Chapter 1713: Mentally Unstable Faction Leader And Members



The entire arena shook from the roar that came from the stands when they heard Grey's words. Challenging a peak Seventh stage Sovereign while being in the Sixth stage is already shocking in itself, challenging two peak Seventh stage Sovereigns while being a Sixth stage Sovereign is nothing short of being dumb. The duo Grey was challenging are known for their vile means. It's not that they purposely cause harm to their opponents, but the darkness element is a very destructive element, and a little slip up in control as well as the defenses of the person taking the attacks could mean serious injuries, if not death.

The crowd already believed that Grey would not be able to come out on top against his current opponent, yet he's adding someone who's just as strong as him to the fray.

Grey must've had a screwloose or something.

In the Elders' area.

"What's wrong with him?" One of the Half God Plane Elders asked in shock.

"Icy flames. His flames are icy flames!" Another Elder in the Eighth stage was shocked by Grey's flames.

The flames shocked so many people, but they were still trying to comprehend why someone like Grey, who they thought to be smart to make such a dumb decision, was taking the spotlight away from his icy flames.

Lord Dante looked at Faction Leader Bertram, and seeing his calm expression, he couldn't help but ask.

"You're still confident that he will win?" He asked as he tried to access the situation. Even he had a hard time believing that Grey would be able to beat one, much less two peak Seventh stage Sovereigns.

Faction Leader Bertram smiled and replied confidently, "An even easier win. He'd have a harder time facing one of them than two."

When the rest of the people in the Elders' area heard this, they were dumbfounded. They now saw Faction Leader Bertram in the same light as they were seeing Grey at the moment, a complete psycho who didn't know his left from his right.

How could he say that battling two opponents of higher cultivation levels is easier than battling one? Even if you want to show off your prodigy, at least don't do it in such a dumb manner!

This was the thought in the heads of all those from the Pyro Faction. They've all agreed from Grey's previous performances that he's a fair distance away from his peers, but that distance didn't mean crossing an entire cultivation stage in the Sovereign Plane, and beating not one, but two people in said cultivation stage.

Lord Dante felt Grey would need a good amount of luck just to be able to gain the victory against one of them. From Grey's previous performances, Lord Dante already knew that Grey's battle experience was vastly superior to that of his age group, hence the reason he even felt Grey might have a chance against his initial opponent. Adding one more person to this is no different from saying he didn't want a spot in the top ten.

If Grey had defeated just one of them, Lord Dante didn't mind offering him a darkness elemental treasure, of course Grey would've lost the privilege of having to choose one of his choice.

Lord Dante sighed, 'The young are still ever young and reckless I fear.'

Grey already knew his words would bring out such a response from the crowd, but he didn't care. He wanted to make a statement, and against someone who uses just the darkness element, he didn't have anything to fear. Due to the orb in his body, he's almost always at an advantage against Darkness Elementalists.

One of the main traits of the darkness element was its ability to dissolve and also poison one's essence after a prolonged encounter with it. However for Grey, that was not a problem. He didn't need to fear that if touched by a darkness elemental attack, he would be poisoned by the darkness element, or that his body would start to decay. He's basically immune to most of the main attacks of the darkness element, so why not take advantage of it and take out two peak Seventh stage Sovereigns since they could barely cause him any harm?

That wasn't the only plus in this. Once he defeats the duo, he'll automatically seal the number one spot among the Seventh stage Sovereigns since no one would want to go toe to toe with someone who just took out two of the people who could be said to be in the top ten strongest Seventh stage Sovereigns. Even the number one Seventh stage Sovereign in the Pyro Faction wouldn't be able to achieve this. Even a peak Eighth stage Sovereign will find it hard to beat the duo, much less a Sixth stage Sovereign.

The young man Grey pointed at was the one who told Grey's current opponent to spar with Grey.

"You want to play with me too?" The young man, although playful, one could sense that his aura wavered slightly. It was as if something else was about to step out.

"If you don't mind." Grey responded.

His current opponent was patient, he gave Grey the look one would give to someone when they realize they're making the worst mistake of their lives.

"You have two domains, that's quite impressive." The young man Grey just challenged commented. Only now did people notice that they missed this too. Grey's words left them too stunned to even figure out that his flames were not just special, but he made use of a domain as well. He has used the lightning domain before, and from his previous earth attack, those in the Half God Plane sensed the slight use of a domain during his last attack against Xaden. To the normal people, Grey had used two domains, which was mind-blowing, but to these Half God Plane Elementalists, Grey had used three domains out of the four elements he has shown.
