Chapter 392 Selling
Shane confirmed that the pharmacy stores sell basic medicines like pain relievers, antacids, cough medicines, and paracetamols…
They were certainly basic, but they could be really more variable than potions made by alchemists.
After confirming this, Shane decided to explore one of the alchemy stores. The sign above the door read "Mystic Elixirs."
As he stepped inside, the scent of various herbs and potions welcomed him. The shelves were lined with bottles of different shapes and sizes, each containing a unique concoction.
Shane quickly noticed that there were five potions being sold in large quantities. However, there wasn't a single health recovery potion among them. The potions available were:
Spirit Elixir - Restores Spirit Points.
Fatigue Draught - Reduces fatigue and restores energy.
Satiety Serum - Satisfies hunger and provides nourishment.
Focus Tonic - Enhances concentration and mental clarity.
Vitality Brew - Boosts overall stamina and endurance.
They could not provide any specific value or amount that he would receive, but Shane wasn't expecting much from it.
As Shane examined the potions, the shopkeeper, a middle-aged man with graying hair and a friendly demeanor, approached him after assisting two other customers who had arrived before him.
"Welcome to Mystic Elixirs," the shopkeeper said with a warm smile. "I see you're interested in our potions. Can I help you with anything specific?"
Shane nodded. "I'd like to buy one of each of these potions to see their effects."
"Of course," the shopkeeper replied, quickly gathering the requested potions and placing them in a small wooden crate. "That will be 78 gold coins in total." Discover exclusive tales on empire
The potion that made it this expensive was actually the Vitality Brew, which was worth 25 gold coins each. The Focus Tonic and the Satiefty Serum, on the other hand, were only worth 10 gold coins each. The Fatigue Draught was worth 15 gold coins and lastly, the Spirit Elixir was being sold for only 18 gold coins each.
Shane handed over the coins and took the small bag, thanking the shopkeeper before leaving the store. He was curious to see their effects on him but he could do it later…
Next, Shane visited another alchemy store called "Arcane Brews." This store was smaller and less crowded. As he entered, he noticed that the shelves were sparsely stocked compared to Mystic Elixirs. Apparently, they were selling materials for alchemy, and only one potion was being sold in bulk here.
The potion was labeled Berserker's Elixir. According to the description, it provided a Berserk Effect, increasing strength and agility for 10 minutes…
What was weird about it was the fact that they only sell in a bundle.
They sell 5 Berseker's Elixir for 115 gold coins.
'Weird…' Shane thought, but he decided not to pry too much. After all, this might just be a marketing strategy, and he wasn't too interested in learning about it.
The shopkeeper, a young woman with bright red hair and a serious expression, approached Shane as he examined the potion.
"Interested in the Berserker's Elixir?" she asked. "It's our specialty. Perfect for those who need a quick boost in combat."
She could tell from Shane's attire that he wasn't from this Shelter at all. Shane was wearing his SWAT uniform after all. Compared to the others in the Shelter, he seemed completely out of place…
Nonetheless, he didn't care about his attire, and it may even work to his advantage if it was known that he wasn't from here.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Shane nodded. "I'll take one."
The shopkeeper quickly fetched a bottle and handed it to Shane. "That will be 30 gold coins."
Shane paid for the potion and planned to leave the store since he was already satisfied with his purchases.
However, the shopkeeper stopped her.
"Traveler, I can tell that you're from the outside. If you're selling some herbs or any other materials you have there… You can consider selling them to us." The young woman said.
Shane paused for a moment as he considered whether he indeed had such materials he could sell.
"Ahh… I have some items here that you might be interested in." Shane said as he took out a few items. There were five Starvation Elixirs, five Crimsonheart Healing Tokens, five Drifterwood Healing Tokens, five Momentum Shift Elixir, and one Corrupted Eternal Youth Elixir.
The young woman's eyes widened in shock as she saw the items Shane laid out on the counter.
She was only an apprentice of an Alchemist, so after sensing that they were higher-grade items, she immediately realized that she wasn't in a position to deal with this.
"Traveler, please wait here for a moment," she said, her voice trembling with excitement. "I need to call the owner to appraise these items."
Shane nodded, watching as she hurried to the back of the shop. He could hear her calling out urgently, and moments later, an elderly man with a long white beard and a robe that glowed slightly arrived.
His eyes sparkled with curiosity as he approached Shane.
"Greetings, traveler," the old alchemist said… "I am Master Wu Dahai. I understand you have some rare items for us to appraise?"
"Yes," Shane replied, gesturing to the items on the counter. "I have five Starvation Elixirs, five Crimsonheart Healing Tokens, five Driftwood Healing Tokens, five Momentum Shift Elixirs, and one Corrupted Eternal Youth Elixir."
Master Wu Dahai's eyes widened as he examined the items. He picked up one of the Starvation Elixirs, holding it up to the light.
"This elixir is strange… However, with this Starvation Elixir, even if they would feel hungry no matter how much they eat, it had an effect that enhanced metabolism and would allow them to eat even poison, dirt, or contaminated food without experiencing negative effects." he murmured, clearly impressed.
It might be useless to others but since it could last for 12 hours, it would certainly help those who couldn't find any food for some time…
He also believed that once the effect disappeared, the person would remain satiated for a long time…
"A valuable item indeed."
He then moved on to the Crimsonheart Healing Tokens. "These tokens are infused with powerful healing magic. They can mend even the most grievous wounds," he said, his voice filled with admiration. "Such rare healing items are highly sought after."
Next, he examined the Drifterwood Healing Tokens. "These are similar to the Crimsonheart Tokens but are crafted from driftwood, making them slightly better…" he explained.
When he reached the Momentum Shift Elixirs, Master Wu Dahai's eyes gleamed with interest.
