Chapter 305 – How each fare
Chapter 305 – How each fare
'This Secret Realm is completely barren...' Thought Mei when she tried to explore around. There were plenty of Beasts around, but no notable Treasures or Herbs.
In most places, there was also a restriction on flight, which further limited Mei.
The Rune on her hands stabilised and became even 'chubbier'.
'At least Aiko is faring well, I wonder who is fattening her up...' Mei pondered on it, but the only friend Aiko could get would be either Feifei or some unfortunate Soul that was beaten by Aiko.
'No matter, I can investigate them later, it's unlikely that Aiko will run into the 4 Disasters.' Mei shook her head. She didn't believe that Aiko would run into them since those guys were picky about their 'food' and would not usually attack indiscriminately.
'There are just 3 I need to destroy before I can reunite with Aiko.' Mei narrowed her eyes.
One was an inheritance ground that wouldn't help anyone and the other two were memorials.
She will be able to peek at how they are faring through memorials and inflict damage on them if she destroys them.
Mei easily traversed the plains. She was aware that she was being watched and the one who watched her was pretty angry about something.
'I wonder what happened to him.' Mei tilted her head, but since that person hadn't descended on her, that meant that she hadn't entered his territory yet.
Mei walked into the first inheritance ground. There were already Humans around, but Mei used the Concealing Talisman alongside [Heavenly Suppression Technique]. Unlike Aiko's, it could affect a bit more than just her animal features, so her presence thinned further.
None of the 'prodigies' from the other Sects could see her and she just passed around them into the inheritance ground.
'I don't understand why they would be waiting. Do they believe that the Treasures inside would just jump outside for them?' Mei shook her head. She was unsure if they were stupid or just pretending to lure others in, but she didn't care.
This inheritance ground was an old ruin with a path inside. The stone blocks that it was built from were already cracked and covered with moss and other flora. It was already on its last legs, but that didn't mean that Mei would just go past it. She would destroy it.
Inside the ruins it had a strange sense of danger, but since Mei already cleared this one time; she knew exactly where to go.
She was easily able to avoid all traps and arrive at the end of these ruins.
'That still took so many days...' Mei didn't like her speed. While sure, when she was younger she was much slower and it took her several months, but that didn't mean it should take her this long when she knew the path.
'A familiar face.' A voice spoke from the inheritance table, right into Mei's mind.
It was an incredibly ornamented table, that spoke of its might when this place still stood tall.
Mei rolled her eyes. 'You can call it retribution.' She answered without flinching.
'I suppose so, but do you believe that you would be able to leave this place if you destroy me?' The voice spoke without any fear.
'That is for me to assess and not for you to worry about.' Mei shook her head.
'Who said that I'm worried?' The voice sounded displeased. 'You won't be able to leave this place.' It repeated.
'Yeah, yeah.' Mei waved her hand like she didn't care about what he thought. She was already pretty powerful, but thanks to Aiko's new method of checking temperature, it got even more ridiculous.
She spread her Divine Sense, but this time it was not the 'searching' type, but full-blown battle type.
The thick Divine Sense spread and crushed everything in its path.
'What?! How can you be so strong?!' The voice was shocked.
'I blame that on a little ball of fluff.' Mei sighed in her mind, Aiko was so abnormal that it rubbed on her.
'I can't believe it!' The voice was no longer confident, it could be said that it was shaking in its boots (table)!
'That's what you get for always being a salted fish.' Mei proclaimed before crushing the ornamented table, thus ending this inheritance grounds for good.
The whole ruins shook, slowly crumbling as Mei gracefully walked outside.
"Something is happening to the inheritance ground!" One Cultivator shouted.
"Contact our Senior Brother now!" Another screamed painfully.
Mei didn't care about their uproar, even if they tried to find her; they would definitely fail.
'Next up are the memorials.' Mei narrowed her eyes.

{Inside a strange cave}
The Blood Fox was sitting on the ground and comprehending the thick stench of the blood inheritance.
"Come closer, you will see it better!" A small 'Aiko' was trying to constantly tempt the Blood Fox.
"Could you just shut up, you are a goddamn annoying pest!" The Blood Fox had a headache from this little pest that was trying to act like Aiko, but failing miserably.
"But you would be able to see it clearly!" 'Aiko' pouted unhappily.
"If it was the real deal, she would just steal the blood inheritance and plop it in front of me!" The Blood Fox snorted disdainfully at the poor imitation.
"... What...?" Even the imitation was stunned.
"You heard me right. So if you are really her, go pluck that inheritance and place it in front of me." The Blood Fox demanded from the fake.
