Chapter 148 :. Craze
Cyrus hurried down the road, his face a mix of anxiety and excitement.
He was practically running, so focused on his destination that he didn't even notice the throngs of people rushing alongside him, all wearing expressions just like his, anxious yet eager.
After about half an hour, Cyrus finally arrived at Windflow Street, following Oberon's directions.
As he navigated through the bustling crowd, he found himself standing in front of a massive store.
Confusion washed over him as he wondered aloud, "Am I at the wrong place?"
The entrance was packed with people forming a long line that stretched far into the distance.
Every now and then, someone would emerge from the store pushing a bicycle and grinning from ear to ear.
Cyrus glanced at the store and then back at the line, feeling a slight helplessness tugging at his lips.
With a resigned sigh, he joined the end of the queue, waiting eagerly like everyone else around him.
"Please don't let them run out of bicycles," he silently prayed as he shifted from one foot to another.
Time seemed to crawl as the line moved forward slowly; it felt like for every person who left, two more joined behind him.
Hours passed before Cyrus finally neared the entrance.
His heart raced with excitement as he caught glimpses of what lay inside, a treasure trove of bicycles neatly arranged in rows.
At last, it was his turn! A young man greeted him with a warm smile as he opened the door for Cyrus and three others to enter.
Stepping inside took Cyrus's breath away; the spacious interior was filled with gleaming bicycles and enthusiastic salespeople ready to assist customers.
"Welcome to the Origin Technology Official Store!" said a female salesperson who approached him with a gentle but professional smile.
"Oh! Huh!" Cyrus snapped out of his daze and nodded appreciatively at her. "I'd like to buy a bicycle," he stated eagerly.
"Of course! Please follow me," she replied cheerfully as she led him to an area where several stunning bicycles sparkled under bright lights.
"This is our basic model: The Soaring Cloud Bicycle," she explained while gesturing toward them.
Cyrus's eyes lit up with excitement as he gently caressed one of these beauties. "I want this one!" he exclaimed without hesitation.
"Great choice! But do you know how to ride?" she asked kindly.
Cyrus scratched his head sheepishly and admitted, "No."

The salesperson smiled knowingly and clapped her hands lightly.
Within moments, a tall male employee approached them.
She introduced him: "This is Jake; he'll teach you how to ride."
Cyrus nodded enthusiastically and followed Jake towards an area designated for lessons.
About twenty minutes later, Cyrus returned with stars in his eyes, he looked like someone who had just discovered magic!
"So? How did it go?" asked the female employee eagerly.
Cyrus beamed with excitement as he exclaimed, "It was great! Learning to ride it was a breeze, definitely not difficult at all!"
The friendly female employee smiled warmly and replied, "Your bicycle is ready! All you need to do is head over there to make your payment."
She gestured toward a counter where another staff member stood, assisting customers with a professional smile.
"Okay!" Cyrus nodded eagerly and quickly made his way to the counter. Moments later, he returned to the female employee, who was now standing beside a shiny new bicycle.
"This is your bicycle," she said as she handed it over to him. Cyrus's eyes sparkled with joy. "Thank you so much!"
"Just so you know," the female employee added, "our Origin Technology also offers maintenance and repairs. If you ever need help with your bicycle, feel free to come back."
"I'll definitely remember that," Cyrus nodded appreciatively as he wheeled his new bike out of the store.
"Oh wait a minute!" He stopped abruptly and turned back toward her.
"Yes sir? Do you have any questions?" she asked with a bright smile.
"Yeah," Cyrus replied thoughtfully. "When you mentioned this is the basic model, does that mean there are other models available?"
"Absolutely!" The employee smiled patiently. "We have two models: the basic model called Soaring Cloud and our Mana model known as Flying Nimbus. The basic model is perfect for everyday folks like you, while the Mana model caters specifically to Mana Cultivators."
"Wait, so there are bicycles designed for Mana Cultivators too?" Cyrus gasped in disbelief.
"Yes! The Mana model boasts incredible features, it can boost a Mana Cultivator's speed by five to six times and comes equipped with a defensive mechanism capable of withstanding attacks from Tier 3 Mana Cultivators," she explained enthusiastically.
"Wow!" Cyrus's mouth dropped open in astonishment.
"Would you like to buy one?" she asked hopefully.
"No, no, no," he shook his head vigorously. "I'm not a Mana Cultivator myself, but my friend is an Adventurer. I'll definitely tell him about it; it could save his life someday!"
The female employee nodded understandingly but couldn't help feeling slightly disappointed; she had hoped for a sale that would double her commission on the Flying Nimbus.
"Goodbye, Miss!" Cyrus waved cheerfully as he pushed his new bicycle towards the entrance.
"Goodbye sir! Thank you for your patronage! You're always welcome back," chimed in another male employee at the door.
Cyrus smiled and nodded before stepping outside into the bustling street where many people were waiting in line.
They watched him as he pushed his new bicycle with envy glimmering in their eyes.
Cyrus was beaming with excitement, gripping the handles of his shiny new bicycle as if it were a treasure.
Taking a deep breath, he hopped on, swinging his right leg over the frame and firmly planting it on the pedal. With a swift push, the bike lurched forward, and in no time, he placed his left foot on the other pedal.
With a little shake of his legs, he began to pedal slowly but steadily, feeling an exhilarating rush as he moved ahead.
Cyrus maintained perfect balance as he pedaled along without any wobbling.
Moments later, he was out of sight, his laughter echoing behind him as he rang the small bell on his bike with glee. He felt like the wind itself!
Nearby pedestrians couldn't help but notice this sudden wave of cyclists taking over their streets.
"Hey look! Another person riding a bicycle!" one exclaimed.
"Yeah! This bicycle craze has really taken off," another replied incredulously. "It's only been a day since people discovered them, and already there are so many riding them!"
"I've seen at least thirty people zooming by in just twenty minutes!" someone chimed in.
"It makes sense, after all it's fast and easy to ride! Plus, it's not even that expensive" another added enthusiastically.
"My sister's husband's brother's sister-in-law's cousin just bought one! He used to lug around loads of work that would take him two hours, now he can do it in mere minutes with the bicycle!"
"Wow! That's incredible!"
"Right? It's such a handy tool!"
"I wonder who invented this thing anyway?" someone pondered aloud.
"I heard it was created by a company called Origin Technology," came the reply.
"Origin Technology? What a quirky name!"
"True! But honestly, they've done wonders for us regular commners."
"I heard they're quite ethical too, no exploitation here!"
"Exactly! They could have sold these bicycles for an outrageous price but instead kept it affordable at just 15 Silver Coins, not like those greedy merchants!"
"They really are doing good work."
"I've decided, I'm buying one tomorrow!"
As Cyrus sped past with joy radiating from him and others joined in on their own bicycles, curious pedestrians pointed and chatted excitedly about this newfound mode of transport.
