Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking

Chapter 447 Transition to Cosmic; No Right or Wrong

--

Cedric led Roderika to the nine-layered Heaven Island, where he made arrangements for this moment. Fortunately, it looks like she wasn't offended that he didn't bring her to Prime Earth instead. Cedric couldn't imagine her caring too much about this little thing, either.

Roderika isn't one to waste time. This was evident when she immediately began informing Cedric about everything she knows as soon as they got acquainted. Of course, Cedric didn't dare to be negligent or distracted; the things she's saying were the key to his advancement, so he had to listen.

"Transitioning from the grand solar level to the cosmic level of life evolution is a big deal for everybody, regardless of the race."

"As someone who came out of the Tower of Prodigies, you know that there are plenty of geniuses in this realm outside of 'The Six' and even the alliance. Whether they're lucky or gifted, it all translates into strength in the end."

"It's not rare to see people like transcending realms in terms of combat power. Be it a 1-star Grand Solar Warrior defeating a 3-star Grand Solar Warrior or a Grand Solar Warrior defeating a Grand Solar Grandmaster. The Primeval Scarlet Dust Realm isn't lacking fortune or resources; if you're fated for it, you'll get it."

"Things are different once you reach the cosmic level, though."

"Due to how arduous and challenging it is to enter and progress through this realm, the so-called 'realm surpassing combat power' was nearly impossible to achieve. If you're fortunate enough to step to the Cosmic Level, you'd understand what the feeling was like. Right now, just know that there's still heirarchy even at our level."

Cedric nodded and kept this in mind. It's true that he didn't completely grasp what she's trying to say. He understood that sometimes things are just difficult to explain using words. The profundity of the realm difference in the cosmic level should be one of those.

"Actually, the realm after the Grand Solar level of life evolution isn't the cosmic level right away," Roderika explained. "There's this thing called the transitional realm before you officially become a cosmic level expert."

"The Transitional Realm has nine levels. These levels are divided into three; the first three levels are the Early Stage, the next three levels are the Mid-stage, and the last three are the Late Stage."

"Each stage represents one facet of your life origin transitioning into a higher form. The first three levels transform your body, then your mind, and lastly, your spirit."

"It's only after you completely transform all three aspects that you can attempt breaking through the cosmic level. Otherwise, it's simply impossible."

"And don't you dare think that there isn't any risk involved in the Transitional Realms. There had been many people who died in their attempts at this, leaving behind resentment and regrets. You must seek perfection in each level or else you'd leave flaws behind. If you do leave flaws behind, they will become a risk when you breakthrough to the Cosmic level and might result in your death."

Cedric smiled bitterly after listening to this. It seems that reaching the later levels of cultivation was indeed filled with dangers. Each wrong move can lead to a certain death. Enjoy exclusive chapters from empire

While the previous levels of Life Evolution contained risk, it surely wasn't this high. So long as one's foundations were solid enough and they're patient, breaking through was almost guaranteed. Failing hardly results in certain death either; at most, it will cause their strength to regress, but there are many known cures for this.

At the transitional realm, or even the cosmic level, though? Cedric couldn't imagine there being much of that.

"Contrary to what others think, there aren't any of the so-called cultivation techniques for the transitional realm or the cosmic level of life evolution."

Cedric's eyes widened in surprise at what she said.

"It would make sense if you think about it real hard. The Transitional Realm's purpose is to transform your existence into a proper vessel. There's no right or wrong in that process. There is no procedure or instructions needed either. The only thing that matters is how thorough you were in each refinement, and that hardly needs specific instructions to justify creating a cultivation technique for."

"At the cosmic level, any technique becomes redundant because at that level, even a single gesture from you becomes a cultivation art practiced at a conceptual level. Again, there's no right or wrong here, only the path that you've chosen for yourself. Besides, your will already represents the cosmos; who in the world is qualified to tell you what to do? Surely, not old folks like us with delusions of granduer."

Cedric pondered over her words and thought that they do indeed make sense. It also made sense now why there aren't even rumors of cultivation techniques for the cosmic level circulating anywhere. That's because all of them are fake.

"It might be too early for me to tell you this, but you seem like a smart person, so I'd tell you nonetheless."

"The cosmic level of life evolution isn't the peak," she revealed. "After you step in this stage, you'd be called a cosmic warrior. Advance a little more and you'd be a cosmic lord; a little bit more and you'd be referred to as a cosmic emperor."

"After the Cosmic Emperor realm, you will start tracing your existence to its roots. This step will lead you to discover the origin not only yourself but of all things as well. By then, you'd be referred to as the 'Origin Ancestor' or simply put, the 'Primordial Lord' or the Primevel Scarlet Dust Realm."

"If you reach this level, then it doesn't matter who you were or where you came from. Everybody, including 'The Six', has to bow down before your presence."

Cedric then saw a wry smile on Roderika's face before she said, "Pah! It's too distant! In truth, this is just hearsay. Why? Because not even the strongest existence in the alliance has reached that level. The High Ancestor of the Wise Dragon Clan is trying to, but it's been too long since he entered his seclusion. Some of his clansmen aren't even aware that he exists."

Roderika then surveyed the place and released another sigh.

"At the very least, though, try to strive for the Cosmic Lord realm. If you can reach that level, then you'd be able to sit at the same table as us."

She then looked at him, her eyes crinkling kindly, which almost made him think that she's smiling at him beneath her gauze.

"We, the Six Leading Races, are tired of each other after all. Managing the entirety of the Primeval Scarlet Dust Realm is too much even for us, you know? And that's even with the help of our subordinate races."

"Welcoming another race that share our burdens led by another cosmic lord is something that we're really looking forward to. It's just a shame that that's easier said than done."

Then, as if being jolted back to reality, she gasped and said, "Ugh! Why am I even telling you this? Forget it, forget it. Just treat it as the ramblings of an old lady."

Cedric smiled wryly at her behavior. It must be the stress and her actual age that's making her sentimental. Well, Roderika sure doesn't look that old, but at the same time, there are tons of resources that could make somebody look perpetually young. Besides, she's a cosmic-level expert. Her strength makes her physical appearance barely matter.

"Anyway, although I said that there aren't any hard rules or instructions for the Transitional Realm and above, it doesn't mean that there aren't any helpful tricks and tips."

A book manifested between her fingers, which she pushed towards him before saying:

"This is the 'Cosmic Furnace' spell. It allows one to call upon the aid of cosmic laws to assist in refining your life origin. It's helpful during the transitional realm only."

"The higher your mastery over this spell, the better and more thorough your self-refinement would be."n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"Don't spread this out, okay? Not even to your family or any of your friends who reach the same stage as you. If you ever do, you'd force my hand, and I don't want us to reach that point."

"I promise, I won't," Cedric replied. "Do you need me to sweat an oath?"

"No, there's no need to. I would know right away if you ever break your promise, anyway. I'm a Cosmic-level expert, after all."

"Well, that's all for now." Roderika sighed before standing up. "Or...that's mostly everything you need to know for now. If you're puzzled or curious about something, you can always contact me through this."

Roderika gave him a communication talisman to contact her personally.

"Our relationship as mentor and student will last until you reach the cosmic warrior realm, or until you die in pursuit of it."

"Once you're prepared to go after your 1st transition, don't forget to inform me so I can guard you. Don't be hesitant either; it's all under the contract you signed."

After saying this much, Roderika promptly disappeared from Cedric's view. Leaving him smiling wryly since he didn't expect this lesson to be this quick.
