people spent days, weeks, or even years in seclusion to advance, not just a single night.
At least, Liu Yan had never heard of such a thing happening so quickly.
What she didn’t know was that Qin Feng, with his extraordinary talent, truly only needed one night to break through.
“All right, I’ll have Lieutenant Wang take you over. I’m a bit busy right now, but I’ll join you later,” Liu Yan said, tossing her dormitory keys to Lieutenant Wang.
“Lieutenant Wang, take them to the dorm.”
“Yes, Commander!” Wang responded, eager to follow orders. “Come with me, please!”
After Qin Feng and his sister left, Liu Yan returned to her desk and pressed a button on her communicator.
“Xiao Yan, come to my office!”
“Yes, Commander!”
A minute later, a petite and pretty female officer walked into the room.
“Xiao Yan, I need you to go to the city and buy me a few sets of school uniforms,” Liu Yan ordered directly.
“Huh…? Yes, Commander!” Xiao Yan saluted.
“Do you know my size?”
“Yes! You’re 171 centimeters tall, wear an F-cup, and have a 63 cm waist. Your leg length is—”
“All right, all right! That’s enough. Just go,” Liu Yan interrupted, slightly embarrassed.
“But Commander, your figure is so perfect, I doubt we can find school uniforms that fit. Most student outfits are rather plain,” Xiao Yan said, hesitating.
“Just do your best to find something suitable. Make sure it highlights my perfect figure,” Liu Yan replied.
“Yes, Commander. Understood.” Xiao Yan hurried off to complete her task.
As she reached the door, Liu Yan suddenly called her back.
“Oh, and pick up a maid outfit for me, too.”
“Huh…?” Xiao Yan’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Commander, what are you going to do with that?”
“Just get it. Don’t ask too many questions!” Liu Yan snapped.
Xiao Yan quickly ran out, her tongue poking out in mild fear.
Watching Xiao Yan leave, Liu Yan let out a sly smile. She clearly remembered Qin Feng once mentioned he liked the innocent type.
However, men are fickle creatures. Who’s to say he wouldn’t also be tempted by a docile, maid-like persona?