"..." The fake was completely speechless. How can there be anyone that would steal the whole inheritance?! That's just impossible! "Hmpf. Then don't come closer and you will never comprehend- You already comprehended the first part?! Are all of you monsters?!" The fake suddenly yelled.
"Gosh, you are seriously so annoying..." The Blood Fox cleaned her ears, since it was seriously painful to listen to this fake.
"..." The fake didn't want to give up, but nothing worked on this damn Fox! Not to mention that the fake had a feeling that this would be its end if this Fox comprehended the whole legacy! It didn't want to become a pawn for a shitty Fox!
The Blood Fox meditated again. She was not strained yet, and for some reason, the voices inside were helping her exploit this blood inheritance. She had no idea why they were helping her, but she didn't reject it since it would speed things up.
...
"... Unbelievable." The fake Aiko shook her head. This Fox didn't take years to refine this place, but only a few months!
"Be quiet, servant." The Blood Fox said sternly. The air around her body was very different from when she entered this cave. It felt more majestic, more royal than before.
"..." The fake Aiko had to listen, since she was refined by this damn Fox!n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"This inheritance..." The Blood Fox paused to strain the nerves of the fake Aiko. "Is pretty shit."
The fake Aiko glared at the bastard Fox. She really wanted to strangle her, but couldn't since she was her slave.
The Blood Fox enjoyed the angry thing before her before slapping it harshly. "And change that got them form, before I stomp you into the ground!" She proclaimed and the fake Aiko turned into some sort of black blob.
"I didn't expect this." The Blood Fox nodded as she investigated the blob.
"It's nice and smooth." She narrowed her eyes. "Can you change your form in anything you wish?"
"Yes, Mistress." The Black Blob answered.
The Blood Fox hummed. "You see that nest?"
The Black Blob angrily wobbled and the Blood Fox smiled with glee...
"Turn into that, but make it so that it's created out of tails, as similar to mine as possible." The Blood Fox found the best gift possible for Aiko, who needed their tails to sleep peacefully.
Of course, she would not use this if Aiko was around, but if Aiko was away or they needed to stay guard or do something. She could use this... thing, so that Aiko could sleep peacefully.
"I take it back. You are quite useful... as a bedding that is." The Blood Fox smiled with glee when she saw the Black Blob quivering with anger.
"What else can you do?" The Blood Fox would interrogate this thing before she went around to gather more things for Aiko and also improve her strength by Evolving.

"There are too many Cultivators." Wanshu snorted unhappily.
"Tell me about it." Yuxi massaged her shoulders, for some reason they were targeted.
'Disgusting pricks are coming after us since we look like twins...' Wanshu knew the reason and clicked her tongue. Even Seniors in the Fox Village went crazy after they noticed the twins, not just them, but any kind of twins. As long as they looked like a copy of each other, they would go feral, trying to subdue them to have them for themselves.
"What do we do? We won't be able to find that many things if we are chased all the time..." Yuxi whined. She wanted to be praised by Aiko, but so far they were just bothered by Cultivators.
"We are collecting Souls, so we will be able to gain more Tails." Wanshu soothed Yuxi.
"Huh?" Yuxi blinked. "How do you know that?"
"I already got the 'training' on such a thing, it's not very pleasant, so I will do my best so you can avoid it." Wanshu smoothed Yuxi's hair.
"I will do my best, so that others won't bully you!" Yuxi hugged Wanshu. She really liked this caring side of hers.
"So, what do you want to do now?" Wanshu asked gently.
"Let's rob everyone blind, like Aiko would.' Yuxi spoke like a true Cultivator. "We can then share the loot with her and our grievances." She chuckled darkly.
"Keep in mind that even Aiko is restricted in this place." Wanshu warned Yuxi not to get her hopes up, but still caressed her head adoringly.
"I know, but Aiko always has something up her sleeve." Yuxi believed that if it was Aiko, she would be able to do something. It was not blind fate this time. She once spotted Aiko battling with Mei and that Divine Sense was both different and terrifying!
Wanshu blinked and pinched Yuxi's side gently. "Don't rely on her too much! What if she gets hurt? Then Mei will beat both of us up!" Wanshu sulked, Mei was truly unfair in this.
"You should've trained more then." Yuxi shrugged. "I have trained and can challenge Mei!"
"You have not trained. It's all thanks to Aiko that we are this powerful." Wanshu corrected Yuxi.
"But we still trained to control our powers." Yuxi also corrected Wanshu.
Wanshu clicked her tongue. "Fine."
Yuxi gave her a tender kiss, which turned into a brief make out, before more Cultivators interrupted them...
