Chapter 348 Elysia Wants to Leave?
"She left me a part of herself!" Noah confirmed the guess she had with those words.
"Is this?" She looked at the thing in his hands and asked with curiosity.
"Yes…" Noah caressed the seed with great care, "This is the seed of the world tree."
"But how is this a part of her?" Since Elysia was a very young world, the world tree on her had yet to bear sustenance. There were many things she was not aware of about the world tree; only time would reveal them in the future.
"The normal procedure for a divine tree to produce a seed is a very sacred ritual performed by their selected priest or priestess." Noah started explaining the ritual to Elysia as she calmly listened to him.
"In that procedure, the divine tree condenses a part of its power into a seed that could give birth to an entirely new world tree." The more Noah spoke, the more confused she got as to why he said it was a part of her.
"But there seem to be other ways that she used at the end of her life. She made a seed with a part of her own soul stored in it. I don't know how she did it, but she stored a part of her soul inside of it."
Hearing Noah's explanation, Elysia looked closer at the seed and noticed something that she failed to notice before, or maybe it was that the seed was rotating in the air she could not see it before.
"Noah, what is that…?" her words trembled with a hint of worry, causing Noah to stop and look at the seed, and there it was…
A small red mark on the seed reminded him of the veins he saw all over her roots before her death. His eyes trembled as a theory passed through his mind. He clenched the seed in his hands and gritted his teeth.
'Was her sacrifice for nothing?' he thought bitterly.
"What is that, Noah?" Elysia flew towards him and placed her hand on his back, seeing his expression.
"This is the side effect of being affected by demonic energy. The reason she lost control over her." Noah took a deep breath to calm himself and looked over his shoulder before explaining.
Elysia's mouth went agape when she heard those words.
"But things are different now. I spent most of my life after her death looking for ways to bring her back and also fight against this energy." Noah's eyes blazed with determination as he added, "I will make sure she comes back alive and well."
Getting no response from Elysia, Noah turned to look into her eyes, which were lost in some deep thought. Noah placed his hand on her shoulder and asked, "What happened? You look troubled…"
Elysia snapped from her daze and looked at Noah, hearing his words, and placed her hand over the one he rested on her shoulder and looked deep into his eyes. "There is something I want to talk to you about.."
Noah could feel the heaviness in her voice and nodded before sending the seed back into his stone. As soon as he did that, his soul glowed before several glyphs appeared on its surface.
Elysia smiled, seeing his overprotective nature. She did not dislike that nature of his; instead, it warmed her heart as if she was the one on the receiving end.
The two of them disappeared from the area and back in the garden they opened their eyes. Elysia looked around before turning her head back towards Noah and smiling.
"What did you want to tell me?" Noah asked with a soft voice.
"While you were in the process of making your body, I was looking all around just in case some unknown enemy decided to ambush us." Elysia looked away into the distant sky as she spoke. "There was nothing out of the ordinary, so I decided to look for some treasures to bring back."
Noah listened attentively as she continued speaking.
"I found some herbs and medicinal plants for your alchemy research and tried to move them away from the field." Elysia sighed before looking Noah in the eyes and adding, "The thing that I pulled was not the herbs, but it was just a stone lying nearby.."
Before Noah could even respond to her words, Elysia moved on explaining what happened next.
"At first, I thought that it was a mistake and I was too swamped with my thoughts and pulled something else. So I tried again, and I was able to pull the herb but… it was shredded into pieces."
Hearing Elysia's words, Noah felt a dark premonition arising in his heart. He could not help but think of something that was on the top of his that could lead to her current situation.
"At that moment, I got worried and moved away from you and tried to use a lightning bolt to kill a Spirit beast in the forest…" Elysia's voice trembled as she added. "The bolt came down twice the size… of the one I intended and obliterated the beast and the area… not even leaving a speck of blood drop behind…"
Raising her right sleeve, Elysia choked on her words slightly as she looked at Noah with a helpless look on her face, "I am losing control over my strength… Noah."
*Woosh!*
Noah's whole body froze seeing a small pulsing red vein park on the arm she was showing. His eyes went wide before they turned vertically thin, causing the air around him to tremble.
Seeing the enraged look on Noah's face, Elysia stood up and did what he always did to calm her down. She placed her hands on his cheeks and uttered softly.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
"I will have to connect myself to the world before looking for the place these people are living in so you can kill them." Hearing her words, Noah snapped out of his daze and spoke through his gritted teeth.
"I will not let anything happen to you…" those were the only words Noah could utter and that made Elysia smile before she replied, "I know you won't."
